TwitterTattoos & Touchdowns on Tonight's 'Friday Night Lights'
You know, I sort of want to cry when I think about the small percentage of TV viewers who've discovered the genius that is Friday Night Lights. I swear, each scene is like its own little touchdown, and tonight's hour -- airing on DirecTV -- is a lovely example of that. If you're waiting till midseason to watch this stretch of episodes on NBC, you might want to skip the rest of this item. But if you're up to date and down for a sneak preview of what to expect this evening, please keep reading...
We'll find out how Coach T's new two-quarterback strategy is working out within the first few minutes tonight. And let's just say, the bitter Matt Saracen we saw last season is back. There is, however, a silver lining: the situation leads to a serious emotional breakthrough between Matty and his mommy.
And speaking of mommy's, Julie's will go ape-sh!t when she spies some freshly inked artwork on her eldest daughter's ankle this week. The silver lining here? A classic Taylor family meltdown, complete with crosstalk and screaming in their kitchen!!
What else is on tap? A solid Landry-Saracen scene, which doesn't include much audible dialogue, but will still make you giggle. And despite feeling Landry's heartbreak, you will fall deeper in love with Tyra's cowboy tonight. It's unavoidable.
Also, Jason Street, Herc and the Riggins brothers are teaming up for a major project, and heads up, Riggins has a new mantra which'll have you snort-laughing by the second or third time you hear it...

Are there any Matt & Julie scenes in tonight's episode? According to next week's episode summary, a late-night swim between the two becomes more than just... you know... swimming. I need some scoop on this please!! I don't think I can wait :)
no Matt and Julie scenes tonight, sorry! Coach T does finally meet Matt's mom, briefly... but yeah, stay tuned for Matt n Julie to come.

Honestly? I didn't fall in love with Cash and his cowboy candy and black hat last week and while I'm prepared to keep an open mind, he isn't really winning me over. In this case, I trust Tami Taylor's instincts.
If that scene with Street by the crib doesn't melt your heart tonight, you're dead inside.
Loved Riggins mantra, even better because he was drunk when he was saying it..... how unusual!
there is no better show on television than FNL I think. And I agree - every scene is a winner. My favorites of last night were the "power ballad" scene with Matt and Landry - omg I giggled! and when Matt's grandma saw Coach Taylor on her porch. She just kisses the ground that man walks on (as she should - he is awesome!)
Riggins was perfection tonight. I really could go on and on about this show.
Would someone mind telling me Riggin's mantra? I don't get DirectTV, so I don't want to ready any spoilers trying to find out.

It was something about when all the sewer rats start scurrying away, that's when the true visionaries emerge... it's hard to explain out of context. you actually have to see the episode!!
