'American Idol' quick 'n dirty: Aaron Kelly not 'Already There'
The Top 8 men were very middle-of-the-road (save Aaron Kelly, who was terrible) until Michael Lynche gave a ridiculously good performance to end the night.This is Zap2it's quick 'n dirty initial reaction to the Top 8 men's performances. Check out the full recap live here for all our thoughts on the last semi-final performance.
The Highlights: ... I didn't have one until Michael Lynche. Not that they were all bad, but nobody was "WOW" until Lynche. He did very well on an incredibly hard song.
The Lowlights: Aaron Kelly needs to go. That vocal was painful. Also, Andrew Garcia's "Genie In a Bottle" didn't work at all, but we'll get into that in the longer recap.
The Lights: Casey James got back on track, even if he wasn't super. Tim Urban is 100% safe because he's the Cutest Boy in All the Land who has hung around while not doing very well. He finally gave a good performance, so his fans must be going crazy, even if on a sliding scale of "Hallelujah" performances it was utterly mediocre. Todrick Hall may have put himself back in the race with a great vocal on a hard song.

Aaron Kelly picked the wrong song, but it was still hella better than Andrew Garcia. Dude has had 3 weeks of chances. Let him go...
I thought Todrick was really good, although I understood what Kara was saying when it sounded like two different songs or styles at times.
Get rid of mullet dude and the little boy. Keep Andrew and Todrick for one more week, if only to temporarily delay to the ethnic cleansing mentioned in last week's article. Then we can get to the top 12 and boot off all these horrible guys before we even start eliminating girls.
And why do the judges insist on putting these 16 year old boys in the top 24? They always make it too far and they're never any good.
idk...i must be deaf because i like aaron kelly...he might not be perfect but I think he has an amazing voice

and tim urban does not deserve to stay because he had one decent night

I like Aaron.For 16 he is good.oh sorry they really all suck ,the boys are a little better then the girls, where did they find these singers this seasons has the worst singer then any other season.If this is all america has to offer as singers, it really is time american idol went off the air. If I have it on my daughterS (12, 14, 16 ,20) says they all suck ,so we change the channel. goodbye next season to simon( I love simon ,he is the only good thing on that show,Kara is awful and really need to keep her big mouth shut, everytime she opens it there is nothing worth listen too,and who the hell is she anyway. my children and I have never ever heard of her before this.Also goodbye american idol next season and it is about time it went off the air.
This seasons guys suck. All the young ones perform like awkward dorky geeks & can't sing worth a crap. "Great tone" my butt! Andrew Garcia is a boring one-trick pony with little range in his voice recycling Jose Feliciano,s schtick from over 30 years ago. Absolutely nothing to get all excited about.
That Aaron sucks he is fugly that poor white boy cannot sing get him off in a hurry.
Stop being mean to Aaron. Every contestant has a rough night. He's done great every week. Maybe he didn't do perfect ONE night he is still insanely good. Give him a break! I voted for hm and clearly so did other people. Just because u have nothing better to do than down on people when they make a mistake doesn't mean he sucks. He was still good compared to most. I for one am voting for hm all the way. :) I LOVE U AARON KELLY! UR AWESOME!
