'90210': Happy half-birthday, Silver
Tonight on "90210," Silver's half-birthday takes a sad turn.Silver, Jackie & Teddy
Silver is hard at work caring for her mom, complete with a scary schedule binder. Teddy helps Silver out by staying with Jackie while she runs out to the doctor. Jackie then throws Silver a make-up 7th birthday. The house is all space-themed because at 7 Silver wanted to be an astronaut. Then Jackie takes her to a make-up 12th birthday from when she was obsessed with the '80s. She says the nurses plus Teddy helped set it up. Awww.
The next day, Jackie is throwing Silver a real half-birthday party for all her friends. But when Silver wakes up on her half-birthday, Jackie is unresponsive. Uh oh.
Dixon & the Wilsons
Dixon isn't doing so well, he feels completely guilty about the way he treated Sasha and then she miscarried. The Wilsons decide to tell him about Sasha lying and Dixon gets mad at Debbie for not telling him. She says she didn't want him to not trust women and he snots back, "Well, now I know one woman I can't trust." Oh grow up, Dixon. He pouts and throws "you're not my real mom" in her face. Oh, I would slap the attitude right out of that child.
He goes surfing and ends up finding out that Liam didn't sleep with Annie, which he already knew but didn't believe. Jerk. To his credit, he does go to Annie to apologize and she's totally mean to him about Sasha, so he tells her to go to hell. Man, neither one of them has a leg to stand on, they've both been so mean to each other.
Ade & Navid
When Naomi wants to get Silver a birthday present, Ade says she's low on funds to kick in so Naomi gives Ade $150 to buy it. Ade uses the money to buy drugs from Jasper and Navid sees. Navid confronts Jasper about it and Jasper says she was paying him back for some lunch money she borrowed and that Navid should back off.
Ade spins a tale of a purse-snatcher to Naomi to explain the missing money, turning on the waterworks and everything. Naomi doesn't care about the money, she only cares about Ade's well-being. It's very sweet and makes me want to punch Adrianna.
Liam, Ryan & Ivy
Liam tries to apologize and Ryan tells Liam his stepdad was right -- Liam's a bad seed. Wow, that is SO unprofessional and immature. Mr. Mathews needs to pull his head out of his ass. Liam then bites Ivy's head off and later gets all lunatic-y at the beach, starting a fight with some other surfers.
Teddy, Dixon and Ivy go all After-School Special on him and Liam tells them what Jen Clarke has been doing. He says he doesn't know how to destroy Jen Clarke, which is RIDICULOUS because he had the audio of her confessing! Dumbass. Anyway, Dixon, Teddy and Ivy tell him they're gonna help destroy Jen. Awesome.
Liam then apologizes to Ivy for saying that she's not his girlfriend and Ivy tries to play it cool. He asks her to dinner, but it's kind-of a "buddy" invite and she declines but then says okay.
Jasper & Annie
Jasper gets Annie an audition for one of his producer dad's movies and when they rehearse, Annie says she loves him and he says he wanted to say it first. Man, I LOVE these two together. When Annie doesn't get the part, Jasper reassures her and he's all sweet and she says she wants him to be her first.
Thoughts & Tidbits
- With every passing week, I get more sad about where Annie and Jasper are headed. Am I making this up? I think Shanae Grimes and Zachary Ray Sherman have excellent chemistry together.
- I cannot WAIT to see what Teddy, Dixon and Ivy help Liam do to Jen Clarke. Anything short of public humiliation in front of both Ryan and Naomi, followed by getting hit by a bus and dragged half a mile will be a disappointment.
- Man, that last scene was a bummer. It's not quite Buffy's "Mom? Mom? Mommy?" but still sad.
- Dixon: I wish I'd get alerts that let me know when crazy girls are approaching.
Teddy: They've probably got an app for that.

