'Greek's' Amber Stevens Talks One Night Stands, The Hotness Monster & More
She plays Casey's sidekick Ashleigh on Greek, but this season, things may be heating up for Amber Stevens. The actress -- who could easily be a runway model, smokin' hot in real life -- sat down with me to talk about one night stands, The Hotness Monster and the likelihood of Ashleigh turning Calvin straight. Take a look-see...
So, Amber, I hear Ashleigh could have a love interest this season. The Hotness Monster is making a return appearance -- he's actually a student at Cyprus Rhoades -- though things may not go as planned...
Oh, yes. The Hotness Monster is back, but I don't know if I can say too much. I do know that she thinks he's going to be the love of her life. And something does happen there
that’s pretty interesting. [Laughs] But I hope Ashleigh has a boyfriend this season! She needs to find someone to occupy her boy craziness.
Yeah, Ashleigh is an A-List sidekick for Casey, but she deserves to have her own personal
life.
Yeah, I want to see that, too! For sure.
Will Ashleigh's relationship with Calvin stall again, or might you two become better friends this season?
Probably [better friends], I would say. He has a boyfriend as of now and I don’t know
where that’s going, but they do occupy a lot of each other’s time. I know for sure, though, that [Ashleigh and Calvin] will have some fun together. I think their relationship is special and they’ll have to somehow expand on it to see how far they can take it. [Laughs] I don’t think she’ll turn
him straight, but I definitely think there will be some fun
stuff they get into.
Oh, good!
Yeah, I really enjoy the days that I get to work with Paul [James], who plays Calvin,
just because I’m almost always working with the girls, so it’s a different vibe. And
he always says something really awkward or funny to me right before the scene starts. You might notice that our scenes always begin with us laughing. So I’m always looking
forward to the weird thing Paul is going to say to me -- just bizarre,
creepy stuff -- and I’m like, where did you think of that? Where is your
head?!
And Charisma Carpenter is back for the season premiere, as well as an additional episode later this year. You get to work with her in the first episode for sure, yeah?
Yeah, Charisma comes back and she’s
very funny, a lot of fun to be around and to work with.
Word is Senta Moses, who plays Lizzy, is returning too.
Senta! Yeah, I heard Senta’s coming back. Oh my god, we love Senta. She’s
so funny, she’s like half my size as a human. She’s very talented and we always have a good time when she’s here. She’s a very
positive person.
If you were in the writers’ room, what would you have Ashleigh up to this season?
I kinda like where they’re headed with her. I like
that she continues to be Casey’s sidekick because she's not a leader. She is kind of an
insecure person, and in my own personal life, I’m not that way, so it’s fun for me to
live in her shoes and see what it’s like to be second-in-line all the
time. It would be fun to maybe see how Casey reacts to Ashleigh being in a relationship. Or maybe Ashleigh
becomes a little slutty and brings some guy home for a one night stand. That would be funny!
I would love that.
Do you ever pitch things to the writers that have happened in your own life?
Well, I didn't get a full university experience, moving out of the house, living in a sorority, all of that. I went to a community college for a couple of years, but it was only
part-time because I was trying to pursue [acting] at the same time, and was
working and all that other stuff. But I get to do it on TV!
This is like your college experience.
Exactly. And it's cool because [the cast] has become really close. We're all good friends and hang out on weekends and stuff too. I’ll stay here another 10 years if
they want to keep me in school that long!
