No press pass for EW's green scene
So I hear that the big "Entertainment Weekly" Global Green pre-Oscar party has been officially closed to press. Yes, after courting press coverage for Thursday's pre-Oscar bash featuring trendy live plants, soy flower and vegetable dyed linens, several reporters have been, well, disinvited. Why? In large part because of a location change: from Peter and Tara Guber's estate to Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith's Hancock Park home. Hey, who would want reporters counting all their giant energizing crystals scattered all over the house?
I'm sure the zero reporter tolerance will be pleasing to expected guests like Daryl Hannah and Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio, both slated to stop by the affair hosted by Al Gore and honoring "Incovenient Truth" filmmakers Davis Guggenheim and Lawrence Bender.
But I bet Ed Begley Jr., is steamed. The party would have been a great chance to plug his new HGTV eco-reality show, "Living with Ed," co-starring his wife Rachelle that shows what it's really like to live with a recyling freak who wants rain barrels in the backyard to reuse precipitation and who refuses to flush the toilet just for a #1. Move over, Sharon and Ozzie.