As aw-worthy as the Silver-Jackie stuff might've been, there's two major problems:
-Silver was 8 when BH90210 ended in its 10th season. And from the time Silver was born through the end of the show, Jackie was very much a dedicated (and not drugged out) mother. So this stuff about her 7th birthday (like much of this storyline) is B.S.
-The conversation Silver and Jackie have towards of the end of it is pretty much a repeat of the convo Kelly and Jackie have in season 1 of BH90210. Jackie vowed to get sober and be there for daughter, and for the next 10 years she was. It's hard to believe that that a) all of a sudden changed and b) the show is trying to make it seem like it's not all of a sudden and was always the case.
Nevermind the fact they are killing a character that isn't theirs. I'm devastated for all the wrong reasons.
Also it was Teddy that said the app line, not Liam.
And One Tree Hill also did the daughter-finding-the-mother death scene.
Silver 8.(
Dixon she's your mother!!! What happened to you this yr. I demand an explaination, what's w/ you being an extra *** to people that don't deserve it. Annie I get, b/c she insulted you, but Debbie?, how are you going to pull the "Your not my mom" card...cold.
Liam ok WTF is your problem, you treat Ivy like trash.
Adrianna oh man... why! Just why!
Annie, No!
WTF is going on here?
why writers make dixon like that he was a totally sweetheart last year and now he act like a tool, please bring back Dixon season 1 c'mon! I know he was upset but it's your mom Dixon I feel really sad for Debbie!
it was cute the silver/jackie scene!
The fact that Dixon had been sneaking around, impregnating a grown woman and NOW has the audacity to give his parents grief for lying to him just makes him look like a spoiled twit.
Go Annie and Jasper!! They rock!
I think Jasper has been creepy from day 1...nevermind if him and Annie have chemistry together or not. I think/hope we have all pretty much figured out he was a "bad seed" from close to the beginning. He has her totally brainwashed and he knows she is vulnerable with no friends right now. She can't even talk to her own brother anymore. So NO these two are not great together. Break them up soon, so she can have a life of her own again.
I agree with all your points, love Annie & JAsper together. Can't wait to see Jen Clarke crumble and fall, she is a B***H character....Ryan was more than unprofessional, what a cry baby....
but I think the show has definitely gotten better.
Here's hoping that Annie & Dixon can recover and become sibs again.
And I love your recaps!
I agree about the chemistry between Annie and Jasper. Unfortunately, I can also see the climax of his "film" being a scene of a hit and run, complete with Annie having to recreate the accident. Although that would make him a total sociopath. I naively hope for some kind of redemption for Jasper since at least he has acting chops, and because he is hot ;). Anyway, with the "guess who's coming to dinner" (a drug dealer. Fun!) comical mood stemming from the trailer of next week's episode, it doesn't look like this drama will come to a head next week.
So tired of Ade and the drugs. Enough already. And, agreed, who the H are they to get rid of Jackie? Liam seems out of the loop unless this whole Naomi/Jen thing gets resolved and soon. Ryan is lame; he really should have been the spin-off character to the new Melrose, and dated the undercover cop -- she sure was more exciting as that than she is as lame Riley on there. Dixon is the same high-maintenance blonde beyotch he always was. I'm sure Lori Laughlin is thrilled to finally have something to do -- hear she was getting ready to walk. Annie makes me sick. She killed someone and ran (so she still thinks) and never came forward. How horrible is that? Jasper saw her reaction and decided to capitalize on it, since he killed his uncle and dumped the body. Unfortunately, producers saw what some numbnuts are saying, something about chemistry between the two and his acting ability (a rarity on this show) and maybe decided to take this in a different direction. Doesn't change the fact that Annie, as far as she knows, killed someone and has kept silent. Same old gross Annie. Ugh.
I think that Liam erased Jen's confession recording when he saw Naomi with another guy. (?)
@ FD -- Yep, you're right. Liam did erase it. They are going to have to come up with something pretty darn creative now to bring Jen down.
