ABC Upfront Intel: 'Dirty Sexy Money' and 'Brothers & Sisters' To Switch Timeslots? Plus, 'Eli Stone', 'O Road' and More

By Korbi Ghosh

May 12, 04:30 PM

Elistone Though not yet confirmed by ABC, inside sources tell me Dirty Sexy Money and Brothers & Sisters will swap time slots this Fall, giving DSM the coveted post-Desperate Housewives hour (Sundays at 10 p.m.), while B&S will likely air after Private Practice on Wednesdays at 10. Yes, PP is expected to stay put at 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, while its mothership Grey's Anatomy will likely welcome a newcomer as its lead-out. Life on Mars, the sci-fi adaptation of a BBC series, is supposedly getting that spot which has been occupied by Lost over the last few weeks.

Good news and bad news for a few of the bubble series we've been worried about. The team behind October Road (Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg) will be running Life on Mars, which means the axe will probably fall on OR tomorrow. Still, there is a small silver lining to this dark cloud: the producers promised me that we'll get resolution. And the rest of the Alphabet rumors I'm hearing are on the positive side: Eli Stone (starring Jonny Lee Miller, photo, left) will be renewed for a minimum of 13 more episodes (yes!), Miss Guided will return as well, and Scrubs is already three episodes into filming their next season to air on ABC next year (this last peice of info I know to be for sure).

UPDATE (5/13): ABC has officially announced its Fall schedule and decided against the rumored Brothers & Sisters/Dirty Sexy Money time slot swap. Both will remain in their original homes (Sundays and Wednesdays at 10, respectively). Also, Miss Guided got the boot.

i like most of the shows on abc, just too bad they don't have any new series that sound good, can't have everything

Very sad to hear the bad news about October Road. I thoroughly enjoyed this show and will truly miss it. I really hope there is some sort of resolution for all of us fans!

Korbi,

I'm so sad to hear about October Road! That is truly a bummer, however I'm happy to see the producers care about their fans and will give us a resolution! Any news about what and when this will occur? Thanks for your time!

I'm glad to hear OR fans will get resolution. I think ABC made a bad call on this one.

I guess, it's pretty much true that October Road is cancelled, which I can not even begin to understand. October Road is an incredible show, with the best of everything. I personally, will not stop fighting for this show. Not that this means it's 100% done, because other shows have been "cancelled" and then brought back. I will continue to have faith that this exceptional show, will be back. It definitely deserves to be. The fans have been amazing through it all. We all love the show, but because of the actors & actresses they really make it easier to fight for October Road. If the decision is still up in the air, please ABC renew October Road. So many people love, watch and support this show. At least give us some closure, we deserve that at least. Thank you.
SAVE OCTOBER ROAD!!!!!

They better save "Women's Murder Club." Great show. Definitely deserves a shot at a full, uninterrupted season. C'mon ABC, give us more WMC!!

WMC | May 13, 2008 1:09:40 AM | #

ABC has once again shown that it doesn't really care about the fans-just ratings. TV is a business-but it is a people business, and the fans of "October Road" deserved better. No closure. No respect for the fans. No creative thinking (like Ben Silverstein over at NBC w/ "Friday Night Lights") about how to save a show. Just the axe. Well, I've axed my ties w/ ABC. They don't keep up their end of the bargain (no closure) and this time, I learned my lesson.

Still mourning WMC - but I am glad to see DSM moving to Sunday nights!

Sad about October Road. First Men In Trees, now this. But I'm sure they'll be a new crop of shows to watch in the fall. I'll just miss those two the most... :-(

Umm... the front page link to "cancelled shows" lists Eli Stone.

But Eli Stone was just announced at the upfront today...

So...

Get your "Intel" together Korbi. Your rumors about shows switching timeslots are incorrect. Don't start slipping like Kristen Dos Santos....

Eli Stone is the best new show on TV - Thank You ABC for believing in it & giving it the chance to become the Hit Show it will be

Im glad your inside person was wrong about the B&S and DSM swith. I would NOT have liked that.

Ray | May 13, 2008 10:07:21 AM | #

Thank GOD Eli Stone is coming back! Made my day.

nivholla | May 13, 2008 10:29:40 AM | #

I'm thrilled to see Pushing Daisies on the schedule. Now I just hope they can give the show 13 episodes next season at the very least. I like Eli Stone but Daisies is at least twice as good a show.

Steve | May 13, 2008 10:51:41 AM | #

Yes, once again ABC is getting too big for their already inflated ego's. Since they decided to cancel several shows I was hooked on (Men In Tree's and Cashmere Mafia to name a couple). I am putting ABC on the DNR list for my viewing choices.

everwood | May 13, 2008 11:12:06 AM | #

Hooray for Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies!!! I like Dirty Sexy Money too, but I never worried about it's survival.

Mandy | May 13, 2008 11:45:43 AM | #

Steve, I too am thrilled to see Pushing Daisies on the schdule. But twice as good as Eli Stone? Come on. Maybe visually in HD, but that's about it.

nivholla | May 13, 2008 12:13:27 PM | #

ABC WAS a great network with great shows. I am so sad they canceled October Road. What a mistake. I really thought the viewers would be heard on this one. The fans deserve closure on this series. How can it be! Bring October Road back.

I am not interested in getting involved in anymore of abc's shows as it is clear they don't care about their fans. The new shows don't sound interesting anyway.

Bella | May 13, 2008 12:18:08 PM | #

I can't hate a network that is putting my beloved Eli Stone back on the air but I can be very, very disappointed in them for not renewing the amazing October Road! And what about Miss Guided?! I turst you Korbi and hope it's coming back but don't see it on ABC's fall schedule on their website!

I am still very, very, very upset that we will never truly no "what goes on" and in my mind, Janet & Eddie have made their way back to each other and everyone will get their much deserved "happily ever after."

sorry..above "no" should obviously be "know"...again, probably shouldn't be commenting at work! ;)
