melissa-morgan-biggest-loser-s9-320.jpgIt's cross-promotion Olympic week on "The Biggest Loser!" Time to subject the contestants to a bunch of embarrassing exercises that only a world-class athlete could ever do.

(By the way, open this link in a new window and turn your speakers up!)

The show won't be on for the next couple weeks, so NBC has sent the gang to Colorado to meet up with the world's best skiers and ice skaters and such. But really, 98 percent of the viewers (as well as the contestants) have never heard of any of them. It was still pretty awesome to see the awe on their faces when they saw the large quantities of food the athletes get to eat. Jealous much?

The mini-challenge involves some speed-skater dude. He teaches everyone how to use a board where they have to slide back and forth. It's kind of like when your mom mops the kitchen and you go and play barefoot in the bubbles. Right away, the players start falling left and right (complete with embarrassing sound effects). The Red and Gray teams are out in the lead, like always. It comes down to Mellissa and Sam for first place. Sam narrowly beats her thanks to a well-timed fall. She comes in second, followed by Sunshine. They win the respective "medals" and are forced to stand on a cheesy podium and pretend to be patriotic.

Their wins give them advantages in the challenge. It's a biathlon where they have to run a lap then shoot a laser gun at someone else's five targets. The last person out wins immunity. The fun part was that the winners of the mini-challenge used up their advantages on each other, essentially shooting themselves in the foot. In a challenge like this, everyone always wants to get the strong players out first. That's what makes it fun; people like Darrell, Miggy, and O'Neal are fighting for immunity. O'Neal's precision helps him seal the victory and the guy celebrates like he just won the Publisher's Clearing House grand prize.

OK, fun time in the Rockies are over. It's back to the warm weather of SoCal and a visit to their local 24-Hour Fitness. A figure skater dude gives them a nice little workout that makes me vow to never go to the gym again. That looked painful.

sam-poueu-biggest-loser-s9-320.jpgMore surprises! This week's weigh-in will send two people home. Along with the yellow line, we'll also see a red line. Falling below that will instantly send you home. So it's best to avoid that if possible. How does one avoid that? Well, gaining weight is certainly not the answer. I'm talking to you, Melissa. That's right; she actually gained a pound and was sent home immediately. After we all finished our happy dances, we wait to see who the second player going home is. It's definitely not going to be Sam, Miggy, or Daris, who had the biggest weight losses. Narrowly missing the yellow line were Stephanie with a four pound loss and Sherry with only three pounds. But it was Darrell and Cheryl who end up in the bottom.

Here's where shiz gets weird. Instead of a vote, Alison Sweeney takes everybody outside to make Darrell and Cheryl compete in a challenge. They have to balance a stem thingy on their heads to keep the giant torch on fire. We watch this unfold until a stupid "To Be Continued" graphic crosses the screen. So now we have to wait three darn weeks to see the second person voted off. So really, two people are sent home on the next episode and only one person was sent home. It's too confusing. On the bright side, after the Olympics it's Blue vs. Black! This is when the drama goes down like clockwork. See you then.

Thanks for sharing the useful information with me.

Great post and draw. Thank you for sharing.

I know there are huge debates over whether or not Melissa water-loaded the first two weeks. I believe she did the first week because she pretty much admitted it. Now, with this gain, I don't believe she did the 2nd week. I don't know what is going on with her body, but I don't think it was due to water-loading.

I am annoyed with the Survivor-like challenge. They should have voted. Especially since Darrell has such bad knees. That is pretty much guaranteeing his going home. That seems highly unfair.

I wouldn't mind if Cheryl goes home simply because I feel like I don't know anything about her since the whole show has been focusing so much on red/green.

Wow, does Miggy seem like a completely different person now that Migdalia has gone home.

So red/Melissa cheated this week right?

Jillian and Bob owe her and Lance an apology.

They accuse her of not working hard, but when someone else didnt lose weight it was stress. SCIENCE.

I hate that they didn't show us the conclusion this week. Argh!

I did like that this challenge gave some of the others who aren't usually front-runners a chance.

Melissa messed with her system big time. She obviously watered down both of those other weeks. Then because everyone was on to her, she allowed the big weight loss from last week.
She knew she was not going to win this competition. She was ready to go home with the kids. So I believe she may have watered down again to save face. "See, I gained....I couldn't have watered down before because now it happened again. Now I have to go home so it must be something wrong with me."
Either that or she took laxatives last week and after her body tries to adjust, she ends up gaining a pound because her body doesn't know what the heck she's doing to it.

This show was preempted by the SuperBowl Victory Parade in New Orleans, LA and The Gulf Coast Region (It on on WDSU TV). Is there a new time for these viewers to be able to watch this episode? We look forward to this show every Tuesday night. Kindest Regards from a dedicated viewer.

Bob and Jillian don't owe Melissa anything. She waterloaded yet again!! She knew she couldn't win becuase she wasn't fat enough to start with, so she drank a bunch of water this week to throw the weigh in to make it LOOK like she wasn't lying the first two times around when she certainly was.

Pat Cook Wilson - you can watch previous episodes at www.nbc.com. I use it all the time. While there, feel free to check out the gift shop, they have wonderful apparel and paraphernalia.

With their calorie restricted diet and that workout it's impossible to gain unless you've been doing something you weren't supposed to or have a cyst or tumor. Muscle does not weigh more than fat. Miggy carried extra lbs of salt water after surgery plus stress and still managed to lose. No one else had a plus weight. Drink half a gallon of water to save face and leave the show.
