jeremy.jpgTonight on "Heroes," some creepy redneck sheriffs do a Vicky Lawrence number on Jeremy the Healer.

Noah, Jeremy & Tracy

Noah is still in Georgia, where Jeremy has been arrested for killing his parents. The local sheriff is all "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" and wants to lock Jeremy up and throw away the key. So Noah calls Tracy for help. Woo woo. She pretends to be Jeremy's aunt and gets him to trust her.

The redneck cliche of a sheriff's deputy is still being a jerk about holding Jeremy. Samuel shows up and transports Tracy to the Karn Evil, showing her their "home" and trying to convince her it's a good place for Jeremy. Samuel gives her a magic compass so that she can find her way back if she needs to.  Also, Sylar (dressed in a kicky sailors outfit) sees Tracy and remembers her (from Nathan's memories).

When Tracy gets back, Noah has set up a residence in Washington DC for Jeremy near where he lives. Tracy is going to help him control his abilities and he'll attend a regular old high school. Of course, when they perp-walk him out of the Sheriff's station, a man lunges for Jeremy and Jeremy sucks the life out of him and is too scared to heal him. Jeremy walks back into the cop shop, where a deputy and a creepy redneck guy take him out back, chain him to a truck and drag his body. Oh my god, show.

Later, Tracy and Noah find his dragged body in the street. Tracy cries. She tells Noah to never call her again, but I predict they hook up during November sweeps. Tracy contemplates her magic compass thoughtfully.

The next day, Samuel comes to the town, eyes the bloodstain left from Jeremy's body and then levels the sheriff's station. Can't say I'm terribly disappointed.

Claire & Gretchen

Things are a tad awk-ward after the whole smooch. Gretchen apologizes and Claire says she doesn't want to mess up her new ordinary life, but she hesitates when asked if she only thinks of Gretchen as a friend. That's right, Claire. Go LUG. (Lesbian Until Graduation).

The Psi Alpha Chi sisters show up to kidnap them. I remember doing stuff like that, it was really fun. Of course, our sisters kidnapped us and took us out to breakfast. This isn't quiiiite the same thing. They throw Claire and Gretchen into the trunk of a car, which is all sexy and dark and sparks some "I don't knows" from Claire in regards to how she feels about Gretchen. Woo woo.

The Psi Alpha sisters take them to a Screamin' Scavenger hunt. Whichever team finds the "treasure" first gets to sit out Hell Week. We didn't have a Hell Week in my sorority, but I've heard stories and that goldfish crack is not hyperbole.

The girls have been taken to a slaughterhouse and have to solve all these puzzles to get out. Except Rebecca is following Gretchen and Claire and has it in for Gretchen. Gretchen thinks it's hazing, but Claire is suspicious. When Rebecca attacks them again, Claire fights Invisi-Girl and clashes her with a meathook, making her visible, just as the other two pledges get there. They see Rebecca turn back invisible and they see Claire get down from being impaled on a spike and heal herself. Maybe Claire can have a Scooby Gang now!

Matt Parkman

We join Matt and Janice getting freaky-deaky in front of a roaring fire, but Sylar takes over and Matt wakes up after it's over. Bummer. Matt decides he has to leave so that he can find out how to get Sylar out of his head. He calls Mohinder. Damn, I thought we were rid of that guy! Matt starts drinking beer and figures out that drinking weakens Sylar's presence in his head. Well, that's an interesting PSA. "Stop the demons in your head with alcohol."

So Matt gets all drunk on tequila and Sylar just lazes around, powerless.  Eventually Matt drinks enough that Sylar just fades away. Of course, at that moment his wife and his sponsor come home and find him three sheets to the wind. When he wakes up, he thanks his sponsor and agrees to start over. And now that he's not drunk anymore, Sylar is back. And he didn't just come back in Matt's mind, he stole Matt's body when Matt blacked out. So now Matt is the vision and Sylar is Matt Parkman.

Thoughts & Tidbits

  • Really crazy storyline with Jeremy, very effective.

