tomwelling_smallville_290.jpg"Smallville" continues to introduce characters from the vast Superman universe... this week: Wonder Twin powers activate!

Lois and her trippy, sexy, post-apocalyptic dream again... and this time, Clark is there to call her on leaving him for 15 minutes. She is only so eager to sign for an unknown package if it changes the subject. And how! The mystery box contains bound and gagged undercover police officers swimming in drugs, with a giant "S" on the building across the street to boot. Seems Metropolis has "Blur posers" trying to fulfill their hero worship by helping the guy out. Next up is the nefarious district attorney Ray Sacks, playing with his seemingly ill-gotten diamonds until a lion causes the limo driver to skid on ice that came out of nowhere. Why yes, it is indeed the Wonder Twins here to save the day. Unfortunately for them, they kill power to Metropolis in the process AND he loses his phone.

It doesn't take Clark too long to track down the twins once he finds the phone. He transports them to Watchtower where Chloe threatens them to within an inch of their lives if they squeal about what they've seen. Meanwhile, because of all the unwanted attention, Clark believes he just has to reveal himself to the masses (ignoring the end result the last time he tried that.)

As for Lois, she's secretly been seeing a therapist on the side about her feelings for Clark (and the Blur to a certain extent.) The Holding Out for a Hero ringtone is a particularly nice touch. Lucy van Pelt tells Lois to focus her energy Clark. Of course, the antics of the Faux-Blur are making that easier than it sounds. Just as her frustrations boil over due to having to finish her story by typewriter, who else but the REAL Blur calls, taking some of the blame for the antics of the twins. All is well... until the Wonder Twin also known as Simon Camden bumps the call scrambling equipment at Watchtower, revealing Clark's true voice to Lois in the end!

ericadurance_smallville_290.jpgUnderstandably excited that Clark and the Blur are one and the same, she drives all the way out to the Kent Farm to show Clark her above-the-fold article. This is where they see on TV the evil DA encouraging the Blur to come forward and fight crime in the public eye. Sensing DA Sacks only wants to utilize the Blur to cover-up his own misdeeds, Lois fights to keep our hero on the down low. Chloe also tries to stop Clark from doing this... again. It's only after Lois commandeers the DA's microphone at the public assembly and reveals the Blur should remain anonymous because of the ugly political side that Clark backs down.

This doesn't help Lois in the meantime, as she's unwittingly lured to the Daily Planet roof by said evil DA. When she won't reveal her source of pleasure, the cronies throw her off the building, Peter Pan style. Unbeknownst to both Clark and Lois, the Wonder Twin also known as Claudia Donovan was a ladybug in disguise at the rally, so she warns the other and together... together they create enough of a diversion to allow for Clark to save Lois (hanging on for dear life) without her OR the public knowing his true identity. The icing on the cake is Chloe's forgery of Clark's Blur voice to throw Lois off track even more.

As for Ray Sacks, there's no way he'll leap to the mayor's office now, what with being mangled by a pit bull.

In the end, Clark teaches our hero worshippers A Very Valuable Lesson: believe in yourselves, but be careful as there's no room for mistakes. Chloe sees to it that Clark joins the Blur movement by awarding him his very own "S" branded coffee mug. As for our star-crossed lovers, well, Clark has a surprise for Lois: very large glasses. Seeing as how he's nearsighted (but trying to resist wearing them), Lois offers contacts as a viable alternative. He's touched Lois went as far as to think he was a super hero, which makes him all the more irresistible as they passionately make out yet again... but this leads to a repeat of her end-of-the-world dreams again. This time, she doesn't wake up.

Alright, I’m not trying to spark a wave of controversy over this but did this rube anyone else the wrong way? This episode featured The Wonder Twins as two Caucasian characters when The Wonder Twins have always been depicted as both two black characters. It’s bad enough that there is no longer any ethnic representation in characters on the show Smallville anymore to begin with but now I’m starting to suspect racism with this show. Would it have really been that difficult to type-cast for these characters in order to stay true to the comics and fans or was it really that hard to imagine going from zero ethnic characters to two in one episode. This kind of thing just bothers me; does it to anyone else?

Am I really watching Smallville? I'm in Clois heaven here. Tom & Erica have become the absolute best Lois & Clark and I adored Dean & Teri's LnC. The producers must have been doing their homework because they got Lois 100 percent in Idol. I cannot wait for Pandora. It feels like I'm watching a completely different show. It's now Smallville: Lois and Clark: the Beginning of Superman. Fantastic episode.

Black? The Wondertwins were never black. If they were any ethnicity they were asian.
As to the episode I liked it, kind of strange Clark putting his hand between theirs at the activate moment knocked them out. Though I think all of Lois's flashes of a red sun means we can pretty well guess what the Rao corporation intends with that power plant. Still not sure Zod is kneel worthy, but you got to respect his ambition.

Sorry, I can't stand Lois(ED), was looking forward to an episode focusing on more of the main story arc.

Then don't watch. If you haven't realized that Smallville was always meant to be about Clark becoming Superman and that Lois is his destiny well then just don't even watch. Erica is the best Lois ever.

I'm still watching it for the main story arc. It'd be stupid not to watch because of some annoying parts of the show. It's not because of 'Clark and Lois' factor, it's more of I dislike the casting for Lois's part (Erica Durance) of which I've lamented over the years and now the frustration builds up as it's now more and more about Clark & Lois. But I've to be honest, the excitement for this show has decreased a lot for me ...

The Wonder Twins were actually aliens, actually. Along with their space monkey Gleek. So no racism here.

Yep the Wonder Twins are asin looking aliens with pointed ears, bright purple eyes, and black dark hair.

Martian Manhunter is supose to be a green alien guy that has a secret idenity of a bumbling, fat, white, detective.

So by smallville standards they got them close enouth, in attitude, hair, and eye color....Now if Apachi Chief or Black Lightnig pop up as white guys then you may have a case.

Good episode. Writers did a great job on the Wonder Twins including the casting. I am happy to see ED get more airtime. ED deserves it. I think she is fantastic as Lois. Nice touch at the end where this time Lois initiates the kiss.

I am absolutely loving this season, it has truly become must see TV. ED has Lois down wonderfully and is just great with super TW.

My only complaint, when did Chloe get sooooo bossy? AM is a favorite but they need to have Chloe stop telling Clark what to do. Superman is as wise and intelligent as he Is strong. He has never needed an external conscious or a handler.
