Twitter'So You Think You Can Dance': Did the right guy and girl go home this week?
I know this post is crazy overdue, three days late to be exact. But I have a good excuse, as I was shooting a cameo appearance on "Greek" Thursday night and didn't get to watch the "So You Think You Can Dance" results show 'til this weekend.
But I want to discuss the dismissal of Randi and Kupono, even if it is a few days after the fact.
Any thoughts?
Kupono is no stranger to being in the "bottom" -- wow, that really doesn't sound right, does it? -- and that fact alone is proof, to me, that it was time for him to go. I like the kid, he's got a great positive attitude, he's had a couple very memorable performances -- namely Mia Michael's "Addiction" number -- and, like Cat Deeley, I admire his unique personal style. However, the four remaining boys have a little something extra that he's been lacking all these weeks. I think their skill level, in general, is just more advanced. I mean, that Paso Doble that he and Randi performed was not Top 10 material. Not in the least. And that's why I won't quibble over America's decision to send Randi home either. The Top 5 ladies are incredibly strong dancers -- as Debbie Allen said, the strongest group of females the show has ever had -- so, while it is tough to see Randi go, someone had to bite the dust and it might as well be the girl who had the worst performance Wednesday night, no?

Agree. Randi was pleasant (not sure what the right word would be), but I don't feel she was memorable enough. And while I like Kupono he just isn't strong enough of a dancer. His solo really brought to my attention his lack of showcasing... anything.
As for the rest, none of the guys are all that memorable to me. I like Evan's personality but technically Brandon's stronger; Ade is a powerhouse (but kinda sloppy compared to Brandon) and Jason bores me.
As for the girls, I love fiery Janette. I wish Kayla would go home though. She's a fantastic dancer with great lines, but no personality - so much about her reminds me of a 14 year old girl. Particularly her choice of jewelry and choice of music - remind me of the clones on my local high school's dance team.. except of course K.'s a far better dancer.

I completely agree with the choice that was made. I think america got it right this week. We will see what happens next week
Ever since she was paired with Phillip, I have been rooting for Jeanine. To me she has a star quality for whenever she dances, from hip-hop to broadway to last week's contemporary with Travis, she absolutely shines.

Though Randi's departure is the saddest one for me yet (and that's including Vitolio's chest!!).
I'm very happy that Evan survived another week and I definietly think that it will be Janette or Brandon who wins it all!!!
Though Jeanine is also fantastic (so sorry for not mentioning her above!).
And after reading the posts can I also add that it should be annoying Kayla (can't velieve she's still in it and Randi's gone!) and also Jason who should be sent packing this week!
kayla can dance circles around randi. sure her personality hasn't popped off the screen the way randi's has, but if i wanted to watch a show about personalities i'd go somewhere else. I just want to see great dance routines executed well and kayla has done that much more consistently than randi. when the show becomes purely a personality contest the talent level suffers.
i'm not sure kayla can dance circles around randi. randi has been very memorable in her pieces with evan, but the paso doble with kupono was a kiss of death.
i think kayla is overrated. she's this year's chelsea, or as i call it ... every year nygel and mary find a blond he loves and goes gaga about. it's disgusting. and fans of the show don't like it and she won't win because of it.
yes i think the vote was right on - evan, jason, and melissa are next ... after that not sure: janette rocks everytime period; i love jeanine too ... kayla is really good but personality is lacking, and no this isn't a popularity contest but who would you rather watch - a great dancer or a great dancer that adds their own personal touch; as for the boys - although brandon may be technically better ade is better on the eyes :) we'll see how that plays out
