Kiefer Sutherland has said publicly that the success of '24' is not dependent on his presence and that he feels the show could go on without him... a notion that, at first, seems fully ridiculous.
No one's going to buy into a '24' with some replacement dude doing Jack Bauer's thing.
But...
What if Chloe were to step into his shoes?
Our friends at the L.A. Times' Dish Rag got a little face time with actress Mary Lynn Rajskub who talked about the possibility... once prompted of course. It's not like she's campaigning for the job or anything. However, she may be the only person capable of doing it.

I agree that if ANYONE could do it, it would be Chloe.
It's a joke, right? She may be on the show since season 1, but that doesn't qualify her to do Jack's job. IF anyone can do his job, it's Renee.
As much as I love the Chloe character, does anyone remember when she freaked out in season 5 and had to be prompted how to use that large machine gun while Jack was on the phone? I don't see her as being the Sydney Bristow type.
she can do it. she is great on the show and isnt always getting into trouble in real life liek jake is. can you say embaressing! hope she takes over.

I think 24 would take the fastest ratings nosedive in the history of television.
I ams ure it will swore with Chloe being the star. Last season even though teh show wasa fter house it lost more of its lead inns ratings. So maybe the audiance is bored of kifer and his behaviors in public.
I would definitely stop watching the show.
Re: Ana, Chloe actually started during season 3. The only recurring character that appeared every season so far (besides Jack obviously) is Aaron Pierce.
This is a joke. Let's face it, 24 is Jack, Jack is 24. There's no separating the two. Chloe has shown she cannot handle weapons in the show. No one wants to watch an antiterrorism drama with a computer nerd as the lead character.
And Renee would never be able to cover for Jack's shoes either, she hasn't been around long enough for the diehard to identify with her.
No way man. Kiefer is it. If he leaves as Jack, the show dies. I didn't even like it last season when he was gimped back at the office with a nerve agent running through him. He needs to be on the front lines, cutting edge, all the time.
