'IRT Deadliest Roads' UPDATE: What Happened to Lisa Kelly's Puppy?

Today's cuppa: Irish breakfast tea

IRT_Deadliest_Roads_Lisa_Kelly_Truck.JPGYou asked, so HCTV asked ...

A number of commenters on the previous post, and a few more folks on Twitter, wanted to know the fate of the black-and-white stray puppy that Alaskan trucker Lisa Kelly adopted during her adventure driving the treacherous and congested mountain roads of northern India on the just-concluded first season of History's "IRT: Deadliest Roads."

The fluffy pup was, at the end, Kelly's only companion (except for the unseen cameraman, of course) when she did a dangerous solo fuel run to help stranded villagers.

I checked with History, and spokesperson Vicky Kahn emailed back, "Lisa made sure that the dog (whose name is RANPUR) was given a great home. Ranpur has been taken in by one of the producers of the show and living in California, and is very happy and well cared for."

So there you have it, Cuppers -- a puppy facing a bleak future wandering the streets of an Indian town is now living a dog's life life in Southern California. Will pass along more details if I can get them (also trying to get a current picture, but no promises!).

Keep on truckin' ...

So glad to hear the little fella is safe and in a loving home. I had been trying to find out since the finale what happened to the dog. Thanks!

Are there plans for another season of IRT:Deadiest Roads? Maybe in some other exotic location like the rain forests of Brazil or the Gobi desert? All the truckers were so cool, especially Lisa. Does anyone else think she resembles the actress Helen Hunt? Oughta be in movies.

You should go to History channel and look for the photos from her photo-shoot. She is stunning. I would also like to know what the next location is. They have a road in Brazil that the lads from Top Gear UK drove on that was just as bad if not worse than the one in the Himalaya's.Just a suggestion... Love the show.

Hi
If you go to Dave Redmons facebook page you will see a happy pic of lisa and the dog in the USA

Thank you Eric for answering his question, that question came to my mind as well

So glad to hear the pup got a good home! I, too, was trying to find out what happened to Ranpur!!

Why didn't Lisa keep Ranpur?

Brilliant, thanks for the update!

@Michele - I assume the switch in climate from Delhi to living full time in Alaska was considered a bit unfair on Ranpur; Southern California is much warmer! Though it would have been very cool to see him in the cab beside Lisa on the Dalton!

I've seen all the IRT series so far and find them all very entertaining, and seem to appeal to a wide ranging audience so well done to all concerned and I know there are a lot of people looking forward to the next series. As with most people we were wondering what happened to the puppy so thanks for the info.

I am glad the dog found a place that's better than the streets that it would have been destined to. Lisa played such a sweet sport taking it in and kept the cute dog all along. She even took the effort to learn the language and connect with the locals, but the same people gave her such a hard time really (episode 9)!
I think all three drivers were awesome - loved how they teamed up and conquered the roads. I dig this show - I haven't loved TV this much since I was a kid. :)

I am so happy to know what happened to that cute puppy, thank you Lisa for taking care of that puppy, I am a dog(animal) lover. I loved the show. you should write a book about this . The people you met , India the part you were in . There is a lot of ignorance there about India. Not all of India has roads like that.Thank you once again for the care for the puppy.

Definately would like to see IRT Deadliest roads take on "The Death Road" in bolivia! =)

Would love to see photo's of Ranpur! Warms the heart and makes me smile when people take action to help.

We just watched the season and I fell in love with that puppy! I've been wondering what happened to the puppy. I am so glad to hear he has a good home. Sorry Lisa couldn't keep him though.

Lisa is 1 class chick with a super big heart. What an honorable thing for her to do to take that poor little pup in and make sure he found a home ..... Now that's a great human being , wish there could be more in this world just like her !!!!!!!

The was an incident in one of the episodes where a landslide at the mountain caused heavy traffic. Mr RickYeman and Dave redmon used racial derogatory remarks towards the Indian drivers like if they touch Lisa Kelly, I’ll smack those Indian guys. The reason why the drivers had to open Lisa’s truck doors was to ask her to move her truck back a few inches away, which would free other smaller cars to get out of the massive jam. But Lisa Kelly just kept shutting the door instead of asking, are there any way she could help them. Words like. hey the Indians are staring at me all the time .I’ll punch those drivers and other abusive remarks. These 3 white amigos are here to have fun along with making huge money much higher than those poor Indians whom daily dependent on the poor wage from their bosses. Those Indians are poor in many ways which one soul needs to have compassion. These 3 white buffalos having all the fun along with their lucrative cash using all sort of abusive words. Lisa Kelly and the other 2 white buffalos after death will face karma’s law nor will they be born as Indians or white race as they have tarnished the Good image from other white Caucasians whom had respected worlds cultural, mankind and religion. All 3 are arrogant whom bully the weaker souls.

She wrote a book about Ranpur, you can get it at her website www.thelisakelly.com

You are insane. What part of that incident did you think was normal? Yes I realize she is in a different country with different cultural norms. But she DOES NOT have to open herself up to uncomfortable situations with men who are strangers to her just so YOU feel like she's doing what she's told. And by the way, there are many Indians who try to intimidate by simply invading personal space or leering. Who gives a crap about making them feel better when they're deliberately being aggressive pricks to a female.

awsome

@Kaibul YOU are insane! Stop being a racist for five seconds mmmmk. They wanted her to move her truck. Thus they knocked on her door. No one made any "aggressive" moves. But the IRT's did!

Your comment is idiotic and ignorant.

i am so happy Ranpur has found a loving home..............
Lisa thank you for taking so good care of Ranpur and i just admire you Lisa for all that hard work you do. you have guts girl. Keep truckin and i will b wathing you on TV down under. xxxoooo

Hi can you advise me if the makers or IRT are looking for good drivers that have been driving for many years?

Thanks
Don
