TwitterWill 'Castle' stick around?
ABC gifted Castle with a lot of promotion, as well as the plum post-Dancing with The Stars premiere spot, but last night's debut numbers for the Nathan Fillion drama weren't all that impressive. Though Dancing with The Stars had a record night, attracting more viewers than either of their 2008 openers did, Castle lost close to half of those couch potatoes right off the bat.
Of course, that doesn't mean there's no hope for the show. It's still early and Castle -- which has already wrapped shooting on its full first season (10 total episodes) -- will have at least a few more weeks to show growth.
So, it's really up to you. Did you dig it? Will you tell your friends? Did you even watch last night?

For the first time I watched that dancing show as my lead in to Castle and I was shocked at what a piece of trash everything about that dancing show is - on the other hand I enjoyed Castle and found it very entertaining. I'll find something else to watch in that hour before Castle next week - that dance show sucks big time.
This was the best show I have seen in a very long time. I was never bored with it and I thought it was extremely funny.

I liked Castle. Nathon Fillion is always good and I was pleasantly surprised that I liked Stana Katic who I knew little about. There were some awkward moments. But that is true of all new shows until they get in their rhythm.
FINALLY!!!!!!!! Something to watch!!! How many times have I had to switch off the tv because the only thing on besides reality tv is a police proceedural, medical drama or fantasy drama that doesn't live up to the hype. A show that is fun? Who knew the writers still had it in them? I thought they all decided to stay on strike.
In response to the statement on poor ratings, all I ask is that this show get the same chances as the new Knight Rider series. Is that thing still on?
Please just cut that Dancing thing to 1hr and show more Castle or show castle first cause I don't really care about Dancing with the star.
Castle was a lot better than I expected given the mixed reviews I've been reading. Pilots are often weaker than the follow-up episodes too since so much needs to be established, so if it keeps getting better it could turn out to be a great show!
I liked it. It was fun. Sure, it wasn't particularly profound, but it was enjoyable. Good chemistry with the leads, and entertaining. I'll definitely be back next week to see where they take this.
ABC cancels "Life on Mars" an excellent series. They promote this piece of tripe. I hope it tanks royally.
I enjoyed Castle. I thought it was a fun show that was entertaining. I never watch Dancing with the Stars but had it on last night waiting for Castle to start. Castle was the better of the two for me.
I thought it was entertaining...had a couple of laugh out loud moments. It's too early for me to say I definately will add it to my regular tv schedule but I will give it a chance. ABC doesn't do a real good job of keeping the shows I like (except Lost).
