RSS'90210': Teddy's yacht party
Tonight on "90210," I spend a lot of time shouting, "You go, Annie!" Oh, and Silver sucks.Annie's Smirking Revenge
Annie gets grounded by her parents for the topless picture, which seemed excessive to me. She also gets "slut" graffitied on her locker. Did she score a 14 on the purity test like Veronica? Her revenge is to confront Naomi. The first go-round, Silver and Ade totally believe Naomi like the little Heathers they are now.
The second go-round, on Teddy's yacht, goes a little better, with Annie confronting Naomi with Skeazy Mark and then confessing to Naomi (with Liam standing there) that she and Liam were actually sleeping together the whole time and used to cuddle and make fun of her and how everybody who loves Naomi loves Annie more. YOU GO, ANNIE! Also, Annie made a deal with Mark so he'd help her and we don't know what her end of the bargain is. Uh oh.
Silver & Naomi
Silver decides that even though what Naomi did was gross, after how "cruel" Annie was to Naomi she can't really blame her. UM, WHAT? WTF SILVER!!! Sending a topless text is SO far beyond the pale even if Annie DID sleep with Liam. If a girl did that to ME in high school... forget cruel. I'd only need a .45 and a shovel. I doubt anybody would miss her.
They bond like the Sisterhood of the Cuckoo Pants and it's pretty barf-worthy. I expect better from you, SILVER.
Dixon & Sasha Fierce
Dixon meets a hot baseball-loving DJing chick who is also like 25, so what does he do? Pretends to be a music executive who drives a lambourghini. As one does. When Sasha shows up to DJ Teddy's yacht party, he says he's old friends of the Montgomerys and in the end they jet off to Napa in Navid's lambourghini. This should end well. Never trust a big butt and a smile, Dixon.
Navid, Teddy & Ade
Navid apologizes to Ade and then Teddy confronts him about the whole "I hate your breathing guts" thing. Navid thinks Teddy is sleazy, but it turns out the sex scandal at Exeter was Teddy covering for his "scholarship kid" roommate so said kid wouldn't get kicked out. Uh huh. Sure it was, blonde guy who eats ivy and rows boats.
Sure enough, not 5 minutes later down in the galley, Teddy tries to see Adrianna's galley. She doesn't kiss him and excuses herself, but there was hesitation there. Later, Navid is now all "rah-rah Teddy" and wants to throw him a welcome back party. Ade is strangely quiet.
The Wilsons
We have a delightful new plot device in which Debbie and Harry are having marital problems. They are fighting over how to raise the kids and he turns to Kelly for advice. He and Kelly bond, Debbie is jealous and I sense they are creating this fighting for a love triangle.
That makes me angry because A) there is no precedent of the Wilsons having problems and I don't like things thrown at me from nowhere. If this was going to be a thing, it should've started episodes ago. Have a plan, WRITERS and B) can't Kelly and Harry be good platonic friends? What is wrong with that? I loved their relationship and now I'm mad.
Liam
After Annie pulls her whole "we were sleeping together the whole time" thing, Liam tells Dixon his sister is a psycho, then goes home to his workshop and gets out some blueprints. Um, you're the psycho, you sleeping-with-girlfriend's-sister-plotting-to-like-blow-up-the-school guy.
Thoughts & Tidbits
- Annie rocks now. I love season 2 Annie.
- The use of "Poison" in both "Glee" and now "90210" makes me SO happy. One of my favorite dance songs of all time.
- Harry's line, "You think that I can't detect non-verbal disapproval? I have two teenagers at home." Priceless.
- What is with "the Yankees can't catch Boston?" The Yankees have had the best record in baseball for awhile now.
- Dixon needs to stop dropping cheesy "Casablanca" lines while dressed like Run DMC.

how is sending a naked picture of someone, who you think just had sex with your boyfriend, worse than having sex with your friend's boyfriend? and since everyone now thinks it really did happen that is really crappy of Annie. so all Naomi's cruelty is ok, because now annie really did sleep with liam
I am really disappointed in Silver...she was a favorite of mine last season, but not anymore. Now, strangley I like Annie, which I never imagined would happen.
Ade is still my favorite though.
I love S2 Annie too! And Silver is bugging me. What was with all the platitudes about Naomi -- "you're the most popular girl in school" etc. From what I have seen, she may be pretty and rich, but she doesn't seem to be popular, people are scared of her because she's such a witch.
Sending a naked picture of minor is 1) illegal; 2) will always be out there in cyberspace, whereas who your high school boyfriend slept with is only h.s. gossip and over upon graduation. It doesn't have the potential to screw up someone's reputation. So sending the picture is definitely worse.
Not sure how I feel about adult Wilsons. I would like Harry and Kelly together (never really took to Debbie), but it does seem to have come out of nowhere. Plus, I would hate to see the character of Kelly backslide and become some hussy homewrecker.
Has Silver become the new Annie? I'm digging this Annie, as Naomi needs a true nemesis. What I like about this is that Naomi is insecure and a bitch out of necessity and desperation, which rings hollow to me. Annie, however, has always had the bitch inside of her and has been waiting for it to be unleashed. Keep it up, as I like where she's going as a character. I loathed her last year but Silver has become my new object of disdain. What a weak-willed, delusioned freak=show.
The new blonde-guy, Ken doll is either going to be a rapist or gay. He was either in love with his old roommate or a conspirer. The gay thing seems likely to me now.
Great recap, Andrea. However, I disagree somewhat. Annie still nauseates me. Didn't she hit someone with her car? But her "revenge" thing is enjoyable, especially because the truth hasn't even come out yet. I like Silver; she came out with the best line of the night, after Dixon (he is nothing but a whiny, high maintenance blond) was ridiculously mean to her (again) and told her he could never be himself with her: "I'm so glad you found someone you could be yourself with". She said this after, quite mature of her, IMO, not outing all his lies.
The Harry/Kelly thing did start up, at the end of last season. But I don't like being manipulated now into thinking Harry and Debbie just started having problems. Too convenient. And, by the way, Kelly is the consummate skank, always was. Just because she plays it holier-than-thou does not mean she is not the ultimate slut she always was. Kelly would have no problem with Harry being married.
I think Teddy's gay, too. Remember what Teddy said to Navid when Navid got seasick? "You'll like it better in the stern".
I just cant stand Annie. I have no sympathy for her. She feels alone but she's bringing being alone on herself. And Silver rocks!!! I dont see what she did that was so bad. I hope she doesn't go back to Dixon, she deserves much better.
Great recap, Andrea. I also am loving Annie this season, but is it me or have they dragged out this Naomi storyline too long? I pray Naomi comes to her senses by midseason, because this is ridiculous.
Love the assessment of Dixon. He is wearing my nerves thin and so is Harry. They both just seem to ignorant as hell this season. What gives?
Dixon looks SO ridiculous with those stupid hats and vests - he is the character I really can't stand, though I think new guy Teddy will be high up there among my dislikes...he's too smarmy and definitely up to something. I like the gay/in love with former "scholarship" roommate angle...
Annie deserves to get revenge! Enough with the poor naomi crap! The girl cannot stand when her exes or men like her friends, she is too self obsessed! What makes me dislike her even more, is that Annie warned her zbout Liam a long time ago and that bitch didn't believe! What goes around comes around! I don't understand why dixon is so hated? I like him so much, he's been through hell with Silver and then to thank him she kissed his best friend and kept ethan's messages the whole summer and now he is the bad guy8 Really? Silver was my fave but her stabbing annie in the back when at first she told her not to be friend with naomi and now they're like best friends! Hypocrite much?
