You Ask, I Answer: 'House's' Cameron & Chase, Plus 'The Office,' 'Entourage,' Etc...
So, what does everyone think about Hahn's "replacements"? And how about Shonda Rhimes trying to recapture the magic of Grey's season two with all this Denny action? Is Izzie seriously getting it on with a ghost? Let's discuss...
But first, a quickie Q&A to close out the week...
Korbi, thanks for the House scoop! Such great timing. But did you ask Katie Jacobs anything about Cameron and Chase? -Carole
Yes, and it sounds like Ms. Jacobs has been online, keeping up with your commentary, kids. When I asked her how much more we'd be seeing of C & C as the season progresses, she said this: "That's kind of a trick question, because I know whatever I say,
the fans are going to think that I made it up or I'm lying! And that's
weird and great at the same time, because they want more of them and I want
more of them. [This week's] episode was number 7 and we are currently
shooting episode number 13, so I don't know the way the entire season
is going to unfold or how much you're going to see of anyone. [Cameron and Chase] are
going to be woven in and I'm always happy -- as is David Shore -- when
we get to focus on them because I'm really interested in their point of
view. I think it's kind of a hot topic, because we want to see all
of our cast members, and we can never give enough time and space to
Hugh [Laurie] either! So, it's an embarrassment of riches! But I hope we've been doing a
better job of [folding Cameron and Chase back in] this season."
Hi Korbi, any scoop on the House hostage episode?
Indeed. First, it airs on November 25th and will run long -- from 8 to 9:08 -- so make sure your DVR is ready. Also, as Thirteen and House are stuck on the inside with the loony man who is demanding a diagnosis, Kutner, Taub, Cameron and Chase will be on the outside, individually weighing in on how they feel about what the cranky doc is doing... Seems House will be testing different risky procedures/treatments out on Thirteen. She volunteers herself because she figures, she's dying anyway, why not. She's in a dark place and doesn't care. However, I'm hearing that by the end of the episode, we'll see a change in Thirteen. A change for the better.
Is Toby coming back to The Office or what? Holly's been gone for two weeks now. What the hell?! -Karen
He'll be back next week. And I'm not just saying that because the name of the ep is "Frame Toby." I know for sure, as I've already seen some footage of him back at Dunder-Mifflin. And, by the way, NBC.com is premiering brand new Office webisodes next Friday, in which the Tobster is featured. The focus, however, is on Oscar and a screaming phone call he makes at work in front of his colleagues.
Entourage! Entourage! -Pat
As I mentioned a couple weeks back, the situation on Vince's movie set will not improve. After he bows out of the film, he's got some free time on his hands, and I'm told that the crew from Queens Boulevard will be heading back East for a much needed home visit.
Have you heard anything more about Marco's boyfriend on Privileged? -Katie
He's a hair stylist! And they're having some issues... But check back Monday for more scoop because I've had the pleasure of a set visit and have a lot more to share. Also, if you love the show, give them your People's Choice vote!
Alright friends, enjoy your weekend, I'm out...

First of all thank you Korbi for asking about Cameron and Chase, you never disappoint.
Second of all Katie Jacobs is right, I still think SHE'S A f&%$#2@ LIAR. That woman is unbelievable. Does she think before she speaks? She must think we are all idiots.
[This week's] episode was number 7 and we are currently shooting episode number 13, so I don't know the way the entire season is going to unfold or how much you're going to see of anyone.
So she can't give an straight answer wether we're going to see more of Cameron and Chase because they're still shooting episode 13? And what about episodes 8 to 13? Can't she tell either? I bet she can say how much screentime Thirteen is getting in those episodes. She is the reason why Katie Jacobs and david Shore can't give enough time to Hugh Laurie, when an episode like Dying changes everything or Lucky Thirteen focus more on Thirteen than in House, when you know that episodes 9 and 10 are about her, when you hear Katie Jacobs say that they will continue exploring her character as season unfolds, you know it's time to quit. Because it's clear that there's no room for Cameron or Chase in House, in fact there's no even room for Foreman, Kutner or Taub, because all that matters to Jacobs and Shore is House/Cuddy relationship, House/Wilson friendship and Thirteen.
But I hope we've been doing a better job of [folding Cameron and Chase back in] this season."
Hope no more, six scenes for Cameron in six episodes does not do a better job. And if you're reading this Katie Jacobs, you win, because I quit.
""That's kind of a trick question, because I know whatever I say, the fans are going to think that I made it up or I'm lying! And that's weird and great at the same time, because they want more of them and I want more of them."
And she wonders why we think she's lying or clueless. She's an executive producer of the show, if she and Shore really wanted Cameron and Chase back, they would be back. It's like the writers of the show who are interviewed and say "we are still trying to work out how to bring Chase and Cameron back." If you go to any message board, in half a day you get get a dozen realistic and interesting ways to bring them back from the fans. If Jacobs and the writers don't know how to bring them back, it's because they're not trying. And they're lying to us that they are.
