Emmys moved up a week to September 13th
Care more about football or TV?
If you're reading this blog, the answer is obvious, but yeah, looks like the NFL is bumping our small screen Superbowl up to Sunday, September 13th.
The 61st Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards were originally scheduled for September 20th, but CBS -- the network which will broadcast the ceremony this year -- just realized they've got two football games on the 20th, which will likely delay the start of their programming that night.
So the stars have one less week to campaign and prepare. But for us? I don't know, I guess it doesn't make much difference, does it?
UPDATE 6/17/09: Looks like MTV is airing their Video Music Awards on September 13th, so the Emmys are moving back to September 20th.

I look at it as a positive, 1 less week to wait for the results. By the time August rolls around I just want to know the results already as we'll have gone through 2+ months of discussion already - most of which is for the 'who will be nominated' part, but then after the mid summer announcement we get the 'who will win' part of the debate.
And who wants to place bets that the finals of the U.S. Open tennis tournament go 5 hours and mess it up, anyway?
I find myself caring less and less about the Emmys with each p***ing year.
Emmy Night is the best night of the year (next to Christmas) so I'm happy whenever they put it on, and especially if they give it its proper due!!!
Hey Korbi, what is the cutoff for eligibility? Like will any of this season's "Rescue Me" be eligible? Dennis Leary has been doing the best work of his career and deserves a nomination either and don't want Emmy voters to forget about it if the first few episodes of this season will be forgotten by next Emmy voting time.
I wish I could care. Every year they fail to nominate shows that deserve to win and get crappy shows like The Office and Desperate Housewives Emmys (when neither shoe should even be on-air still).
Damn, forgot to sign my comment.
Now that the Emmys are on September 13, let's hope they find a decent host to run the show since last year was such a mess.
