'Privileged's' Joanna Garcia joins 'Gossip Girl'

The CW may have dropped "Privileged" from its programming schedule last month, but the network will stay in business with its star, Joanna Garcia.

The CW confirms that Garcia will appear on "Gossip Girl" this fall as a love interest for Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford).

We'll meet her character -- a stereotypically catty, Southern beauty queen-type -- in the September 14th season opener.

*gag* Give her a lead role again in some real show. Preferably not on CW. She's too good for GG.

I don't think she's too good for GG. I really prefer her in a lead role, but I'll take anything right now.

I like her so I'm glad that she is gainfully employeed and I think that she will bring a lot to that type of character.

Hmmm... I really liked Privileged and Joanna Garcia and I definitely like GG, but I'm not sure I want her on that show. I definitely don't want another "older" woman storyline for Nate...

I was really looking forward to seeing Joanna's character on Privileged grow. I think she would be great in anything. She definitely should have a lead role.