I don't want to wish ill on even a fictional character but the only "change for the better" with respect to Thirteen would be either dying or to leave the show. Between being one of the most unlikable characters on TV in a long time, how bad she makes House look and the amount of screen time she gets, I don't think she can be saved as a character. Kill her, send her to climb mountains in Nepal, anything just get her off my screen.
House M.D. has become almost entirely Huddy and Thirteen. There's no room for any of the other six cast members except for Wilson to play Cupid to House and Cuddy, and Foreman to save Thirteen. Do Shore and Jacobs know how boring their show has become?
Meanwhile, Grey's Anatomy is rocking the Yang/Hunt hook-up. Awesome writing for two damaged adults finding their way to each other. David Shore should be taking notes.
Kate | Nov 14, 2008 3:56:54 PM | #I think Izzie is seeing Denny because she has a brain tumor or some other terminal or debilitating condition and will be leaving the show at the end of the season. Rumors have been swirling for some time that Katie Heigel isn't happy there and her statements to the press bear that out. However, I guess her comments just bring the show more publicity, so maybe they'll keep her. They've kind of ruined her character, just like so many others, in my opinion, so who knows what will happen?
Morgan | Nov 14, 2008 4:22:11 PM | #OH please, Katie Jacobs obviously knows what fans what but she is so blind sighted by her love of Huddy and 13, that she can't even give actual interesting characters a storyline.
"But I hope we've been doing a better job of [folding Cameron and Chase back in] this season."
No you haven't. It's been very poorly done this season as with last season. It just shows how much TPTB don't know what to do with them. Throwing Cameron and Chase fans a bone through that one episode wasn't enough! Giving them 2 minutes in a handful of episodes is just down right disgraceful!
Yes 'The Itch' had a lot more Cameron and Chase, but by the look of the new few episodes' promo pictures, it's all frickin' 13!!! I agree with Kate, the only change for the better with 13 is if she leaves for good! I've never hated a character so much like I do with 13. I just don't understand their fascination with this really bland character played by a severely miscast actress! Enough 13!!!! Obviously, Jacobs skimmed past that past of the message boards because there's a vast majority who HATE 13!!
Kylie | Nov 14, 2008 4:45:24 PM | #Maybe 13 will be less of a bitch to everyone, realise the world doesn't owe her anything and that she doesn't want to work in the hospital anymore and then LEAVE!!!!
Jacobs has to open her eyes and realise that the reason why they can't fit enough screen time to Cameron and Chase, and even House, is because they are wasting it on bloody 13 who is NOT interesting or engaging. Partly due to mixture of the character's writing and OW bad acting!
| Nov 14, 2008 4:55:40 PM | #you guys, i love Katie Jacobs. she's never been anything but nice. maybe it isn't completely up to her, all the decisions that are made. you know, =they're trying to do what they think is best for the show... i miss Chase and Cameron too, but they felt the show needed a change -- which i understand -- and now they're committed to the new characters too. i definitely agree, we need more Cameron and Chase and it would be AMAZING to see them integrated in new and different ways... but i don't think we're going to get it by bashing KJ!!
korbi_ghosh | Nov 14, 2008 5:55:23 PM | #...and by the by, who knows, 13 could kick the bucket or start to get too sick to work or just decide by the end of this season that she really wants to enjoy the time she has left and then run off to a remote island to do so... maybe that's why they're focusing so much attention on her now... so that her departure will have impact... you never know. if she leaves, Cam could slip right back into her slot, saying she's there "temporarily" and then never leave!
korbi_ghosh | Nov 14, 2008 6:08:11 PM | #confused. We all want Chase and Cameron back why?
13 is hot, and Kutner and Taub are great characters and a hell of alot more interesting than the two blondies and when can Cameron get her normal hair back?????
13 fan | Nov 14, 2008 7:11:12 PM | #Korbi, I really appreciate you asking Katie Jacobs about Chase and Cameron. Most interviewers seem to have forgotten they exist.
I don't want to come off like an insane fan. If we could get access to David Shore, we would be telling him these things. But Katie Jacobs the face of House and she's been saying for over a year that Chase and Cameron will be back and we've been holding out hope she's telling the truth. Now it looks like that's not going to be the case. Naturally we're disappointed. How can there be a "better balance" on the show this year when Cameron and Chase get one episode, and only part of that, among the first 13 episodes? The show's idea of "woven in" seems to be Chase doing a surgery scene and Cameron giving a case to House every second episode. That's not what Shore or Jacobs said last year after season 3. In fact David Shore said the show wasn't going to change. But it has, vastly.
