Bateman_theron Rumors that the "Arrested Development" movie has begun filming near Madison Square Park in New York City today are starting to spread online.

The big news -- which I believe can be traced back to the movie set-stalking site onlocationvacations.com -- is not true though, according to a source close to the whole "AD" operation.

"There's not even a script yet," the insider told me this morning.

So that's the bad news.

The good news is that my source used the word "yet."

Sweet.

I can't wait for this movie...

This project is being watched so closely, I doubt there would ever be surprise filming for it. As soon as the script is written, we'll know about it. As soon as it is cast (outside of the regulars), we'll know about it. I just hope that they don't rush into anything thinking they have to strike while the iron is hot. I will wait as long as I have to in order to get another Bluth story.

There's always money in the banana stand.

What i like to know is why an Arrested Development movie (and don't get me wrong i loved the show)can be made and not a Veronica Mars movie ?
The actors (at least Kbell) are as famous (so bankable) as some AD actors (mostly Cera,Bateman) and the show is as popular as AD so why why ??

It will be so exciting when it does start filming! I too will wait as long as I have to in order to get another Bluth story.

Just saw this over at imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0901469/board/thread/139325040?d=139505455&p=1#139505455

Apparently they are shooting a scene for the movie in New Jersey on June 17th.

No need to argue about whether AD or VMars should get a movie... they both should!!! I would see both about 100 times!

Never, ever, ever going to happen. Trust me. No script. No Michael Cera.

what are you talking about, pretty sure CENA would jump at a chance to make a moie about the show that got him STARTED... as long as all the cast members from the show are in... COME ON THE GUY IS NOT A DOUCH BAG...

the project yesterday may still have been related to Arrested Development...

Am I the only one against a VM movie? I'd much prefer it a longer, drawn-out series or mini-series. (Such as how 'Buffy' has done via Dark Horse Comics.) Besides, when was the last successful mystery/suspense movie?

AD... well, I'm also more for an AD mini-series (or short web-isodes) rather than one giant bang of a movie... but "Arrested Development" has that non-sequitur flavor that shows you the unexpected. And hey, if "Serenity" and "the Simpsons Movie" could do well (including DVD sales), why not?
