Well, "girl" is a relative term. I guess I should say that when Gossip Girl returns this Fall, Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford, pictured left) will be seriously involved with a woman -- a married woman in her late 30s. Despite the fact that last month's season finale had us expecting a Nate-Serena pairing, sources say Serena will spend the Summer trying to accept her break up with Dan (Dan, on the other hand, will be seen, uh, "enjoying his freedom" in episode one), while Nate gets involved in a Mrs. Robinson sort-of fling. Any ideas on who should be cast in the role of Mrs. R? Melinda Clarke (pictured, right) is the first name that springs to my mind, as she's got experience in the mature lady-underage dude department. Also, there's the whole O.C.-Josh Schwartz connection. Any thoughts?

And since Shark was cancelled she should be available.

Imagine how her fan base would rock this show big-time. And she's so adorable. The fact that she's not a TV regular somewhere shows how stupid Hollywood is...this girl is a major talent with devoted and loyal "Felicity" followers everywhere she appears.

All I've seen mentioned here are options that are completely out of his league. How about someone who is only slightly out of his league.

That being said, I'd want it to be someone who is not a familiar face or someone who at least does NOT have experience in a young skewing show.

I love all those women mentioned, but I think of all those mentioned here, Alyssa Milano could pull it off best. I agree she doesn't look near 40 but she is mid-thirties as someone pointed out. I would assume that a 30-ish woman in Manhattan interested in a boy Nate's age would be a posh woman who looks younger than her actual age, so it works for me.

On the other hand, Kelly Rutherford would have actually been a great choice, but since she's already on the show, I guess it doesn't work. (Or could it...?)
