derekhough_joannakrupa_dancingwiththestars_s9_290.jpgAfter a very even night of performances, tonight's "Dancing With the Stars" finals-determining results can go a lot of ways. Here's hoping I'm happy with how things shake out.

We start the show with Len introducing the encore, Mya & Dmitry Chaplin's Perfect 30 Salsa. I think this is the first time we've ever gotten a reaction shot and she was pleasently surprised they got the nod. Her solo still rocked.

Hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris then throw it to the confessional-filled recap. Kellly Osbourne admitted she totally ad-libbed her solo in the Rumba because she blanked on the choreography. Ah-ha! Very impressive, Ms. Osbourne.

Ten minutes in and everyone gets faked out that Tom and Samantha will be revealing some results. After they go down they line and say something about each celebtestant, they actually reveal that they'll be waiting until later. Gasps and boos from the audience.

Back from a commercial, Filler #1 features the remaining couples talk about all the other couples and saying nothing but nice things. Samantha then interviews the Final Four and doesn't cut anyone off or flub any questions.

Next up, we get the dance number "Be Italian" from the upcoming musical "Nine." Fergie is in the movie and this is her track/number but she isn't on hand. Instead, dancing the lead is Carmit Bachar formerly of the Pussycat Dolls. And if it's not her, then it's someone who looks an awful lot like her. It was a cool number what with the tambourines and gyspy-ish costumes.

Alicia Keys performs next with her new single "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart" with two sets of dancers. It's a good song, though I'll have to hear it again to really make a decision. But she always has good songs. It's the radio stations that drive them into the ground that ruin things for me.

Filler #2 features the Final Four in a "music video" lip-syncing to the house band's take on Queen's "Under Pressure." Joanna Krupa & Derek Hough and Mya & Dmitry are brought out on stage to finally find out if they're in the finals. Mya & Dmitry are in! YAY! They jump around and hug. Joanna & Derek go to hug them...and must wait to hear their fates. Wah-waaaaah.

After another break, Leona Lewis takes a special up-lit platform to perform her new single "Happy." She's got eight dancers getting their Contemporary on on the foggy dance floor around her. I really like her voice and the song is solid, though I wonder if she'll ever do a song that faster than mid-tempo.

kellyosbourne_louisvanamstel_dancingwiththestars_s9_290.jpgNow Donny Osmond & Kym and Kelly & Louis Van Amstel are on stage. And, as I predicted last night, Donny & Kym are in the finals. I don't remember how they divvy up the voting points so, with Joanna having a three-point lead, it may or may not be a done deal.

The Bee Gees, celebrating their 50th anniversary (!), perform "You Should Be Dancing" next up. The whole audience and the judges are on their feet shaking it. The pros this number are Cheryl Burke, Chelsie Hightower, a gentleman whose name I don't know and Tony Dovolani with special guest (and Tony's former celeb partner) Melissa Rycroft. Interestingly, Melissa's dancing barefoot. Regardless, she does very well. Nice to see her back and uninjured.

Filler #3 has the pros talking about putting together the pro numbers. They cover how hard it is to have some many ideas on the floor and having as little as 45 minutes to put something together. Despite any problems, they all have lots of fun doing it.

Okay, it's been a super-full show and now it's time for the last and biggest results of the night. Joanna & Derek are on stage alongside Kelly & Louis and, after yet another excruciating, time-killing commercial break, we get some kind thoughts from Len on both celebtestants.

After all is said and done, Joanna & Derek have been eliminated. Kelly was shocked and happy and crying at the same time. Joanna takes the elimination well and thanks everyone for the opportunity. Instead of getting a quick-go-to-credits-dance, Joanna & Derek perform their Viennese Waltz from last night as a farewell.

Wow. I can't say I was really surprised but I kind of am. How about you? Shocked by the results? Surprised they had enough time for a dance after 38 musical numbers and filler packages? Any other thoughts you want to share?

i'm so happy with the results!

I adore her but Kelly should have been eliminated. Joanna is a better dancer. Less likeable but definitely a better dancer.

I think Kelly has come along way, however, she should have been eliminated. Joanna is a far better dancer.

Yip Yip Yippeeeee!

I absolutely agree with Kim. Joanna should have not been eliminated. She is unquestionably much better dancer then Kelly. Perhaps she should have not said last night that she has already exceeded her expectations. Maybe that made her not "hungry" enough in some eyes. Anyway, she is number one in my book.

I believe Kelly's determination and desire to improve made her very likeable and you all must know by now this is not about who dances the best. This is about their self discovery and improvement while learning new skills under an incredible amount of pressure and Kelly, Donny and Mya deserve to be where they are, above all Mya who was able to overcome all the negativity that Len sent her way during the entire season.

I think that the fact that joanna got eliminated and not kelly prove that the last name is also important in the contest and this is ashame since joaana is amazing.
However i think that maya will win the contest!!!

IS THIS A JOKE OR FOR REAL ??
JOAANA IS MUCH BETTER DANCER THEN KELLY. THIS IS NOT A FAIR COMPETITION.
I DONT THINK THAT THIS SHOW IS ABOUT DANCING!

I agree with everyone here...that Joanna should have stayed in, but it should have been Donny that left (he screwed up the most this week). Secondly, as much as I love Joanna as a dancer, her Latin dances have started to look the same and have become kinda boring. I have seen the same moves for the past few weeks, and honestly, it doesn't impress me.

I'm so glad Kelly is in the finals. I never liked either one of the girls; Joanna is stuck up and Mya gives the impression she thinks she's above everybody else. I don't think it's necessarily about whose performance at this point is great. If that were it, Donny would have it hands down - look at his years of experience. I think who good a dancer the contestant has become over the course of the competitoin is very important. Look at Kelly Monaco from the first season and Emmitt Smith from a coupld of years ago. Neither of them were at the top of their game at the beginning of their respective seasons; in fact, the judges had all but written kelly off. If you go by talent alone, Gilles and Cheryl should've won last year. I reallyhope Kelly O. takes the trophy this year.
