Michaelemerson_lost_s5_240 Whew, this was a brutal one to recap. Not just due to its length, but because I wrestled the entire time with the fact that this episode might have been all that great. Some gripping moments, and shocking violence, but not a strong beginning-to-end episode of Lost. And while I tried to give the show the benefit of the doubt, in the end I have a sneaking suspicion that events laid out in tonight's episode may eventually unpack brilliantly in the future, but leave us more confused than ever in the short term.

Evangelinelilly_lost_s5_240 I'm not one for Lost spoilers. Those of you that have read this blog for any decent amount of time know this. I've developed an almost Spidey Sense when it comes to them. It's not simply a manner of avoiding the spoiler sites; sometimes I have to move with ninja-like skill, navigating between magazine covers, water cooler buzz, and Evangeline Lilly continually drunk dialing me after midnight telling me what happens to her character in the season finale. It's a hard life, but someone's gotta live it.

Michaelemerson_lost_s5_240 The episode '316' has sure divided Lost fans in half. Many of you loved it pieces, while just as many called foul at the show's exposition, structure, and explanations. I'm still in the camp that 'The Lie' is easily the weakest Season 5 episode, but I can understand people's complaints about this past week's ep. I'm not here to lecture anyone on what episode they should or should not like: not only is that not my job, but it's entirely beside the point. What I want to focus on today is what questions we can reasonably ask at this point, and which ones are basically unfair to pose at this juncture.

Joshholloway_lost_s5_240 I know what you're thinking. And yes, I do work out, thanks for noticing. But I know the other thing you're thinking: "Seven days is too damn long to wait for another episode of Lost!" And I feel your pain, brothers and sisters. More »

Yunjinkim_lost_s5_240 Another week, another brilliant episode of Lost. I'm terrified the writers, producers, and actors are going to produce such high quality for such a long period of time that we as viewers will either 1) stop appreciating it, or 2) be ruined on other television shows forever.

Michaelemerson_lost_s5_240 We're just a few hours away from the latest and, Jacob-willing, greatest episode of Lost yet this season. I'm completely in the dark as to what will happen, which is how I like to roll before an episode airs. All I know is the title. Fine by me.

Rebeccamader_lost_s5_240 Before starting in, a quick reminder: I'll be hosting a live Lost chat with Patrick Day of the Los Angeles Times tomorrow, February 16th, at 3:00 p.m EST. We'll be talking all things Season 5, and taking your questions.  So bookmark the locale! Over on the podcast, my wife and I look at the Temple, and how it ties into one of Season 2's most peculiar mysteries. But right here, right now, I want to look at a few of readers' major questions about "This Place is Death." I'm going to look at Daniel's relationship to both Charlotte and fate today, and Cabin Christian's real role on Tuesday.

Elizabethmitchell_lost_s5_240 OK, that was some good Lost right there people. I'm drained, tired, confused, elated, and ecstatic all at once. Can they possibly keep up this up throughout the rest of the run? Let's hope so, because this season's shaping up to be one for the ages.

Terryoquinn_lost_s5_240 OK, a lot of you Lost fans have asked me over the past few weeks, "Why don't The Others move in step with Locke and Company? I'm confused!" And I never answered the questions, because I didn't have the slightest idea, either. I don't like to blindly make things up, and I'm more than happy to say when I'm stumped. But, finally, a muse struck me today. Or should I say, the band Muse struck me today.
