ABC says sayonara to 'Samantha Who?'

Christinaapplegate Samantha who?

Yeah, exactly.

Remember back in 2007 when "Sam Who?" premiered after "Dancing with the Stars" and ABC thought they had a big, fat hit on their hands?

I mean, I was never 100% convinced, but then the writer's strike came and stripped the show of the momentum it had first earned... and, well, anyway, its story ends today as ABC has reportedly axed it for good.

Show sources confirm the news, though the network probably won't announce it until tomorrow morning during their Upfront presentation.

So, thoughts?

Your first impression was good: it was OK at most, but I couldn't watch beyond episode 5. It's a pitty, because it had a talented cast, but something just didn't click.

I can't say I'm disappointed with this cancellation; I liked sam who first season but this season I only lasted a few episodes before I stopped watching and I can't say I missed it! There were so many other good shows cancelled this season that deserve my sadness and regret.

I'm really ticked off! They had 7 episodes in can, all they had to do was buy 6 more and let the creators work towards a series finale of some sort - plus the DVD sales of another season box set! How could this not make financial sense? Now the unaired episodes goes on a Season 2 DVD set (hopefully) and they miss sales on a Season 3! dummies!

Ugggg 7+8 = 13...I'm too ****y to do math. LOL

LOL -- had it right the first time. I should have a V8.

this is bull! it was the only half hour comedy i watched...if they would've just left it after Dancing it would've been fine but instead they moved it to Thursdays against a lot more competition

With the cancellation of "Samantha Who?" ABC now has nothing worth watching. Yes, that includes the boring Gray's Anatomy and the confusing Lost.

The show seemed to loose focus and direction after Samantha left/got fired from her job.

The main character just sort of drifted through her life and things became very uninteresting.

If they started season two with Samantha getting a different job and the wackiness surrounding how she would do in a new work place environment with huge memory gaps, perhaps it would have been better. With the show only focusing on her social life (with a little real estate stuff woven in), it became a little repetitive episode after episode.

That's too bad. Samantha Who was a clever, original and funny show, which ABC treated with zero respect, tossing it all around the schedule, until no one could find it anymore. Remember this is the same network that gave us According to Jim! When it comes to sitcoms, ABC stands for 'anything but creativity'. Samantha Who was a really sweet and funny show that had so much potential---another wonderful show killed off by the suits.

Bring back the Bundys! Al can be grandpa, Peg can be grandma, and Kelly can be the new hot mama! Bud? Well, he can still be Bud....
