'Dancing with the Stars': Chuck Liddell, Aaron Carter face elimination

With some favorites faltering, it puts a kink in predicting who'll be axed on tonight's "Dancing with the Stars" results show. Will it be a fallen frontrunner or a constant struggler?

After the recap package from last night (is it just me or does Derek Hough look like "Blue Lagoon" star Christopher Atkins?), Len introduces tonight's encore courtesy of Melissa Joan Hart & Mark Ballas. Considering she had a breakout performance with the Charleston, I have no problem with it. Plus we get to see Mark in that giant mustache again. Bonus.

Shakira performs her latest single, "Did It Again," next complete with a group of all-female traditional Japanese drummers (who are awesome). At the end of the song, our little she-wolf does some choreographed drumming with the ladies, which was very cool. The woman knows how to put on show. The single has a light, poppy electronica feel - I kind of dig it. Also,I find it interesting that half the time it sounds like she's singing in another language even when it's all English.

Hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris go through the leader board before revealing our first batch of results, in no particular order. There's a legitimate Bottom Two tonight (instead of four or three that are later whittled down), which Mya & Dmitry Chaplin and Melissa & Mark are not a part of. Aaron Carter & Karina Smirnoff however must stand under the Spotlight of Doom. Gasps of shock float from the audience.

Tom introduced the new Bachelor Jeff in the audience. I only mention this because when he said the show's subtitle, "On The Wings Of Love," he totally paused to make a face and laughed after he finished his line. Heart Tom.

The two dances main dances next week are the Argentine Tango and the Paso Doble. Alec Mazo, Edyta Sliwinska, Louis Van Amstel, Cheryl Burke, Dmitry, and Karina perform to demonstrate how they're done. It was very, very well done, as you'd expect. Next week also brings the group number in which all the couples will do the Hustle. That ought to be interesting.

Before going to commercials, Tom lets us all know that Kelly Osbourne & Louis, Natalie Coughlin & Alec, and Joanna Krupa & Derek are all safe. After the break, Mark Dacascos & Lacey Schwimmer and Michael Irvin & Anna Demidova are given stays of execution as well.

Our first filler package is about how the families of the contestants become part of the show too. There's another shot of Mark's little girl running towards him - I just want to squeeze her! So freakin' adorable. Michael's son Michael Jr. pokes fun at how his dad sticks his tongue out a lot. Chuck's kids and Melissa's sons are also featured. Cute feature.

Shakira returns to perform "Hips Don't Lie," complete with a guy dreads as Substitute! Wyclef Jean. I didn't mention her outfit before but I have to say I really like it. It's very superhero chic with the cut-outs on the side, the embellishments, chunky boots, and Wonder Woman cuff. A small army of dancers joined her about halfway through and she did some of her patented hip shaking.

Filler package #2 is about how stressful the show is, with Mya calling it "Mardi Gras meets the Olympics," especially elimination. More results now with only three unknown couples left. Donny Osmond & Kym Johnson are saved but we have to go to commercial before we can find out more.

With Chuck Liddell & Anna Trebunskaya and Louie Vito & Chelsie Hightower left on executioner's row, Louie & Chelsea are pardoned. Len is asked who he wants to stay and he believes that, while Chuck is entertaining, Aaron's the better dancer.

Len should be a happy man then because Chuck & Anna have been eliminated. Chuck says he had fun and took a shot at it, taking it very well. Anna says it was great working with him, calling him her "bear" and "hippo" affectionately. It'll be sad to see them go but it truly was their time.

Their send off song is "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" a la Deniece Williams and Johnny Mathis. Why don't you just kick him in the junk while you're at it.
