It is Emmy night, my friends, and I've just returned from the Nokia Theater courtyard where I baked in the sun for approximately four hours, just hoping to score some one-on-one time with a few of our TV favorites before the show began. I mean, yes, the red carpet madness was fun, but you have to understand that everyone was melting whilst waving to the cameras and conducting interviews. The Office's Oscar Nunez felt my pain: "It's just amazing that every time we do this, it's like the hottest day of the year. And I always make the mistake of wearing thermal underwear. Why?! Why?!"

Last night, Entertainment Weekly threw their sixth annual pre-Emmy party outside the old Beverly Hills Post Office -- which might sound weird, but it was actually a super chic venue -- and the TV stars came out. More »

On Emmy nomination day, I got the chance to gush with a few nominees, namely Ugly Betty's Vanessa Williams and Pushing Daisies' Kristin Chenoweth (accompanied by her date, Aaron Sorkin). More »

So, the verdict is in, and though the list of nomination finalists announced last month was somewhat heartening, this morning's news left a few of my favorites behind...

Weeks ago, Neil Patrick Harris (pictured left) was invited, along with Kristin Chenoweth, to officially announce this morning's Emmy nominations, which was a good sign as far as another nod for him was concerned. As expected, his work as How I Met Your Mother's Barney Stinson was recognized by the Television Academy for the second year in a row. The HIMYM family is ecstatic.
