'Lost': Recap for 'The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham' is up
Whew, this was a brutal one to recap. Not just due to its length, but because I wrestled the entire time with the fact that this episode might have been all that great. Some gripping moments, and shocking violence, but not a strong beginning-to-end episode of Lost. And while I tried to give the show the benefit of the doubt, in the end I have a sneaking suspicion that events laid out in tonight's episode may eventually unpack brilliantly in the future, but leave us more confused than ever in the short term.In any case, you can read my full take here. Make sure, as always, to leave your pressing questions below. And since he returned this week (albeit in a scene that made my blood boil, and not in the good way), make sure to preface all questions for "Letters from The Flame" with a great big honkin' WAAAAAAAAAAALT.

WAAAAALLLTTT!
Seems like every episode this season has pounded into our brains that Hawking is uber-mysterious, and tonight was no exception. Just what do you think her angle here is? We've seen her working with Ben, is she also working with Widmore? Or does she have her own agenda?
As a Morning-After Poster, you're hitting us with too much Other Sean. It Happened Last Nighters love the "WAAAAAAAAAAALTS!" but we've been hoping to keep the Morning-After postings a little lighter. Maybe give a shout out to Hawkings with a "Bibbledy Bobbledy Boo" followed by a "...did Ben kill Locke in a fit of jealousy, thinking that Locke was gonna git wit Lady Hawkings?"
Brian:
I thought I was the only one who thought she looked like BBB? In my recaps, that's how I refer to her. HAHA.
After seeing Emperor Locke in the beginning, maybe all islanders must be cloaked warriors.
Brian: we have? Really? Must have missed that memo.
Uh (gulp) Ryan! What are you doing here?! LOL
Catholic School WAAAAAAAALT!
Widmore said he was 17 in 1954 and protected the island for over 3 decades.
2008-1954 = Widmore is 71 years old. Seems right, right?
In 1994, Penelope Widmore met Desmond at a monastery in Scotland. I'll be generous and say she was 19 when they met. 1994-19 = Penny's D.O.C. around 1975/76.
If Richard never ages but Widmore does it would confirm that Widmore is NOT an original Other but rather another chosen leader by Richard. This supports my previous opinion that only outsiders can lead the Others.
So, was Penny born on TI and blooped through the rabbit hole with daddy pre purge OR
Did a young Ben after first meeting Richard immediately fool a 39 year Widmore to turn the FDW and Penny was born off Island? Dial 23 if you have an opinion.
Bloop, 2008 minus 1954 + 17 = 71
This ep should have been called "The death of all Lost watchers expectations". Talk about a wasted oportunity.
We have to come up with a better name than Morning After Posters. The Butterworth club maybe? By the way, how can you get Mrs. Butterworth syrup outside the US? I'd love to finally taste that famous Butterworthy flavour.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLT!!!
Who was "the woman" who left with Frank? If all the O6'ers were pulled out of the plane/timeline, then who left with Frank? Or, were not all the 06'ers pulled out and it was Sun who left with Frank?
WAAAAAAAAALT
Comment above.
I mean it is a pressing question.
