Twitter'Bones': Are Booth & Brennan really having the sex? Ain't so sure
"Bones" fans were delighted earlier this year when it was revealed that -- after four years of the will-they-won't-they dance -- Booth and Brennan will hit the sheets in the season finale. The powers that be have been very clear that the Brennan/Booth sex isn't a dream sequence or a hallucination (as Booth is experiencing in tonight's ep). But as information has been leaking out about the final episodes of the season, you have to wonder if they might be planning some other kind of weird move.
When we talked with creator Hart Hanson back in May of '08, he mentioned that he was hoping to do an alternate reality episode... an episode where we would be seeing fan favorites return and also get a glimpse of Booth and Brennan leading a more couple-y life together.
Well, the season finale, "The End in the Beginning" is being called "an episode with a twist" and it finds "Bones"' dynamic duo as owners of a club called "The Lab." Um, pretty safe to say that ain't happening in Kansas, Toto. That's definitely not the world "Bones" viewers have come to know and love... not to mention that there will be a bunch of returning characters in the hour -- including Zack, Jared, and Max -- which has me further convinced that this could be the alternate reality episode Hart Hanson told us about.
So now, the million-dollar question is whether the Booth-Brennan sex happens before the weirdness starts or if it takes place in the alternate reality. I'm really starting to think it's the latter.

I would not be cool with that! Not in the least!!
I think I would feel scammed and cheated. They've been hyping this for a long time, so if it ends up not being a real event, I will feel as though the whole thing was just a stunt to get viewers.
Lets face it. If they hooked up in reality-world, everything would change... and we don't want that. So I am good with an alternate reality type thing.
Isn't anesthesia-induced alternate reality, in fact, a dream or hallucination? Which the PTB insist this is NOT? If this does end up being the case, they're really splitting hairs.

i think that it would probably be better if it wasn't "real". One because if its an alternate reality the characters still keep their own personalities, which maybe a hallucination would not. And Secondly, sleeping together would change the dynamic drastically, doesn't matter who says it won't, and if the writers/Hart says it won't, in real life it would. Plus, you're getting them in an alternate reality different funny episode! I even saw Angela's ex husband in the promo...
It should be super exciting :)
Oh and for all the people who are complaining....Just think, at least something is happening!
I would not be cool with it! If your hypothesis is correct, and I think it is, I am disappointed and feel 'played'. To get so excited about nothing.
I got the feeling from the fog in the preview pictures that have been around and tonight's preview for next week's episode, began with white light and kind of foggy.
I'd cry that would really just not be ok.
I hope it is an alternate ending, because the B and B love is so deep....I still think it is too soon. Even if they kiss for real, some of that great tension we love will be out the window. The episode will be great no matter what
