TwitterFan Campaign: Cast Colin Egglesfield
This weekend, still a bit shocked by the news that "Melrose Place" is dropping Colin Egglesfield (Auggie) from its roster, I ran into several fans of the show who were feeling similarly. Even series star Michael Rady (Jonah) -- whom I saw at an Ed Westwick-hosted event for artist Todd DiCiucio's Heartstrings exhibition -- was surprised and saddened by the producers' decision to write Egglesfield out.Â
"I can't believe they're letting the good-looking, chiseled guy go," he said. "That's like getting rid of Grant Show in the first season." Â
Agreed, Mr. Rady. Agreed.
But "Melrose Place"'s loss will be another series' gain.
Can we get Colin cast on another show asap?
Some of the suggestions I've heard over the past few days?
-Carter who? Colin should swoop in to take Serena's mind off that Basin boy on "Gossip Girl"
-Let's see him in some sort of futuristic/sci fi series, like "V" on ABC
-Colin has "Grey's Anatomy" guest star arc written all over him

The plan *should* be to let the Melrose Place producers and the nincompoops at the network know: WE WANT COLIN ON MP. Try writing an actual storyline for him this time, instead of sticking him in a restaurant cooking. Riveting TV, there, producers. Riveting.
You had a full year to develop characters, and THAT was all you could come up with? Did any of you ever WATCH the original MP? Things *happen*....shocking, interesting things. You've tried to be way, way, way too subtle and "real" with this reboot. It's NOT what people expected or wanted. We wanted the crazy nutiness of the original. That's why Ashlee's character was the most intriguing---she's psycho!
Get with it! Hire new writers if you must. Just fix this thing. It's unbelievable to me that we're saying this AGAIN, after just going thru the same debacle with 90210. If you don't KNOW how to do reboots, don't DO them!
He was a terrible actor who should be lucky they cast him in the first place. Korbi, this little campaign you're starting just because you think he's hot and because he flirted with you at the MP premiere party is pathetic.
I'm sure Colin will do just fine without Melrose. This way, he gets a head start to look for new work. We all know the show is done for.

I really like the new Melrose Place, but Ashley Simson is simply horrible and I'm glad she's off the show.
LOL SOMEONE IS JEALOUS -- HALEY! -- COLIN IS AWESOME... and p.s. EVERYONE flirts with Korbi so that makes no sense. I'm with you, KTV! Colin should do a real show like V or Grey's. Those are good ideas.
I dont get it. He is the best looking guy there and the rest arent much to look at and are boring! Get rid of Johna. Maybe he wasnt the best actor but he was getting better thats how it is when they are just starting out sometimes but they get better and his sotry was too dark? no it wasnt but this is melrose! its dark. what a mistake. They could have done so much with his character.
It's not COlin's fault that they wrote a dumb storyline for his character. Whatever went wrong, its their mistake, not his. Don't fire someone for YOUR F--K UP!
There's nothing wrong with Colin's acting or his storyline, but there is something wrong with the show's producers. They should keep the show dark and twisted, so as to distinguish it from all the other soaps on the CW.
Jonah and his dull girlfriend should have been the ones they let go!
He'd fit in just about anywhere, and hopefully soon! Melrose can suck it without him.
