Parmindernagra ER, Privileged, 90210, Brothers & Sisters, Desperate Housewives and a little Office treat. Enjoy...

Oh, and p.s., I'm interviewing One Tree Hill's Mark Schwahn tomorrow, so if you've got questions, email me at kghosh@zap2it.com

Yo, any dirt on ER? -Phillip
Uh, yeah. I'm hearing that NBC execs are seriously considering a 16th season, though they've touted this year as the final curtain for quite some time now. Insiders tell me the Peacock net is hoping to keep County General open for business, as ER continues to win its time slot each week. Word is, the suits and creatives are meeting in an effort to work something out. Thoughts?

Korbi, thanks for the Privileged deets! I'm glad you heart this show too. Here's a question for you, has Privileged received a full-season order yet? Does it look promising? -snamgal
As you may have heard, the CW ordered extra episodes last week, bringing their total order to 18, and that will be it for the first season. Exec. producer Rina Mimoun told me they are treating hour 18 as their finale. And in case you're wondering, yes, they are currently thinking about season two possibilities as well, though they're not yet sure if Privileged will be renewed. Keep your fingers crossed and keep telling your friends about the show.

Ryaneggold So, what's the deal with Ryan on 90210? Did he leave for good? Shouldn't he be coming back to West Beverly now that the whole drug bust undercover thing is over? -Kaitlyn
I'm told Mr. Matthews is just taking a bit of time off to travel through the lovely nation of India. He'll be MIA for a bit, but should return to BH around late January.

Any Brothers & Sisters scoop for me, Korbi? -Tanya
Next year, baby Elizabeth will fall ill, and the family will be forced to find out whether Justin or Kevin is her biological father.

I am loving Desperate Housewives right now. Any idea what we can expect after all this fire business is over? -Geri
I think one of the housewives is going to have a heart attack. Any guesses on who...

Office! Office! Office! -Marsha

Thanks for the scoop!

I have come to terms with the fact that my beloved ER is "closing the doors forever", and although it saddens me, I think that I have prepared for it, so I don't think that NBC should try for another season.

(I kinda feel the same way about a "JD-less" Scrubs!)

did they learn *nothing* from "7th heaven"? "er" really needs to end. they've gone all out with the guest stars and the big events and the wrap ups and this needs to be it. it needs to end as planned instead of dragging the dead corpse through another year.

sabrina | Nov 20, 2008 4:21:05 PM | #

I loved Andy's little speech about the word "webisode" in the interview.

Billiam | Nov 20, 2008 5:36:38 PM | #

Please don't tease me like that. ER coming back for another year is the best possible news you could give me on an otherwise awful day. It's been so good this year that I can't imagine why they'd end it.

Tracey | Nov 20, 2008 5:50:15 PM | #

uhhhh...since when is "ER" winning its time slot this year? Last I checked, ELEVENTH HOUR and LIFE ON MARS were trumping it on a regular basis.

Michael | Nov 20, 2008 7:06:35 PM | #

ER has the best demos, season to date in that timeslot. I think it might also have higher total viewership than the fading Life on Mars, though I'm not positive. Anyway, winning the demos is the most important thing to the networks.

But I think ER should end it with this season. Billing it as the last one and then extending it just doesn't feel right. It's had a great run and this year it's mostly going out the right way. It's time to be over. It really is.

Another season for ER? Please, tell me it's a joke, a bad one. Are they insane?

Lucy | Nov 21, 2008 4:41:48 AM | #

This season of ER has been fantastic! I hope they bring it back for many more seasons...maybe make Ray a series regular again...pretty please?!

Jade | Nov 21, 2008 5:47:34 AM | #

Kath...I actually wouldn't mind to see a new incarnation of Scrubs. It might not work but I think retooling a show could potentially work much better than keeping another on life support. I still watch ER, but I don't connect to it like I used to. And since they killed Mekhi, I've liked it even less.

Michael | Nov 21, 2008 6:05:05 AM | #

ER – let's call it
DNR please.

Thanks Korbi! You give the best scoop - actual plot details!! and I love all the shows you write about! Thanks!

NBC is extremely desperate to want to hold on to a 15-year-old show.

It is winning its timeslot in A1849, the coveted demo for advertisers--although this no longer makes sense since the median age has just hit 50.

