'Lost': My recap for 'The Variable' is live

Now this one I can see dividing people in a way not seen since "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham." I'm seeing some verbal fisticuffs coming, or at least the online version of the dancing gangs in the "Beat It" video. One of the two as "Lost" aired its 100th episode tonight.

Joshholloway_lost_s5_240 We're here at the end of the road, "Lost" fans: the final 20 in my week-long series of things I love about this show. I hope you've enjoyed the journey as much as I have. I'm sure the final three weeks of Season 5 will be providing us with plenty of additions to the following list of things I love about this season so far.

Naveenandrews_lost_s5_240 As mentioned yesterday, I'm honoring the 100th episode of "Lost" with 100 moments that I love about the show. I'll be dropping twenty moments from each season on the way to the airing of "The Variable," a Faraday-centric episode, this Wednesday.

Matthewfox_lost_s5_240 We're coming up on the 100th episode of "Lost," and as such, I wanted to do something special. Unfortunately, I couldn't get Baz Lurhmann to help me stage a $150 million version of "South by South Pacific." Nor could I get Morgan Freeman to narrate the audiobook version of the "We Have to Go Back" gallery. So I had to come up with a less expensive way to honor the first 99 episodes of the show. And come up with one I did.

22719565 DocArzt beat me to it, but this article written by J.J. Abrams is too damn good to not pass on to as many people as possible. J.J. is like E.F. Hutton: when he talks, people should listen. Especially if those people are "Lost" fans.

Michaelemerson_lost_s5_240 Back in "The Shape of Things to Come," the general playing field of "Lost" seemed set. What we had watched for nearly four years was in fact a smoke screen, a misdirection, an incorrect prism through which to view the larger picture of the show. What seemed initially like the struggle of some forty-plus survivors on a bizarre Island was in fact just another chapter in the long war between Ben Linus and Charles Widmore. However, Season 5 is showing that not even this is quite correct.

Terryoquinn_lost_s5_240 As you know by now, there's no new episode of "Lost" this week. Because it would be far too easy to hold off new episodes until January and then run them in a weekly fashion, apparently. ABC decided to pull a Benjamin Freakin' Linus on us and toy with our fragile minds. Fantabulous. But luckily, I've got your Wednesday plans all covered. And I'm bringing someone along for the ride.

Jorgegarcia_lost_s5_240 In the wake of last week's episode, "Lost" fans didn't want to know what lay in the shadow of the statue, or why Miles could hear dead people, or why the Dharma Initiative built the Swan in secret. Nope: they wanted to know more about Hurley's "improved" script for "The Empire Strikes Back." And luckily for you, I got an exclusive hold of said script. It took a bit of doing, but I like to go the extra mile for my readers. So sit back and enjoy Hurley's take on a cinematic masterpiece.
