As you may have heard earlier today, Battlestar Galactica's President Laura Roslin, also known as the amazing Ms. Mary McDonnell, has been in talks to join Grey's Anatomy for a multi-episode arc later this season. Well, inside sources have now exclusively confirmed to me that McDonnell's deal is indeed done, and the Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress will be appearing on the medical rom-com as a doctor. Why she ends up at Seattle Grace and who she'll be working with is still, however, a mystery. Any guesses?

Grey's will, of course, return for its fifth season this Thursday with a two-hour premiere that I think most fans will find quite satisfying. My inbox has been bombarded with Seattle Grace-related questions over the last couple weeks, so let's answer a few...

Korbi, I enjoyed watching your Erica Hahn interview! Although I'm not so sure I like this Callie-Hahn relationship idea. What do you think? -Steph
It seems Callie and Hahn are a bit unsure about it themselves. They'll spend most of the season opener avoiding each other. Turns out neither ladies has any prior girl-on-girl experience, so neither is totally comfortable with the kiss they shared. But Callie will soon reap the benefits of Hahn's desire to become a better teacher and that could be the catalyst for the beginning of a real romantic bond between them.

Please, please, please tell me Alex and Izzie will get together on Grey's this season. They belong together, I've been waiting for it for so long! -Gina

I can tell you that Denny's appearance is tasteful and appropriate, as opposed to soapy and silly. But you may be disappointed by his amount of screen time.

Meredith's main concern this season is her relationship with Derek -- who's moving in with her, btw -- and of course, her true love, Cristina. Besides, Lexie's about to find out that Meredith slept with George -- who Lexie's now totally in love with -- and that could complicate things further.

I am the same. Alex always gets the girl, even tough he is a total abusive jerk loser, and George stays alone. What gives? It makes me sick.

I want George and Izzie back togetehr. If not, I want George with Lexie and Izzie with anyone else than pondscum Alex.

LOL Sarah I agree. Alex and Izzie is one big dysfunctional couple, a co-dependent one as I wrote somewhere else. Gizzie and Gexie were healthy an cute and ebautiful, especially Gizzie, best couple ever created, but they were never given a chance because this show consists of shallow, superficial fans and critics who can forgive anything if someone is hot and will not answer the letters or mock the fans that don't think as superficially as they do, which is why Kobi, Aussiello and Kristen like to not answer our letters and act like we don't exist.

Just because the haters were louder, doesn't mean they were more. Maybe you should look around. The Gizzie fans have been pretty vocal on places like Grey matter, Fanforum (where they have 350 fans), LJ (where they have almost 500 fans), BuddyTV and many other places and have been for months now.

Maybe you haven't seen all the people freaking out saying they were quitting the show because Shonda ENDED Gizzie and since the ratings were higher with Gizzie around, I'd tend to say they have more fans than haters and the Gizzie fans did keep their promises and quit.

Gizzie has a huge fanbase and we will continue to be vocal.

For the ercord, I was one of the people who quit and I will only come back when Gizzie gets back together.

maybe the impression was Gizzie had more haters because the critics like Hobi here hate Gizzie so much they refuse to post our letters and comments.

I have been looking for this site for hours.

I really hope Shonda drops the Alex and Izzie relationship fast. They are toxic for eeach otehr and have no chemistry.

I don't think Alex is worthy of Izzie either after the way he abused her last season.

I have rooted for George and Izzie since the moment I saw them in the closet together. The love, the intense feelings. They had the best love story, minus the affair part, and the deopth of their feelings always broke my heart.

Now we get almost no scenes with them.

It makes me mad because it seems the critics were always against us and always acted like Gizzie didn't have a fanbase when in fact, they still have a big one.

The Gizzie fans are still there, still hoping. In fact we celebrated our 100th thread on fanforuym not even last week and we are already on thread 103.

So what is George? Chopped meat? They killed his wonderful love story with Izzie. They then build a cute relationship with Lexie and then tell us it is going nowhere? And we have heard nothing else on him.

He is my favorite character and his friendship, and romance, with Izzie have been the only things making me watch since the start.

I was looking forward to Gexie, although no couple can beat Gizzie.

I am seriously starting to hate Shonda. Why won't she give this character any respect?

The Alex and Izzie thing? I could write 300 pages on why I hate this God-awful couple.

Ok...Just have to comment on all the strange posts about Gizzie. Weird. They have different names and email addresses, but I think they're the same...

Anyway, not a Gizzie fan, nor a Gexie one (I sorta liked George and Callie acually - though I knew it was doomed - doomed from the start).
I really like Alex; I like that he's messed up. I don't always love Izzie, but she's messed up in different ways that may work. I think they could be a happy (relatively) couple who remain interesting (which seems to be really hard).
Mary mcDonnell joining the cast can only be a good thing - she's great.

It's a big cast as it is but they could always trim some fat and make space for President Roslin.

They should cut Alex, Callie and Hahn and give George, Izzie, Lexie and Cristina more material.

Lexie is the only good new addition.

I don't see what is so weird about the George and Izzie posts. Their fans are naturally angry at how Shonda has treated them and they are venting about it.

I am not feeling that excited about the premiere. I also don't like Alex and Izzie. I loved Izzie with Denny and with George, but not with Alex. They don't click.

Callie and Erica also have no chemistry. Erica and Cristina would have been better.

I hear Alex continues to abuse Izzie verbally tonight. People root for this,l just because Alex looks good in a wife ebater (and the fact he wears a wife ebater is very telling since I am sure he will be one someday). He tells her to shut up and abuse her, and people root for them because he looks good? What is wrong with today's society?

I wish Shonda would know a lot of us do root for George and Izzie, a relationship that is based on respect and true love, not abuse.

I won't watch a show that promotes abuse.
