I was trying to figure out how My Name is Earl would work in the whole Green message NBC has been incorporating in almost all of its shows. I mean, it completely doesn't fit with the rest of the story yet, strangely enough, I think the writers did one of the best jobs of all the shows at addressing it, the clever duckies (just give them their 8 cents already!).

I was feeling quite trepidatious heading into tonight's back-to-back episodes of My Name is Earl. The episode in which Camden County's first Cops was on ranks among my top Earl episodes of all time. I was really worried heading into tonight that the nice folks over at the show could be going to the well one too many times.

At this point I think My Name is Earl really has to go in one of two directions: either Earl needs to get out of prison or the notion of the list needs to be abandoned. From prison Earl cannot really eliminate items from his list. Sure, he started a new list on his pillowcase tonight, but that's part of the problem, not the solution.

Did you watch My Name is Earl tonight? Oh man, if you didn't, you may have missed the single greatest episode the show has ever put out. At least is was until it got a little too sappy towards the finale, but not to worry, we'll get there.

Before tonight's episode of My Name is Earl began, I kept thinking to myself that Earl needs to get out of jail. Sure, a couple of amusing things have happened to our hero while he's been in the clink, and Randy's been a heckuva lot of fun, but isn't it about time Earl got back on track with his list. I don't think that Earl needs to cross something off every week, but seeing him progress in the right direction is always nice.

I'm not going to say that on tonight's episode Earl became a snitch or a canary or a fink, rat, stoolie, stool pigeon, informant or a narc, but only because I'm worried that if I squeal I'll get shived when I'm on the chow line.

You just sit right back, I'd like to tell you a tale. A tale of heartache and woe. A tale of a man who became something less than a man… and something more. A tale of prisoner 28301-016, and his name is Jean Valjean, or Earl, whichever you prefer.
