real-housewives-of-new-york-city-recap-bethenny.jpgIn this episode of "The Real Housewives of New York City," Ramona goes forward on renewing her vows, Sonja puts a dent in Kelly and Bethenny announces she's engaged.

Poop is everywhere
Jill's dog Ginger is sick and she has called in a vet that does house calls. Things go down the toilet (or Jill wishes they did) when Ginger defecates in fear. Things quickly devolve into a madhouse. Who knew such a small dog could produce so much poop? Jill, what do you feed her? And all that to find out Ginger is fine.

Bethenny's getting married!
Bethenny goes over to Alex's house for lunch and she has big news. She's engaged! Alex is so excited for her, which is refreshing to Bethenny after some of the friendships she has had (cough, Jill). She doesn't tell Alex about being pregnant, but that's understandable. Two life milestones at once, especially as potentially controversial as getting married after getting pregnant, is a lot to handle.

Ladies who lunch
Ramona makes good on her threat invite to get lunch with Sonja from the last episode. Sonja tells her the girls were all abuzz about whatever she said at the Kodak event. When she tells Sonja how she trashed Kodak, the new housewife doesn't seem fazed at all. Hello, she was at Jill's event and talking trash about the sponsor! Anyway, Sonja moves on to Kelly. She says that when she mentioned Max, Kelly said nothing about dating him. She then said that Kelly didn't remember her even though they belong to the same social circles and have seen each other several times while vacationing in St. Barthes. Hm, didn't Bethenny say the same thing about Kelly last season?

Breakfast is served
We then join Kelly and her daughters in the Hamptons. They're making breakfast and her daughter is quite the taskmaster. I guess if Kelly is your mom, you have to get a bit anal to keep Kelly from her bouts of ADD.

The maid should be honored?
Ramona takes her daughter Avery to lunch to tell her that she and Mario are renewing their vows and asks her to be her maid of honor. I love that Avery isn't at all in a hurry to sign on and that a negotiation takes place. I doubly loved that when Ramona mentioned her renewal, Avery sort of gave her a look. Ramona, your daughter is as tired of hearing about your renewal as we are. Don't tell us, show us!

LuAnn's broke down palace
LuAnn and her interior designer are looking at apartments in the city and she runs into Kelly who decides to come along for the first viewing. Why is LuAnn looking in downtown? It's not her scene at all. She decides that the place isn't right (and neither is the neighborhood. Duh). She wants views, a doorman and "all the amenities she's used to." Problem is she apparently has a lot less money than she used to. She then looks at a place on the Upper Eastside and by the way she acts, it's as if the mother ship has landed. LuAnn's home! Of course, the place has views of other buildings (it's New York City, hello) and one of the bedroom windows faces a brick wall and there's still no doorman. Oh, the city has charm, doesn't it? I'm wondering what LuAnn's new price is.

Secrets should stay that way
Jill, her sister, and her mother get together to pick pictures for their book, "Secrets of a Jewish Mother." It's a snore fest, with one highlight. Jill's mother offers wedding advice: One should not wear chiffon on Christmas. Huh?

Max, who?
Sonja, Kelly and LuAnn meet up for drinks and they rehash all the stuff with Ramona. Then they start talking about how sex keeps you young and here's the best part: Sonja mentions Max again! Here's the even better part: Kelly wonders why Sonja keeps mentioning him. As if he wasn't the cat's meow last season for Kelly! Sonja keeps pushing all the right buttons on Kelly, because when they're talking about finding a man, Sonja says she just wants one that doesn't cheat. Right away, Kelly acts shocked and asks Sonja if her husband cheated. Note: Kelly asked first. Then, Sonja returns the question to Kelly and she doesn't answer. In her interview, she says it's inappropriate to ask her that. Kelly, you asked her first! Hm, someone is sensitive about cheating husbands.

Showdown at the Kelly corral
real-housewives-of-new-york-city-recap-fashion.jpgKelly is hosting an event and all the housewives are coming. She's nervous about what they'll do when they're all there and with good reason. Can we talk fashion for a second? Bethenny's dress wouldn't stay up. Kelly wore a doily that just barely covered her naughty parts. Alex, now that was just scandalous. We can see her undies! Thank God for them.

