'One Tree Hill' hires 'Lipstick Jungle's' Robert Buckley
Yo, remember the new series regular role on "One Tree Hill" which The CW offered to Brian Austin Green? The one which they were offering him 75K an episode for? The one which I told you he was passing on?
Robert Buckley of "Lipstick Jungle" and "Privileged" fame is going to fill it.
Yep, Buckley will play a brash sports agent who becomes close pals with Nathan, advising him on both career and personal matters come next season.
What do you think?

This is the type of career move that has made Brian Austin Green irrelevant. What an arrogant puss to get "cold feet" because some internet bloggie comments said the high-paying role was "beneath him." I guarantee you this much, he will NEVER find work at the CW again. Nice job, BAG!
On to more pleasant things: ROBERT FREAKIN BUCKLEY!!!! Wow, what a catch for OTH! This guy is great, much better looking than BAG, and a truly nice guy. I was sorry we couldn't see his story develop on Privileged, but this casting move breathes new life into this series, for sure! KUDOS to the casting dept!! They finally got one right.
HOWEVER, I've seen some of the auditions on for the female roles (Haley's sis and Brooke's model)....and those no-name actresses are HORRIBLE. Please, get a grip, dudes, and bring in some talent who will actually ATTRACT more viewers, like R.Buckley.
Sorry Slick but I couldn't diagree with you more! I find it very unlikely that BAG turned down the role just because of some internet comments. More than likely he turned down the role because he saw it as a total dead end. One Tree Hill is way past it's prime and it really should have ended this year. I'm sure BAG wanted to find more of a challenging role- and why not? Why settle for a teen soap (which, even though I've enjoyed it over the years, that's all it is- a soap). He has every right to decide what's best for him. As for Robert Buckley, I absolutely LOVE him but wish he wasn't in this role.
Well, we WERE led to believe that B.A.G. was "pretty much a done deal." And then, suddenly, after a day or two of poor response by various posters, there came word that he and his reps were getting "cold feet." How is OTH any more of a dead-end than his last cancelled job? OTH could live on for years, if the new cast reinvigorates it. Or is he just not up to that acting challenge?
Well, no matter. He can pound the pavement or pound sand for all I care. Robert Buckley is a MUCH better choice. Better looking, more relatable, easier to deal with.
I'm excited to see Robert Buckley come on OTH...I loved him on Lipstick Jungle and can't wait!
Now this is good news. Robert Buckley..back on a weekly show? And on a show with James Lafferty? Priceless.
OTH is DONE without Hil and Chad. Sad to say as this was one of my favorite shows and I still watch it daily on soapnet. But come on, I could care less about some sport agent!! I can't see any interesting story lines so I personally don't care who they get.
Smell the coffee, Kristy. "Hil and Chad" were the absolute weakest links of OTH, Chad in particular; even worse than Mouth and Millie. "Done?" Honey, I don't think so. Maybe you need to switch to Disney or NickToons if Chad's type of "acting" is what flips your switch.
BAG did the right thing! He's not starved for work. He gets good offers. He just came off a network series reg on Terminator and Korbi said he was in that Body Politic pilot that she liked so much. I think Robert Buckley is a better fit for OTH even though I would've loved having BAG in Tree Hill.
Good offers? 23 episodes of a series than got canned in Year 2, plus a failed CW pilot that couldn't even beat out One Tree Hill for a place on the lineup....that's not really what industry types consider "good offers," Katee. But keep trying! You know, 'cause "Korbi said."
Geez people can disagree on this- must some of you make snarky comments? Can't you just give your opinion without taking shots at someone else's?
Here's mine: saying the CW p***ed up on a show is not really saying much. They seem to not want to broaden their shows in any way, shape or form. I've seen the first episode of Body Politic and it was fantastic. Way too good for the CW in fact. They would rather keep re-making shows instead of showing something new and original. And when they do have a different show (Reaper, Privileged, Aliens in America, etc...) they always cancel it. I'm not slamming the CW- I like quite a few of there shows and they've certainly never tried to hide the fact that for the most part, they're a station with young, pretty people with lots of problems. I don't find it strange that Brian Austin Green would rather not do these types of shows at this point in his life. He's older, and he's done it already. Why should he take a role just to take it, and why do we ***ume that he's an idiot for p***ing on it? I just don't get it.
