Are You Going To Spend Some Time with 'Eli Stone' Tonight?
I wasn't so sure about Eli Stone right from the start. I liked the pilot, but when it premiered last January, it seemed to falter a bit. Still, I stuck with ES and came to realize the faltering was nothing more than a few bumps on the road to a really solid show. The last four episodes leading up to the season finale were fantastic, so I was pleased to see ABC would give the ratings-challenged series a second shot this Fall. And that second shot starts tonight. I've seen this evening's hour, and have to tell you that even if you haven't seen the show before, you should tune in.
All you need to know is that it's about an attorney whose hereditary brain aneurysm had him seeing visions of the future... mostly disastrous visions of future tragedies. And though the visions were helping him to save hundreds of lives, they were causing irreparable damage to his professional reputation and personal life. Therefore, he made the decision to go under the knife and have the aneurysm removed... and that's where season two picks up.
For those of you who're already familiar with the heart and soul of Eli Stone, a little scoop: As Loretta Devine and Julie Gonzalo promise in the clip below, there are a couple of great twists in tonight's opener. Though Eli, so far, seems to be free and clear of any visions since his surgery, he has perhaps forgotten that his condition was not only God-given, but hereditary. And though the surgery was deemed successful, the plans of a higher power have not been derailed...
Oh, and p.s., Ms. Devine is totally forthcoming in the clip about whether or not Eli and Maggie will end up together, but is coy about whether or not she'll be singing this season. However, we won't have to wait long to hear her electric voice... First scene this evening: Patty, front and center, is dancing in the streets. And it's worth tuning in, even just for that.

I can't wait for tonight's episode! I love Eli~
Omigosh i totally forgot Eli was coming back, yes i will totally spend some time with him tonight!
Korbi, is Katie Holmes on tonight or next week?
I'm so glad Eli is back.
I love this show. It's warm and sweet and makes you think - an unlikely and wonderful combination. I've missed this great group of characters.
Katie Holmes' episode is next week :)
The ep aired in Canada on Sunday and unfortunately it was among (if not) the worst the show has ever produced.
To me the biggest fault with the show is that the cast is much too large and unlike say Lost they haven't figured out how to balance out the storylines to service all the characters properly. JMO.
I'm not sure this ep will get people to return to the show next week.
On the positive side, ABC is giving it as good a lead in as they possibly can with DwTS results show. I guess we'll find out tomorrow how much of an audience the show can pull.
I agree it isn't the show's best, but I don't think it is among the worst... People should definitely tune in for Katie Holmes' next week.
I'll be watching - I love this show.
Hey Korbi! I have do love this show... mostly because I love me some JLM. I had a good laugh last night when Jordan (Jack) went to Credit Dauphine for his meeting. I like the Alias reference. Last nights show was alright, but I look forward to more Eli and his visions.
I have to disagree. Last nights episode was wonderful and reestablished my reasons for falling in love with it last year. Love the twists and turns and no show currently on tv makes me laugh and cry and feel like Eli Stone. Brilliant casting and fantastic writing, along with the fabulous Johnny Lee Miller is what makes this show the best thing on tv. I already can't wait for next week!