So, LuAnn seeks an apology from Mario in Italian, so what? But as soon as Bethenny arrives, Jill and LuAnn make for the hills. After they leave, Bethenny announces her engagement to the gals and Ramona goes nuts on her bling ring. Meanwhile, Kelly, the double agent, brings word back to Jill and LuAnn about Bethenny's engagement. Shortly after, Bethenny's fiance Jason runs into them and I think he catches Jill off guard when he directly asks if she's mad at him, too. Nice. After he leaves, Jill begins worrying about what it will look like if she doesn't congratulate Bethenny. Meanwhile, LuAnn makes it all about her when she basically forces an apology out of Bethenny for calling her a snake. We have no idea why Bethenny would say that, right?

Soon after, Bethenny has grown tired of the drama and decides to leave. While outside talking to Ramona and Mario, Jill runs out to catch Bethenny. The whole exchange is just nuts as Jill is faking excitement and Bethenny can barely stand the false gesture. What's interesting is how different each woman views the incident as evidenced by their interviews. Bethenny has basically realized her friendship with Jill is over. Jill, on the other hand, has this new desire to explore how to save the relationship. The fact that Bethenny can't even fake a smile is obvious to all, especially when Jill is going bonkers over the size of the ring. My hat is off to Bobby and Jason. All this drama is guaranteed to follow them home.

Do you think Jill and Bethenny should make up already?

Man, you put is right on the money on all points. I am sick and tired of LuAnn seeking an apology from everyone, but NEVER offers one for her floor trap of a mouth. I have officially dubbed her and Jill the Apology Twins, because they can dish it, but can't take it. Tomfoolery abounds with them.

The scene with LuAnn looking for an apartment slightly pissed me off, because did LuAnn really need that guy to help pick where SHE would be living? I am flabbergasted.

"Alex, now that was just scandalous. We can see her undies! Thank God for them." - best line I have read all damn day. Kudos as always. LOL!!!

I meant 'put this' right on the money... sorry, yall.

"the new housewife doesn't seem phased at all."

Well, of course, she wouldn't, because the correct term is "fazed." LOL.

I am so sick of Jill. Actually, except for Alex and maybe Bethenny, all of these women are so gossipy and backstabbing and just mean. That scene in the last episode (or the one before, can't remember) where Ramona just goes off on Bethenny (who has come to her for some advice about Jill) and tells her she is going to lose Jason was just awful.

And I love the way Jill doesn't seem to truly miss Bethenny or feel sad that B didn't confide in her about the engagement, she's just worried that she, Jill, will look bad if she doesn't act happy. Blech.

I just started watching 3 weeks ago & it is very clear to me that Ramona needs some serious meds. She attacks everyone & thinks it's ok because she's "going to speak her mind". I can't stop laughing at Ramona's runway walk! Now we're talking some serious EYE BULGE.

Bethenny and Jill should just move on. They will never be as close as they once were, but can at least coexist and be civil to each other when they all meet up.

Ramona seriously needs to get checked out by her doctor. The way her eyes bulge out is one of the major signs of thyroid disease.

jill and betheney could have a chance at reconnecting if luanne were out of the picture. luanne will never allow jill to make up with betheney.

luanne is a snake.

I was at an awards ceremony last week at which LuAnn was one of the guests. I was next to her several times but could not bring myself to speak to her on account she is my least favourite housewife and I really really wanted to give her a bollocking over her behaviour but, Countless or not, my manners are better than hers!

I could understand why Jill was upset in the beginning but she's really taken this way too far and now she's got the nerve to write an advice book?? and the way she keeps saying she treated Bethany like a daughter, God forbid her own daughter upsets her she'll be disowned!

I'm very impressed with how thorough those cameramen are, I mean why has no-one mentioned the scene with Bethany on the loo with no knickers on, holding her pregnancy spool??

The men in this series really should be commended - the crap they have to put up with and they're still in the marriage! That's probably why the Count left in the first place!

It is really sad that Kelly's kids seem more together than Kelly herself.

It is really sad to see LuAnn shop for an apartment but she really needs to stop asking for apologies and playing the violin.

Oh Jill Oh Jill... again where did it all go wrong? I love her sucralose reaction on bethenny's engagement. I just wanted Bethenny to punch her.
