'24': Sedition is the name of the game
Now that the ultimate fate of "24" has been decided, we have only 11 more hours of Jack Bauer savory goodness.Of course Dana is the mole. Only with that ludicrous plot to start the season could it lead to killing Bill Prady (no, not that one) just to keep her cover. She continues to feed Team Samir information that keeps them one step ahead of the government. Cole on your tail? Disable the satellite for 30 seconds. Need optimal placement for the device to kill as many Americans as possible? Divert Tarin to the Upper West Side. Good thing she wasn't targeting those Gossip Girls... there'd be brooding heck to pay, I say!
Naturally, Samir doesn't want to kill Americans -- just President Hassan. He even assures President Taylor of this when he calls her in the middle of her Security Council meeting. With an entire room of learned men and women listening in, she stands by the plan of not giving in to terrorists. For some reason, not everybody in the room agrees with this, most notably, Rob, Tim and Gen. David Brucker. They say if giving up Hassan ensures the safety of all Americans, then why not provide what Samir has asked for. Taylor continues to dismiss the ransom note, saying if the terrorists attack, they will "deal with it." On these grounds alone, the general rustles up support for his plan by adding Rob to the rolls. He even quotes Nuremberg Principle IV to really drive the point home.
Meanwhile, despite Dana's evil plans, the fight at CTU continues. Brian is rightly upset that America is going to hell on his watch, so he stresses that CTU is the last line of defense in a battle to keep the nuclear device from detonating. Half of his force is looking for the bomb, while Jack is specifically assigned by the president to transport Hassan to the base in New Jersey. This is, of course, easier said than done. While the transport is taking place, Gen. Brucker and Rob invade Ethan Kanin's computer for all the files needed to stop the transport.
The only flaw in the plan: The good general seems to be the only person in the world not to know how dangerous Jack Bauer is. Ethan busts in and tries his best to warn Jack of the impending attack but suffers a mighty convenient heart attack right before he can get any words out. The aborted phone call dials Jack's paranoia meter to 11, so he turns the Hassan caravan around ... except it's too late.
An epic gun battle ensues with smoke bombs, elevated shooting and even President Hassan saving Jack's life. Despite Kayla twisting her ankle, the family emerges unharmed. When Jack goes to question the motives of a member of the attack force, he's noticeably surprised by the American accent. The heat is on, now! Samir learns that Hassan will likely not be turned over to him, so he instructs Tarin to start the countdown on the device. I guess we'll learn the fate of the Upper West Side in next week's two-hour epic showdown!

I was expecting the reveal of Dana being a terrorist to make the character more interesting but the character still seems a little boring to me. Don't get me wrong I really do like Katee but I think I'd like the character more if she had started the season out in the field which is strange because during the first season I liked Nina before she was revealed as a mole and I like Chloe who is mainly in CTU so maybe it was just the storyline they had for Dana in the beginning...I guess one could make the argument that the character's a terrorist so were not really supposed to like her.
'My team is an elite team that will take Bauer by suprise' says the general. SCRIBBLE SCRIBBLE SCRIBBLE That sound you here is his men's death warrants being signed.
The Kanin scene reminded me of the awful Alan Millikan heart attack scene from Season 3 where Julia and Sherry didn't give him his tablets and let him die
Last night's 24 was the usual. I agree completely with Marc's comments that the heart attack/pills was reminiscent of at least one prior scene.
I think the problem I am having with Dana/Jenny/Katee is just that she is not a good actress. Frankly they have not given her a good role, but she could still have an "edge". Thus far she has moved her hair, talked with an ex on the parking lot, handed off keys to her apartment, gone on a manhunt out of the office, helped folks to the goods in an armed evidence locker, changed clothes, pushed a van into the river, lied to everyone known at CTU, aided terrorists, killed Prady and stuffed him in a panel in a holding room, etc. - none of those things has she done convincingly.
Cannot wait for Jack and/or Chloe (and possibly Arlo and maybe even Brian Hastings) to give her some real justice. PLEASE don't send her to prison as that is too good for her! Looking forward to next week's show and glad your recap let me know it is two hours...
I saw in next weeks preview that ex president Charles Logan is back. I get the feeling that Dana is working for him. I base this on the fact she told Samir " I was told to help you not blow my cover".
President Hassan saving Jack was the highlight of the episode for me. As for Dana... I am just itching to jump through the screen and tell Chloe to blow her head off. Congratulations to Katee because I don't usually get that worked up about villains, so she must be doing something right.
Did anyone else see the shark that was jumped over last week on 24? I'm glad it's finishing, it was getting old, the 24 of yesteryear was WAAAAAAAAAAAYYY Better!! You should watch Human Target, it's better than 24.
I enjoyed '24' overall last night the stupid plot hole of Dana being a mole was blown last week. Honestly, she meek and mild for twelve hours, then she's ruthless and cold acting. If the little twerp who flies the drones was the mole, I'd buy; but Dana was a complete shark jump.
Still loved Jack taking out that "elite" team.
Now just waiting for Chloe to out Dana.
I know the writers are having a hard time being fresh. But I'm waiting for Jack Bauer to seduce a woman for information. That hasn't been done yet and would be a twist. And no, I don't care for the 'Dana' character either.
the best part of about this show ending is people will stop saying that the show jumped the shark every week
