Bree-Orson-Desperate-Housewives-Recap-320.jpgIn this week's "Desperate Housewives," the women of Wisteria Lane realize that they may be the cause of their own problems.

Lynette checks in with her feelings (finally)
Lynette and Tom have dinner over at Lee and Bob's place. When the guys get into a fight in front of their guests and Lee stops to write in a "Feelings Journal," they admit they're seeing a counselor. Tom thinks that may be good for him and Lynette. Of course, Lynette isn't game and she expresses her feelings on counseling in front of Lee and Bob with some pretty offensive terms. Nice one, Lynette.

Later, she catches Tom writing in his own "Feelings Journal." Turns out he has started seeing Lee and Bob's therapist. She's very interested in seeing what he's writing about, but he won't let her read it. Hmmm, if I know Lynette, she's going to read it anyway, especially with Tom saying things like, "Oh, I would know if you read it."

I was wrong about Lynette reading the journal. She does one better. Lynette buys her way into an appointment with Tom's therapist. Yay! The therapist is Jane Leeves from "Frasier." Excellent cameo! When Lynette and the therapist get into it, she realizes that she has to come to terms with losing her baby. Later when Tom gets home, she lets him know that she will also be going to therapy and (aha!) she has her own "Feelings Journal."

Bree vs. Orson
Bree continues to force her kindness on Orson. At the same time, Orson continues to make outrageous demands on Bree and using guilt to make her comply. After he orders her to serve him a waffle, she asks him to say please. When he refuses, she eats some of it in front of him and then places it out of his reach. Good for you, Bree.

Later, when the physical therapist comes to see Orson, she finds him on the floor. Orson is setting Bree up. He tells her that Bree is withholding food from him. Later when Bree explains, the P.T. seems to understand. She tells Bree that she needs more patience, because Orson is taking out his frustration on her. The P.T. then warns Bree that if she can't find more patience, she will have to turn her into the authorities.

Later, Bree and Orson get into an argument where he calls her a whore. In retaliation, Bree pushes him outside and hoses him down. Pretty crazy move! Orson then blows up at her and tells her that she has no clue what life is like for him now. After seeing him in that vulnerable state, Bree softens and asks him to forgive her. That scene was nuts. I felt a little uncomfortable watching it. I think that means it was really well done, no?

Angie vs. Ana
After last week, Ana and Danny have started hanging out. At dinner at the Bolen house, Ana tells Angie that she doesn't eat carbs. Um, you don't say that in front of an Italian mom who just slaved over a rigatoni dish for you. Ana also tells Angie that she isn't going to college, because she's going to be a model in New York City and that she's trying to convince Danny to follow his dream of being a writer. Angie isn't happy about the influence Ana may be having on Danny.

Angie has decided she's going to split them up. When she talks to Lee, he tells her that she'll push Danny away from her and closer to Ana. He tells her to get closer to Ana, instead. Later, she takes Ana to bond over shopping. It backfires, though, when Ana tells Angie that she understands Danny. She then tells Angie that she doesn't care what she thinks, because she's not going anywhere.

Gabrielle and Susan's kids are animals
At Juanita and M.J.'s school, the kids are separated into groups named after animals. Gaby visits Susan and tells her that Juanita was placed in the "Leopard" group. When Susan reacts strangely to hearing about Juanita's placing and shows her the difference between the art projects from kids of different groups, Gaby realizes her daughter is probably in the "slow" group.

Gaby goes to the school's principal to find out what Juanita's group placement means. He refuses to tell her, but she runs into Juanita and her friends outside his office. They're in different animals groups, so Gaby fools them into showing her each of their math assignments. After analyzing the assignments, she realizes Juanita is in the advanced group and M.J. is in the slow group.

When Susan comes over to offer Juanita some math books to help her catch up, Gaby can't take it anymore. She lets Susan know that M.J. is really in the slow group. I think Gaby had to do it. Don't you think Susan was being condescending? Later, she talks to Mike about M.J. being in the slow group. Mike is pretty sure his son is fine, but both of them can't help but see their son differently now. When Susan visits M.J.'s teacher, she spills the meaning of the animal groups in front of other parents. Later, Susan and Gaby are called to the principal's office. It's hilarious seeing them sitting alongside another kid in trouble for eating glue. As they wait, the women discuss their reasons for being so competitive and realize they're the problem, not the animal group assignments. Then, they start talking about the reading group's animal assignments and the cycle begins again.

Katherine comes around and so do the other gals
We join Katherine as she's talking to a therapist about her breakdown. She explains how she began pretending that Mike was still with her and then the delusions got out of control. Now, she can see that she has ruined her life.

Mrs. McCluskey comes to visit her in the hospital and tries to convince Katherine that she should return to the neighborhood. Katherine definitely has her wits about her again, because she knows that can't be true after all the lives on Wisteria Lane that she has affected.

Later, Mrs. McCluskey returns to prove her point. She drives it home when the other housewives, including Susan, join her. Was that touching or what?

Lame ep. overall Lynette's story was good, I wonder if Tom was trying to manipulate her to go to therapy. And it was good to see Jane Leeves.

I was wondering if Angie started liking Ana because of her attitude. Obviously Danny's attracted because she has a mouth like his mom.

Bree hosed him since he reeks, I barely thought it crazy given his attitude and reek. Biggest problem is Bree needs to say she's helping because she cares about him, not just brown-nosing god.

Gaby was cute and when Carlos gave the nod, I did agree Susan needed a spanking. The MJ stuff was cute. Susan started the whole problem, I'm very tired of her and the show pretending she's not abhorrent.

I love Dana Delaney and would be on board with rehabing her. If they are just rehabing her enough so they can get her strangled I'll be ticked. None of those women have acted like a friend to Katherine so no loss, move to Boston.

Hmm, I still apparently care enough to watch and comment. I suppose a good sign.

What's pathetic is that Bree thinks that by taking care of her newly paraplegic soon-to-be ex that that will erase her sin of cheating in god's eyes. No christian religion says that. And she's supposed to be so intelligent. My fear is that they are going to end up with the lame story of him getting his legs back and hiding it from her in order to stay. Boring. Angie and Ana are both on my last nerve. And the obsession of Gaby and Susan kids as well. Ep was definitely a snooze

Very good recap except you didn't mention how Orson wouldn't bathe and THAT'S why Bree wheeled him outside, poured dish soap over him and hit the hose. He did instigate it by calling her a ***** though. I wasn't uncomfortable at all watching Bree do that. I said "OMG!" and laughed. I too have been harassed by men in wheelchairs and didn't hold back my feelings.

I also loved the ending when all the housewives came to hug Katherine. Very sweet and forgiving moment.

I just have to comment on Dana Delany's acting at the beginning of the episode. In the span of about 20 seconds, she went from just talking about her condition without emotion, and then ran a full gamut of emotions, until tears were streaming from her face... wow. She's amazing.

The whole Bree-Orson story doesn't make sense. It is not her fault that a plane crashed and he got hurt. Who's to say that he wouldn't have been in that house even if Karl weren't? Also, she cheated on him because he was a bad husband--manipulative, dishonest, and greedy--and he made her feel guilty for his prison term when he was actually guilty of the crime of running over Mike Delfino with a car. It makes no sense for her character to continue forgiving him. I find this relationship to be a major flaw in the show.

sooo what were the meanings of the animal groups?
