Supernatural's fourth season premiere will hit the CW this Thursday, and though we already know that our boy Dean will rise from the dead, everyone's wondering how his escape from Hell went down, right?

This Thursday, Smallville returns to The CW and, as I'm sure you've heard, The Justice League -- led by the Green Arrow -- will be in search of Clark, who's been M.I.A. since the fortress collapsed last Spring. But is the Green Arrow on Clark's side? In this first hour, the two will get into a knock down drag out fist fight and G.A. will later pierce the man of steel's chest with two near fatal darts. And Chloe, of all people, will be instrumental in getting the Green Arrow on this mission. So, what's going on? Has the Smallville world gone mad?

Last night, cable's newest success story, ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager, ended the first half of its inaugural season with boffo numbers. Attracting more than 4.5 million viewers -- 3 million of them in the attractive 12-34 demo -- it not only beat its own ratings record, but easily bested The CW's new 90210 spin off, which fell 30% from its debut to 3.3 million viewers overall.

Interesting fact: Jason Priestley, who rose to fame playing Brandon Walsh on 90210's original series, directed yesterday's Secret Life of the American Teenager finale.

Appearing on Full House for seven years, most of us know Lori Loughlin as Rebecca Donaldson -- (Uncle) Jesse's girl and Danny Tanner's cohost on "Wake Up San Francisco" -- but The CW is hoping the next generation of couch potatoes will recognize her as the new Cindy Walsh. Playing Debbie Wilson, the wife of West Beverly High's principal and the mother of their two high school-age kids on the 90210 spin off, Lori and I talked -- among other things -- about her familiarity with the 90s version of the show, her opportunity to work with some of the veteran cast members and which TV couple's relationship most resembles that of hers and on-screen husband, Rob Estes. Now playing Dixon Wilson, the adopted son of high school principal Harry Wilson and his wife Debbie on The CW's 90210 spin off, Wilds new fictional world couldn't be more different. I mean, he is basically the 21st century's Brandon Walsh. I recently caught up with Tristan to see what he thinks of all this...

She was not even a year old when Beverly Hills, 90210 first premiered on October 4th, 1990, but Toronto native Shenae Grimes is well versed in the 90210 world. Guided by her mother -- a longtime fan of the drama -- Grimes grew up on the reruns and says it's always been her favorite show. Playing Annie Wilson, the 16-year-old daughter of Harry and Debbie Wilson, who move from Kansas to Beverly Hills in The CW's new 90210 spin off, Shenae is well aware of the fact that she is, well, new Brenda...

So last month, I reported exclusively that Kelly Taylor, our old 90210 friend, will have a 4-year-old kid in the show's spin off series, which debuts on The CW next Tuesday! -- I stand by the exclamation point, I can hardly contain my excitement -- And I also mentioned that said kid's father would likely be one of Kelly's past loves, Brandon or Dylan obvs.

With so many of our favorite former 90210 females -- namely Jennie Garth (pictured left with Jason Priestley), Tori Spelling and Shannen Doherty -- signing on to reprise their old 9-0 roles in the CW's spin off of the series, there's been a lot of speculation regarding their romance story lines... especially since the male characters that Kelly, Donna and Brenda dated way back when -- and married, in D Mart's case -- were portrayed by actors who aren't too keen on returning to the old zip code.

Tata in the old zip... but Doherty isn't the latest 9-0 alum to finalize a return deal. Well, "girl" is a relative term. I guess I should say that when Gossip Girl returns this Fall, Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford, pictured left) will be seriously involved with a woman -- a married woman in her late 30s.

Last season on Nip/Tuck, AnnaLynne McCord (pictured, left) gave Sean a heart attack, convinced poor little Annie to become anorexic and poisoned Julia, trying to pass the whole scheme off as a suicide attempt. Early this week, Rob Estes (Women's Murder Club, Melrose Place) was offered the role of Harry Mills, the cool dad that moves his clan to Beverly Hills in the pilot of the CW's 90210 spin off. However, I'm told his deal has just closed and he is now officially the new generation's Jim Walsh.

It is Upfronts week, that dreaded time of year when the networks hand out one of two grades to their current series: pass or fail. In the last few days, several "on the bubble" shows -- How I Met Your Mother, Boston Legal, Eli Stone and Reaper -- have received the okay to continue on, while a few cherished favorites -- Men In Trees, October Road, Aliens In America and Women's Murder Club -- have been shown the door. On Tuesday, CBS' Moonlight was added to the DNR list, and though there were rumors that the CW might pick it up, those hopes were crushed yesterday when the plans for other programming were announced. I'm wondering if, perhaps, CBS should be prepared for a movement resembling the one that assembled after last year's Jericho cancellation...

Though the CW hasn't made their official announcements yet, rumor has it that Reaper will return for a second season next January. Sexually assaulted, burned in a fire and brainwashed by a cult. And that's just off the top of my head. Kelly Taylor went through a lifetime's worth of fun stuff back in the 90s during Beverly Hills, 90210's original ten-year run. And now, she's back for more. Yeah, baby...

Along with the news that original cast members Kristin Kreuk and Michael Rosenbaum decided not to renew their Smallville contracts for next season, came word of two new characters -- both villains -- who will join the series this September when the show returns for an eighth year. Doomsday, we were told, will be Clark's ultimate challenge, as he's known in the DC Comics universe to be the only character to have killed Superman. And the second fresh nemesis will present Mr. Kent with other problems, seeing as she is intelligent, manipulative and they'll have a mutual attraction. No additional information was provided, but a bit of fresh intel has just landed in my hot little hands...

"I don't think network TV really has the balls to make one of their [teenage] series regulars gay." That's what Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley told me last Fall when I spoke with him over the phone--guess he wasn't a big Dawson's Creek fan--but even the writers on his own show are proving him wrong.