At any rate, ER is already a shadow of its former glory. Let it go out with the dignity it deserves.

Then again, NBC has been making mistake after mistake for the better part of this decade, what's one more to end it with?

Terrence | Nov 21, 2008 12:20:46 PM | #

Sabrina, I was thinking the same thing when I read that about "ER". They really need to let it end this year like they planned to. The only thing worse than letting a show overstay its welcome (and another season of "ER" would do that since they had already announced with such fanfare that this would be the last season) is to let a show go without giving it much of a chance (which could be said of atleast a couple of networks this season, but doesn't hold true for ER).

Shannon | Nov 21, 2008 1:14:42 PM | #

As great as ER has been this season, I think it's time to call it day. It's likely that it being the final season in itself is giving the show a ratings and creative boost. Why not go out with a bang (or as much of a bang is still left in ER) rather than let it whimper? Not that it was ever on the same caliber, but I hope the execs remember what happened when shows like 7th Heaven were brought back for one last hoorah. When it's time to say goodbye, just say goodbye.

Cori | Nov 21, 2008 1:24:10 PM | #

What I would really like to know is what happened to October Roads 15 min clip to solve all the issues that were not resolved? Plus what happened to the end of Las Vegas? Any news on if they are ever going to say what happen to Delinda's and Dannys baby?

Jeff | Nov 21, 2008 3:55:46 PM | #

I can understand NBC wanting to keep ER around. Even though it's ratings are nothing like their former days, but than again who's are? Not even American Idol is pulling ER's glory day ratings.

The fact is that ER still does better than any other show NBC has tried in that timeslot. Not to mention it has been one of NBC's top dramas this season finshes every week but it's premiere week in the networks' top 5. (they finshed 8th that week).

That being said, I still think in all fairest to the show, it deserves to go out with a bang this year and if the network really wants to hold on to it, they should do what ABC did with The Practice and Boston Legal.

SG | Nov 21, 2008 6:00:04 PM | #

I can understand NBC considering bringing back ER. It is first in the demo and second in viewers just about every week. It also has higher numbers then many of the newer shows on other networks. Even in year 15 I still find the show interesting and better then much of what else is on network tv. As a faithful ER fan, if it ends I will miss it but would feel it had its "goodbye". If it returns I would definitely tune in to watch.

Kathy | Nov 21, 2008 11:11:47 PM | #

Noooooooooo Let ER end gracefully. The reason it's winning its time slot is because everyone is tuning in to see how the final season actually wraps up (same thing happened with Seventh Heaven, although ER is a MUCH better show).

Please NBC, do not renew this show.

P.S. - if this isn't the final season, then George Clooney for sure won't make an appearance.

tvaddict77 | Nov 22, 2008 1:23:14 PM | #

more er yessss

| Nov 22, 2008 3:25:55 PM | #

I agree with you Jade. If they bring ER back for 1 more season....please bring back Ray! I loved seeing him this season a few weeks back with his new 'legs'. It felt right with him being back on the show.

Linda | Nov 23, 2008 10:49:53 AM | #

Agreed. One of the reasons ER's ratings are doing well is that people know it is the last season, and they want to see how it ends (myself included). If they add another season, then they will likely see the viewship plummet. And then next season, when they say "This is the last season," we'll all be like "Yeah, right."

If NBC wants to bring the show back next season (and beyond) through some occasional TV movies, then fine. Otherwise, let us end the series on a high note, please.

Craig | Nov 24, 2008 3:54:39 PM | #

I would like to see it come back.
And to all of you who don’t like it.. then don’t frekin watch it. change the channel, go play a game or just go away. Why should they take it off just b/c you don’t want it? quit complaining and find something else to do. Let those who like ER have it while its on.

Joel | Dec 2, 2008 6:54:41 PM | #

pleaseee!! more ER!!!!!

Angie | Dec 6, 2008 9:39:10 AM | #

Anthony Hopkins will be coming back even though his character has already died. They talked that they will have hime come back as some people remember him, he will appear in a memory or something like that. I think if they can bring back Noah Wyle, or George Clooney then they should keep it going. At least bring back one of those actors. I did see that George said he will never go back to ER in an interview that he did a few months back. Come on Clooney you made your start with ER come back till they end ER, maybe a few more seasons, come on do it for your fans. Same for you Noah, come back for us!
