Brianaustingreen Though Brian Austin Green was reported to be in advanced talks to join The CW's "One Tree Hill" earlier this week, a source close to the production tells me the man -- whom I prefer to call "David Silver" -- has passed on the part.

Word is, The CW made B.A.G. a very healthy offer -- I'm hearing $75 Gs an episode... which is what Chad Michael Murray was making, by the way -- but Green ultimately decided "OTH" wasn't for him.

Hey, maybe it's because he's still holding out hope for a midseason "Body Politic" pick up

If true, I'm slightly relieved. Nothing against OTH. And I DO want BAG on TV again and SOON. But I WAS bummed when Body Politic didn't get picked up for the fall. Really I just want MORE folks to see how great an actor he really is .. so I'm ultimately rooting for a major network show with wide appeal. BUT, really whatever makes HIM happy and is fulfilling for him etc (and I'm sure he'd like to stay close to LA because of his son).

Oh good! I figured they'd offered him good money, but if he wants a job after OTH dies, then settling for a job on OTH is not the way to boost your career, especially after the rave reviews he received on the critically acclaimed T:SCC. It may not have gotten the viewers it needed to stay on the air, but BAG kicked *** as Derek Reese! I'm sure he'll have a lot of other offers and they may not be a desperate $75k/episode, but at least whatever he picks won't make people wonder if he's going to be the next D list celebrity.

I much rather see him on 90210 where he can repair David and Donna's relationship so they have the happy ending the fans deserve.

Yes BAG clever decision ! You deserve better than CW; they don't want Body Politic alright you don't want this network, you are a smart guy !

thank god! OTH is dying, and dying fast. he can do a lot better!

Thank God, because BAG coming off TSCC then joining OTH is a Travesty & Epic fail. He can do sooo much better over a show that's already dead and keeps dying a slow painful death.

Move on Brian because you were amazing in TSCC and then to join OTH it's like taking a thousands steps back from great to career ending and just sadness.

I saw him on the TSCC - he can do so much more than soaps. Hopefully he will get to play a more multi-layered character in his next show.

What a schmuck. It's nearly a "done deal," then he starts reading some of the ridiculous posts online and pulls out. All you supposed "fans" of OTH who proclaim it dead or dying, did you ever think that infusing some first-rate talent might actually RESURRECT or BETTER the show? Or are you just gonna cry in your milk about the exit of talentless Chad and nice-gal Hilarie forever? Geez, bitter much?

Brian, I've never seen a line forming at your door with great roles. Are you actually so well off, you'd turn down $75G per episode, in addition to being the highest-profile star on the CW's highest-profile night? Man, who is giving you career advice? Unreal.

@ Jonah, you are a genuine moron. With every post you prove yourself to be more and more cynical. I now believe that you really do work for the CW. There's no other way to explain foolishness like this.

Congrats, Brian. I for one am proud of you.

The guy is a washed-up has-been. Why would any show want him? I'm not surprised at all that his BP flopped, and One Tree will be fine without him. A prima donna who has no reason to be.

Quick: tell me one role BAG had between BH90210 and TSCC? Right. He's off Hollywood's radar. Join the unemployment line with the rest those unemployed actors, dude. For the plum sports agent part you rejected, there are 10,000 other actors ready to step in and say "thank you!"
