'Desperate Housewives': Did Nick Bolen knock up Julie Mayer?

Tonight on "Desperate Housewives," the season-long mystery really gets rolling.

Julie Mayer
Julie is found unconscious in her yard by Karen McClusky and her new boyfriend Roy. She is (mostly) unconscious all episode. But we do find out via Lynette that Julie thought she was pregnant. Could it be that she had a romp with new older-man neighbor Nick and thought she was knocked up? Also, she briefly woke up and saw her father kissing Bree. Uh oh.

Lynette & Susan
Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman really knocked this one out of the park. Lynette has to spill that Julie might be pregnant because the doctor wants to do x-rays. Susan is understandably upset that Julie came to Lynette and really gets me with,"Lynette, my daughter is hooked up to a machine and a guy who is complicating her life, a guy that I didn't even know about, might've put her there. So I don't need to be fair!" Really nice scene by Teri and Felicity.

Then Lynette explains to Susan that the reason Julie spilled her secret is because Lynette spilled her secret about being pregnant. Susan is excited for Lynette, but Lynette tells her that she isn't sure she even wants to have the babies. It's as close as an "abortion" talk that they can get to. Susan assures Lynette that she isn't tell her what to do, but that she would give anything to get one more day as Julie's mom. It's an excellent scene and it had my waterworks going. Well done, Ms. Hatcher and Ms. Huffman.

Mike & Katherine
In the wake of Julie's attack, Katherine brings over a casserole, a hug, some of her cray-cray juice and a dash of desperation perfume. Mike spurns her advances, but Katherine tells Orson that Mike hit on her.

Bree & Karl
Bree has been having wild monkey sex with Karl and talks to Susan about Katherine hooking up with Mike, hoping that since Susan wasn't with Mike when it happened that things are fine between her and Katherine. Susan says that she just doesn't need a friend like Katherine in her life and if it had been with Karl, it would've been worse because of how badly he hurt her. Uh oh, Bree.

Charlie's Angels
Tom, Orson and Carlos get two excellent scenes where they decide they are suspicious of the new neighbors and want to investigate. It's pretty throwaway, but it was hilarious.

The Bolens
In their suspicion of the Bolens, we find out that Danny moved from romancing Julie to romancing Ana, Gabby and Carlos's niece. When the cops came sniffing around Julie's attack, Danny got Ana to lie for him but Gabby discovers the lie when she tests the strength of the trellis that Ana says she used to sneak out her bedroom window. There is an hilarious shot of Gabby falling off said trellis over the shoulder of the gardener.

Thoughts & Tidbits

• So did Danny do it? Probably not. Too obvious.
  
  
• Did his dad do it? The possible Baby Daddy Nick seems like a good suspect.
  
  
• Or did Katherine do it because she's a total nutjob looney. My money's on Katherine. I think Julie was still sleeping Nick, but Katherine did the attack.
  
  
• Julie's doctor was Paco from "Nurses!" Who remembers that show? Just me?
  
  
• Roy: If you got hit by a bus, I'd really miss you.
  Karen: That's it? Okay. You're showering alone tonight.
  
  
• Gabby: There is no way you crawled down that trellis. Because I just tried to and it  collapsed on top of me. What's your answer to that?
  Ana: I don't know... pull back on the carbs and try again in two weeks?
