The live finale for The Biggest Loser is kind of bizarre, as it's basically two hours of people stepping on and off scales. They could easily do this in an hour (or less), but they choose not to. Still, it's great to see how people look and how they've been doing.

Argh, this show! The Biggest Loser has moments of genuine connection and transformation, but they bury it all in two hours of filler and twists and schlock. Then, as a final indignity, they change the rules at the last minute. Grrr.

The Biggest Loser goes Down Under this week, and all the gorgeous shots of Sydney are almost enough to make me ignore the blubbering. Granted, some of the tears are earned (yes, I got a little sniffley at points), but most of the weeping and gnashing of teeth was over the top.

Finally! The Biggest Loser's Boys in Blue finally had to face an elimination, after weeks of picking off what remained of Team Black. I'll admit to cackling evilly when it became clear that they'd have to vote off one of their "brothers." The "Pride on three!" pride dwindles! Hooray!

Makeover episodes, like this week's The Biggest Loser, are always a blast. Either something goes really well, and people look spectacular, or something goes horribly wrong, and at least we enjoy the Schadenfreude.

This whole episode of The Biggest Loser was like running into multiple exes, or a long, snowed-in weekend with the estranged extended family, or being forced to sit next to someone you just fired at some corporate event. And then! The episode cut off before the elimination. What the hell?
