Kal Penn is finally in D.C., working for the White House
It's been exactly three months since "House" duckling Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn) committed suicide in a storyline that baffled viewers... until we heard the reason why.
Kal Penn had accepted a position working for the Obama White House.
But when June rolled around and K.P. still hadn't assumed his D.C. post, rumors swirled that it wasn't actually happening. However, as White House director of Specialty Media Shin Inouye told The Wrap, the administration was simply waiting for the fan insanity surrounding Kutner's death to die down.
As promised, Penn is rumored to have reported for his first day on the job -- as Associate Director of The White House office of Public Liason... yeah, we don't know what that means either -- this morning.
Best wishes, Kumar!

He quit a top rated soon to be cl***ic show to work for a douchebag. Ya, best wishes Kumar!
or, he feels a commitment to public service. to trying to make a difference. to not be cynical in a world that includes the cynics like alex who continue to perpetuate such negativity it makes the world an ugly place. a place where people have such sucky lives they have to loathe and hate on others just because they have free speech and it makes them feel better for a short period of time.
well i'm not a big obama supporter, nor was i a big supporter of bush, but i wish them both the best. not going to take them down with ugliness, and going to do my best to move things forward in my life and for others to eradicate some of this $hit that makes up the ugliness of our society.
go kumar. got your back on this.
I didn't think he was any good in HOUSE. Maybe he'll be better in Washington D.C.
Now how to get rid of 13 and Taub!
Karamel, I'm with you :)
And this is a very good question, how to get rid of Thirteen and Taub? hopefully by the end of this season, their fellowships will be up and Shore and Jacobs will play the credibility card again.
Can we have Body Politic pick up by a network now ?? lol
I heard the theme from Deliverance just as I read the moronic comments from Alex, Karamel, Sandra and Eliott. Coincidence? ...
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, no reason to dismiss ours just because you don't agree with it.
I never liked Kal Penn on House and I'm glad that he left, I wished Olivia Wilde had left first though but I tolerate Peter Jacobson.
You tell her, Sandra!!! :)
always liked Kal Penn. in a way i'm sorry to see him halt (pause?) his acting career. he was fantastic in the movie The Namesake, if you haven't seen it, you should check it out.