I wasn't opposed to a change per se on House but the actual choices they made (dropping Amber and Scooter, focusing on 13, and the immaturity of how they're writing House/Cuddy) made it into a much more mediocre show. It's not just dropping Chase and Cameron, it's what they did with those changes.
Maybe it's not Katie Jacobs, maybe it's David Shore, but I feel like the production office thinks I'm an idiot and is trying to snow me with the bread and circus of Thirteen and Huddy and the candy floss of saying that Cameron and Chase will be integrated back instead of the solid, intelligent writing of earlier seasons.
"maybe that's why they're focusing so much attention on her now... so that her departure will have impact... you never know"
I only wish. David Shore loves the character too much to drop her. If he didn't, she wouldn't be getting more time than House himself (e.g. Dying Changes Everything and Lucky Thirteen). It looks like Thirteen will adapt to her diagnosis and she will be sticking around permanently because Shore is so fascinated by her. Too bad the audience isn't.
Kate | Nov 14, 2008 8:58:34 PM | #Maybe 13 will die. That would be a change for the better, both for her and for the show.
Yeah, I know she has the default fans a girl always gets when she`s pretty and bisexual, but that`s not going to last when she`s that bad an actress, and her character is just that annoying.
PLEASE, GET RID OF 13!!!!
She is dragging HOUSE down and you are losing viewers!
Do what you will with the rest of the cast but PLEASE GET RID OF 13!!!!!
And, could you give Foreman's air time to House and Wilson??
I ADORE HUGH LAURIE!
Lily | Nov 15, 2008 2:00:08 AM | #And another thing!
...Kutner is spelled with a K.
:D
Korbi the show needed a change was an excuse, the show worked better with the old format, ratings don't lie.
What I want to know is why they had to bring in a new team and alienate Cameron and Chase? why not bring in a new administrator with a backbone who's life doesn't revolve around House? Why Omar Epps gets to stay and has much more screentime than Jennifer or Jesse? Why hire three more people if they don't know how to write for an ensemble show?
We haven't gotten anything from Jacobs in over a year and a half except lies and more lies, but at least bashing Jacobs is good for our frustration.
Thirteen could be gone at the end of the season, but the only impact she will have on me is that I'll be start watching the show again. And this is not about wanting Cameron back in the team, don't make it personal, this is about us wanting to see more of Cameron and Chase beyond pink scrubs and a surgical mask.
Sea | Nov 15, 2008 4:44:52 AM | #All we're asking is more equal time and interesting storylines among the secondary characters.
Seeing Cameron bring House a case every other episode or Chase behind a surgical mask is not interesting, that job could be done by any other guest star and we couldn't tell the diference. Seeing Cameron and Chase participate in the diagnosis that's interesting.
Grey's Anatomy has a larger cast and they're doing an excellent job utilizing each and everyone of their characters, even Lexie has more screentime in Grey's Anatomy than Cameron and Chase in House.
Sea | Nov 15, 2008 7:10:31 AM | #And another thing, please review your transcripts notes from the teleconference and tell me that every single spoiler has nothing to do with House and Cuddy or Thirteen, then I will tell Jacobs that she's doing a better job utilizing Cameron and Chase.
Sea | Nov 15, 2008 7:12:57 AM | #I'm shocked.
KJ you destroy the show!!!
Ratings is totally dropped (and please, no 8:00 excuse....NCIS = 8 p.m. also and have 18 millions viewers!)

''And if you're reading this Katie Jacobs, you win, because I quit.''
Great.
KJ shame.
Sorry but is truth.

Julia | Nov 15, 2008 8:29:07 AM | #Katie, why?????
We love Cameron, Foreman and Chase!!!!!!!
W the original duck!!!!!
kurban | Nov 15, 2008 8:30:25 AM | #grrrr this is a nightmare!
poor Jennifer!
JM we love you!!!!
| Nov 15, 2008 10:12:22 AM | #With regard to HOUSE M.D. - I like Thirteen, I loved the Huddy kiss and I don't really get excited about either Chase or Cameron (although I do like her) or their romance. In fact, House M.D. is my current favorite show on television, so here is at least one person that thinks Katie Jacobs and David Shore must be doing something right.
Grey's Anatomy is another story however. It's still one of my favorite shows, but I don't like the changes they have made to it, with the exception of getting rid of the character Hahn. I really can't stand the current Denny as a ghost storyline, even if it might end up making sense in the end. And the new characters don't interest me at all yet. Given how many characters the show already had, I really don't understand why they felt the need to add even more.
Ellen | Nov 15, 2008 12:10:51 PM | #The new team have dropped ratings because peple don't accepted this radical changes.
Next year House down weeks too weeks.
TPTB alienated their fans.
I love House&Cameron, their chemistry, their eye-sex and their storyline.
