Leepace Well, Pushing Daisies is definitely dead. Sources tell me the actors and their reps were informed today, shortly after creator Bryan Fuller got the dreaded call from network chief Steve McPherson. As for Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money, they are on life support. A DSM insider says they're technically not canceled as of yet, but the only hope they have for recovery is if everyone and their mother turns out to watch next week's new episode...

Peterkrause_2 It's a long shot, my friends, but I really dig Eli Stone and Dirty Sexy Money. Pushing Daisies was always too good for network TV, but I actually think ES and DSM could find a solid audience. Can we start a campaign to get "everyone and their mother" to tune in next Tuesday and Wednesday? Right now, the cast and crew's only hope is the support of passionate, dedicated fans. One of you geniuses must have a brilliant idea as to how we can spread the word over the next week. I need my Nick George...

Oh, and if you feel like dropping Stevie a line:

::cries for Pushing Daisies:: I guess we should be happy we will at least have 22 episodes of the show to watch (and rewatch) over and over again.

According to the LA Times website, the cast and crew of Eli Stone were informed today that they are officially cancelled. If this is not true, I will definitely start a watch Eli campaign, but sadly I don't know that it will help.

I hate when shows get cancelled midseason. It would be one thing if ABC told PD: "You get this season but barring a huge ratings jump, that will be it" so they have time to craft at least a sem-satisfying ending and wrap up a few lingering plot threads.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I LOVE DIRTY SEXY MONEY!!!! I will send a personal email to everyone I know to please turn their TV to ABC next Wednesday at 10!

Send in the pies? Nah; it's over, alas.

Don't like any of these shows but I feel bad for those that do.

wow ... 3 shows axed right away ... thats sad! I love Eli Stone and I hope we get atleast to see all episodes taped!

2 1/2 Men and CSI are a different network. What you really need to complain about is Supernanny and Wife Swap continuing on and on. That is pure crap on the same network as Pushing Daisies etc.

I think they are making a big mistake on cancelling Eli Stone and DSM. We were told a month or so ago that Eli Stone was picked up for 4 more episodes on top of the 13. They should atleast finish those 17 episodes. They can also fix DSM by dropping some of the cast, and Eli Stone is still posting decent ratings and should be given more of a chance. NBC's Wednesday line-up is pulling in meager numbers as well, but do we see them cancelling those shows.

These shows aren't cancelled yet. Well, Pushing Daisies maybe. These shows should be given more chance.

DSM is one of the few non-reality shows on TV that I like. I hate "Private Practice." Just because Shonda Rhimes is the creator doesn't mean it has to remain on the air. Give me a break!

This is perhaps the saddest news of the year. "Pushing Daisies" was one of the best shows on television, and it will be greatly missed. It is funny how the networks go on and on about how viewership declines year after year, yet they give us crap like "Supernanny" and "Wife Swap" and cancel brilliant shows like "Pushing Daisies". And do not even get me started on that ninth season of "According to Jim" that ABC has quietly tucked away and will be rolling out after the first of the year. That is the biggest tragedy of them all.

I am a fan of Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies. That said, I agree with Korbi - Daisies felt like a show better suited for cable. As for Stone, though, I think it is a well done show that has finally got a very intriguing storyline going in the midst of its 2nd season. I hope it gets a shot to stick, but I doubt it. The struggles of shows like Jericho, after being brought back to life, are likely to play in the minds of executives. At the very least, I hope they let Stone finish it's order so that they can wrap things up.

Tony | Nov 20, 2008 7:41:01 PM | #

Is ABC expecting things like According to Jim to do any better in the ratings? They could've at least given it the rest of the season. I've heard a lot of people say it would be a good fit to pair it with Lost seeing as how they're both completely weird, which is a compliment =). That would've been awesome.

Oh well. I seriously doubt ABC's new shows they have lined up will last long either.

Natalie | Nov 20, 2008 7:53:11 PM | #

I agree with Tony. They should let Eli Stone finish the 08-09 season. Like I said before, I thought they had ordered 17 episodes.

I am beginning to think there is something wrong with me. Why is it always my favorite show that get cancelled? I just don't get it.
I hate networks. They cancel all the best and keep all the crap.
I honestly don't know what I am going to watch anymore. I could cry a little.

ABC can't get its act together. They need to find a few good shows they believe in and stick with them. Their strategy is to throw show after show out their and see what sticks, lately that has been nothing.

No imagination on their part.

(OK I am still PO's they canceled October Road and didn't give it time to find an audience - makes me stay away from their ABC's new shows).

I have always been a big fan of most things ABC but even I know that they have a HUGE bad habit of cancelling great shows and keeping crap. Looks like that streak continues. They killed Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money by not doing more episodes after the strike last season.
Can their taste in shows really be trusted? I mean come on, they cancel these shows but they keep forcing drivel like Supernanny, Wife Swap and ,the biggest piece of crap out there, According to Jim on us.
ABC kills it's good shows and then plays dumb and says it doesn't understand why good shows fail. LISTEN TO YOUR AUDIENCE ABC. We are trying to tell you where you go wrong but you are too stupid and stubborn to listen.

Chuck | Nov 20, 2008 8:42:31 PM | #

I hate having to be the one to say it, but ABC has listened to it's "audience".

Keep in mind, the audience that ABC (and all the other networks) is listening to is the Nielson homes. They still haven't come up with a better way to sell advertising space, and until they do, good shows like PD will continue to die. If the network can't make enough money on ad space, our shows go kaput, and we're left with reruns and reality drivel.

ABC.. u are my favorite network for 10 years now, but im disappointed.. ratings by nielsen must be abolished: INACCURATE and UNFAIR

jake | Nov 20, 2008 10:07:34 PM | #

Im sorry mr. Bryan Fuller. your genious shows are not for the dumbed down american audience caused by such worthless "entertainment" on tv (i still cant find anything funny on 2 & 1/2 men or big bang theory). i agree nielsen ratings is very unfair - it violates human rights and must be abolished.

sam | Nov 20, 2008 10:15:39 PM | #

Thanks ABC. Thanks. You really f-ed up now. Give the shows a chance for once.

Plan B: DVD Sales to convince ABC to put the show back on or at least a petition for a cable show to take this show. How about... (I really don't know what would be good) TBS or AMC? Maybe HBO? TNT? F/X? Anyone? Disney Channel even.

Heather | Nov 20, 2008 10:17:51 PM | #

PD is "too good" for network TV? Given the mass viewer rejection, it seems more like it was too crappy for anyone! Look, people will watch what they like. Obviously, relatively few chose to watch any of the cancelled shows. Let's not even go there with the "people who watch this show are/aren't stupid" because that's just plain insulting.

"Too good for network TV"? Cable's had a lot of crappy programming over the years, you know. Do you think any other show is too good for network TV, or is PD the only Mary Sue of the bunch?