  • Matt: You can't control me, you've never been able to do that.
Sylar: Well, I had a compelling reason. Let's face it, your wife is kinda hot.
    Matt: Enough!
Sylar: That is the second Parkman I made scream today. If you want I can give you some pointers later.

  • Rebecca: Geez Claire, you don't have go all Buffy on us. We're just kidnapping you.

Sounds like a good episode can't wait to get to watch.

It was a good episode. Heroes did something shocking by killing Jeremy the way they did. Did something scary but fun with Claire saving Gretchen's life, I like Gretchen, i hope she can become a regular. Did something unexpected and unwanted by having Matt call Mohinder, come on writers you know the show is better off Mohinder free. And did something stupid by having Matt try to drink skylar out of him stupid stupid stupid.

My theories, I like the Karn-Evil, it so interesting to me. I wonder where all of this is going to lead, by the way what is the Karn-Evil lead guys power. He certainly has the power of bringing his Carnival whereever he goes but he can also destroy building with his mind. i like Skylar when he is not chooping off heads lets hope this last all season.

Who will die, my money is on Matt, this thing with skylar is making him stupid, I can see him killing himself or someone else killing him. Besides Claire is too important, Hiro is cool, HR is a man on a serious mission, Mohinder has not been around and besides if MOhinder were to die who would really care. REally. So it must be Matt.

The Karn-evil guy's power is moving the Earth..it was shown in the first episdoe this season I think. he makes a big sink hole under the building and it just falls in.
I kept thinking they needed to do more with SYlar in Matt's head, this is gonna be cool to see what Sylar does now that he is in control

The whole Jeremy thing reminded me of the Supernatural episode where the guy died that same way and then his ghost is killing people by scaring them to death. Then Sam and Bobby scare the ghost to death by dragging his ghost behind the car the same way he died and then Dean recovers.

How does the Karn-evil appear and disappear the way it does? How did it appear to Sylar a couple of eps back, but the posse right behind Sylar not see it? How did it appear for Tracy in the middle of the town?

matt is a dead man. he has outlived his purpose already.

This show still blows. Every single minute Greg Grunberg is on screen is a waste of time. He can't act and having to watch his character get drunk was excessively boring. (Fat guy drunk,,,,OK)

Jeremy story effective - on what planet was that effective storytelling? This is the same garbage they've been shoving at us the entire series. This story was told to get us to the point of "you can't be in the open with powers" - the same place this show has been for four years. How is what the cops did any different from what Noah (possibly the worst and most weakly drawn character in the history of television) did in the previous story? You really couldn't be out in the open if your were being hunted down by a government agency either, hey Noah????

Cancel this program and start "Chuck" early!!!! Funny they still haven't aired a single promo for "Chuck" a show that is not going to have a single viewer when it returns because of this incredibly stupid hiatus.

All of the Clair stuff is also ridiculous. If all of that b.s. story didn't end in someone dead then what is the point? Really, who gives a frack? This is Painkiller Jane and they've made her a complete wimp.

"Heroes" blows, stop writing these recaps like it matters.

My problem with the show is:

the story telling is all over the place,
if they would have done 20 minutes increments for each story
line it would have made a lot of sense
instead we got the claire story set around 4;40 am "am I lesbo or not pillow talk"
and the next scene is around 4:30 pm
in a one street town for the
noah story and then it jumps to a time unknown for the matt story
and it keeps jumping around for not purpose at all,
3 different stories,3 different times, cos unless
something change there are NO 12 times zones in the USA

and Noah getting the fake ID
with a whole background in less than 10 minutes for Tracy
has got the be the stupidest writing ever!!!

bring CHUCK already!!!

Why do people read recaps of shows they already are determined to dislike? Just askin'

Tony I want the answer as well. "Heroes sucks because*info you only know because you watched the show*" BS. If you hate the show so much stop watching it. Heroes is a work of FICTION the writers can write whatever they want. They want WaterBoy who can also fly and turn items to gold.....even tho most Heroes only have 1 power....they can do it. Shoot for all the 'bad' writing why aren't you complaining that Nathan and Peter should be dead due to the thinness of the air or teh speed at which they fly would rip their skin off. Don't like the show stop watching and reading re-caps!
