Johnny Depp gets Stoned again
Hey, who's copying who? At the Disneyland premiere of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," Johnny Depp and his Rolling Stone pal Keith Richards - the acknowledged inspiration for the look and demeanor of Captain Jack Sparrow - looked eerily alike. Although Depp was far more heavily accessorized than the eternal rock star. Ironically, Keith - who told press Saturday that he felt like he was having an "acid flashback" - was just about the only person NOT wearing his trademark skull headscarf on Saturday. Instead, he carried it. But he may wear one in the film to play Depp's not-so dear old Dad.

For the third year in a row, a band of marauding pirates forced Disneyland to close.
The theme park shut the gates at 5 p.m. on Saturday for the world premiere of "Pirates of the Carribbean: At World's End." But inside the park were hundreds of TV, print and online news outlets and thousands of screaming fans hoping to see Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Chow Yun-Fat, Bill Nighy, Geoffrey Rush, etc. All the film's stars walked the red carpet that snaked down Main Street to Adventureland, where the pre-premiere festivities were being held. Noticeably absent: that feisty maiden, Keira Knightley, who was reportedly "filming in England." What, on a weekend?
This year's premiere benefitted Depp's favorite charity, the Make=A=Wish Foundation. As well as raising $3 million for the organization (tickets were $1,500 each), Disney flew in - and put up - eleven seriously ill children (and their families) who wished to attend the premiere. Two of the kids also got a personal meeting with Orlando Bloom at the Grand Californian Hotel, where uniformed guards checked guests' IDs before letting them into the elevators to go up to their rooms.
Inside the pre-party, several of the "Wish" kids were spotted chowing down on Asian
food, riding the Pirates ride, playing Pirates Nintendo, posing for mock Pirates photos, oogling stars
like Teri Hatcher (in the tightest jeans I've ever seen) Carlos from "Desperate Housewives," basketball star Kobe Bryant, and
having sword fights with Disney cartoon characters. Tigger took a
particularly severe thrashing from one small pirate near Splash
Mountain.
Depp walked the carpet wearing blue shades and a vest, talked to the top 20 international media outlets, posed for photos, then signed autographs and walked the entire red carpet greeting delighted fans. Shortly after 9 p.m., security rushed him into Adventureland and over to Tom Sawyer Island to join his castmates waiting to make their big entrance.
After composer Hans Zimmer and his orchestra jammed, Depp - now dressed like a studious Oxford student in a proper jacket and horn rims - stepped onstage with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Gore Verbinski and his co-stars (including Keith Richards) and waved to the party peeps in the bleachers across the water.
Will this be the last "Pirates" premiere? Maybe. Maybe not. According to Disney sources, a fourth film is not skedded but Depp has said he would be up for doing another one. Bruckheimer also mentioned a possible TV show. In the meantime, fans can see the film when it opens this week. They can also check out a new Pirates Cave attraction on Tom Sawyer Island. And if they bring their Nintendos to Disneyland and find the X-marked spots near the "Pirates" ride, they can download a cool free "Pirates" DS game. Because there just isn't enough to do in the theme park.
