Brothers-Sisters-ABC-Cancer-Kitty-Robert-Nora-320.jpgOn this week's "Brothers & Sisters," we find out if Kitty survived her collapse in Malibu, Ryan is on the run and Robert gives up his.

Cure for Kitty?
The Walkers are gathered in the ER waiting room when Robert arrives from D.C. Nora tells him that Kitty's collapse was caused by a blood clot in her lung. He goes to her straight away. When Nora joins him in Kitty's room, he admits that he feels awful that he went to D.C. instead of attending the wedding.

When Kitty wakes up, he confronts her about not telling him that her tumors have grown. If he had known, he would have never gone to D.C. She tells him that her collapse had nothing to do with the tumors, but, of course, that doesn't make him feel any better.

Later, Kitty's doctor tells her, Robert and Nora that the fast growth of the cancer worries her. She says there are two options: They can put Kitty on yet another round of chemotherapy or she can get a bone marrow transplant. Kitty decides to go for the risky transplant. If successful, she could be cancer free. The whole Walker clan get tested to see if they're a match, except one...

Ryan can't escape.
Ryan is nowhere to be found. Earlier, Holly confronted Ryan about ruining the lower-quality wine batch. Turns out that they were able to isolate the time in which the wine was tampered with and security cameras captured Ryan's car as the only one in the lot at the time. Of course, Ryan denies he did it.

Later, in an abuse of his political power, Robert has a cop dispatched to bring Ryan in to the hospital. After getting tested, the hospital identifies Ryan as a match. Again, though, Ryan can't be contacted. Nora decides to go to his apartment where she walks in on him packing his belongings. After telling Ryan he's a match, he argues with her about his responsibility to the family and how disposable he feels. Nora catches on quickly and realizes that he's acting out of anger at what his father did to his mother.

Robert makes mysterious visits to Westwood.
In an effort to avoid any surprise dirt Robert's gubernatorial contenders may dig up on him, Kevin has Robert followed. Robert, though, has already picked up on the fact that someone is following him. He asks Kevin to find out who it is and bring an end to it.  When Kevin fires the spy, the man gives him photos of Robert visiting some woman in Westwood. When Kevin confronts Robert about the visits, Robert is insulted when Kevin insinuates the visits are adulterous. They get into this hilarious fight in the hospital hallway. Hilarious, since not one punch is thrown. It's basically a very sloppy wrestling match. After Saul and Nora break them up, Robert confesses that the woman is a therapist he has been seeing to help him deal with Kitty's cancer.

Kitty had an adulterous affair.
Kitty tells Sarah that she had an affair with a famous married politician when she first moved to D.C. Turns out they wrote letters to each other for a while, which Kitty has been hiding in a shoebox in her closet. She fears that if she dies, Robert will find them. She asks Sarah if she can get the box for her. After Sarah finds them, Kitty refuses to tell Sarah who the politician is. Of course, Sarah can't leave it alone, so she peeks inside the box to find out who it is. Later, she can't help but tell Justin and Kevin, as well. After all, The Walkers are good at two things: Laughing during stressful situations and gossiping.

All's well?
Ryan changes his mind and returns to the hospital to go through with the bone marrow donation. Before Kitty goes through with the transplant, she and Robert renew their vows. "'Till death do us part" is especially poignant in this scene. After the operation, Kitty's doctor says that Kitty's body accepted the transplant. All they can do is wait.

Three weeks later, The Walkers huddle around a TV set as Robert makes a speech. He announces that Kitty is in remission. He then withdraws from the gubernatorial race, so he can spend more time with his family. Later that night, Kitty destroys the love letters from the famous politician in her first step in moving on with her post-cancer life.

Now that Kitty is recovering, do you think Robert can really control his political ambitions? And, will Ryan still try to run away before Holly has him arrested for the wine caper?

Next week: Simon is back! While Nora welcomes him with open arms, Sarah tries to dig up dirt.

Thank you for recapping something other then the reality shows. I was very close to just stop looking at your link.

I loved the way Nora took charge and doled out the assignments in the waiting room at the beginning.

Also, the way they jumped forward made me think that Kitty wasn't going to make it. I thought a preview said that. I also thought the pictures of Robert were going to wind up in his competitor's camp after Kevin fired the investigator.

So who was the famous politician?!? I'm dying to know!
Also, I think maybe Kitty will run for governor now?

Nora: I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad your father cheated on me.

Best quote of the night!

I'm surprised there are almost no replies.

I thought it was a beautiful and emotional episode. Really enjoyed it!

I hope we'll see a more human side of Ryan from now on as well. I'm done with Ryan as the bad guy.

William's folly saves one of the Walkers. I almost wish he didn't die in the series premiere. He has provided so much storylines for this family. Hopefully now, they let Justin do better in Medical School and have a lovely wedding for Rebecca before she has the baby.

Agree with Linda. Who needs reality shows? B&S and DW are the greatest and I love reliving the episodes.

I think Callista should get an Emmy nomination (and win) for this performance. My mom passed away from cancer when I was a child, and her scene with Evan . . . I can't put into words what it felt like to see a mother in position connect and need her son like that.

This show always makes me cry and this episode didn't fail me. The final (or near final) scene when Kitty was with Nora just made me lose it. I just love that they cast Sally Field as Nora and every episode I am grateful for it. The Robert-Kevin fight was HILARIOUS and how upset Kitty was that she missed it. I hope Rebecca and Justin get there wedding soon. And YAY for Ryan for finally being a good human being!

OK, I meant "their" wedding instead of "there." I can't believe I made that mistake... it's one of my pet peeves!
