'America's Got Talent': Footworkingz vs Pixie Mystere
Tonight on "America's Got Talent," I am very surprised the Footworkingz were in the judges' choice spot.
Alright, if I have to pull the trigger and pick 5 acts to advance, on the basis of sustaining a 90-minute Las Vegas show (yes, 90. Not 19. I'm a doof)... I would have to pick Footworkingz, U4RIA, Mario & Jenny, Lawrence Beamen and Pixie Mystere. I don't think Hairo Torres can sustain a long show, though if he makes it I won't be disappointed. Marcus Terrell was cute, but didn't blow me away. Same with Bri. Jeff Ou isn't Vegas enough and Dave Johnson could've been funnier. We don't need to talk about G-Force or Jay Mattioli, right? So those are my choices.
My choices immediately fly out the window as the first pairing is Bri and Jeffrey Ou. Well, out of these two I think Bri is more of a Vegas show than Jeffrey. But both are very talented. The one going through is... Jeffrey Ou. Wow, I'm very surprised. I hope we see more of Bri outside this show, I think she's very good.
Ashley Tisdale. Who is this girl again? All the Hilary-Lohan-Miley-Lindsey-Duff-Jennifer-Vanessa-Cyrus-Haylie-Ashley-Hudgens girls kinda blur together for me. She can sing, I suppose. The song's fine. I'm just not a Top 40 Pop fan unless I'm drunk at a bar and feel like dancing and even then, I'd rather hear the Rolling Stones' "Honky Tonk Woman." Why yes, I am old as dirt. Why do you ask? Also, her black leather belted onesie and hooker boots are quite the ensemble.
More results now. The next group is Jay Mattioli, Dave Johnson and Lawrence Beaman. Well, duh. Lawrence Beaman is advancing, the other two are not. That's a no-brainer. First we send Dave home, then we send Jay home. Yeah, that's right.
We now have Marcus Terrell & the Serenades and Mario & Jenny. This has to be Mario & Jenny, right? They are the epitome of Las Vegas, while Marcus Terrell is more like Frank Sinatra Las Vegas. Also, has anybody else had the thought that Marcus looks like Jar-Jar Binks?
Do we have a "live" slip-up? Jenny says, "The competition tonight is incredible." I mean, we all know this took place live last night, right? I'm surprised since this takes place the night before that we don't get any spoilers.
Now we have Daughtry. I like his voice and this song is catchy and Chris Daughtry is very handsome, but you know... I want results! Get on with it! I don't care that much about this.
The next group of results is G-Force, U4RIA and Hairo Torres. I actually dont' know who will advance between U4RIA and Hairo. They are both very good, so I don't really mind who goes through. As long as it's not the moppets, that's fine. You know, I'm struck by how much Emily (lead singer of G-Force) looks like Stacy Ferguson from "Kids, Incorporated." I mean, not NOW because now Fergie is all methy, but back then. Emily looks a lot like her.
Anyway... G-Force is sent home and then Hairo Torres is sent through. Wow, I'm a tad surprised because I thought U4RIA was very good. Ah well.
OH MY GOD, I just realized this leaves us with Footworkingz and Pixie Mystere. I can't believe Footworkingz were either 5th or 6th in the voting! They were SO GOOD. This is terrible. Well, the judges have to pick Footworkingz. I mean, the Pixies are super-cute but they aren't Las Vegas and the Footworkingz are.
With the judges, Sharon says how much she loves the Pixies but that they have so many more opportunities in their lives and votes for the Footworkingz. Yes, that's right. Piers says that tonight has been surprising and he doesn't agree with America's voting on all counts. However, he goes with the act that has the best chance of winning and says Footworkingz. The Hoff says he would've voted for them as well. The Footworkingz go over and practically engulf the Pixies in a group hug, it's nice. The little Pixies are trying so hard not to cry, awww.
Well, did the right 5 acts make it tonight? I tend to agree with Piers that they did not. However, most all of them were so good last night that I can't be too mad. Tune in here next week for: African High Flyers, Barbara Padilla, Coney Island Chris, EriAm, Erik & Rickie, Ishaara, Matt & Anthony, Mia Boostrom, Pam Martin & Viva, Recycled Percussion and wild cards Drew Stevyns and Lollipop Girls.

wow. Kinda stunned that Bri didn't make the top 5, even moreso that Jeffrey Ou made the top 4.
I really have to wonder if the voting isn't fixed on this show, and the producers p***ed Ou through since his performance was screwed up.
Gaaahhh i have no self control why do you have to post this before it airs on the west coast!! I click on the recap, promising myself i will read only one result, but then i read the whole thing and now my night just opened up. I will watch it anyway, though, because i like hearing what the judges have to say to the acts that make it through and their reason for voting for the last two acts in the end. I will miss marcus. I really don't care for Mario and Jenny. They seem nice but come on, criss angel has already made vegas his personal stomping ground, and i know that criss does magic and mario does stunts and stuff, but same thing in my opinion, also, criss is really talented so most magic acts and things like mario and jenny will just have to wait until he dies or something. The footworkingz probably came in 5th, but it still surprises me that america didn't vote for them more. I didn't vote, i never do on these live shows, but still... I will miss dave johnson, and jay, but thy should have just bowed out and made thier exit when they had to go up against lawrence. It annoys me that they compare the acts like that, because you don't even need to hear the results most of the time. I want to feel surprised, good or bad. I don't want to know the answer before nick cannon says it! That fact that i can predict those things makes me feel like i watch this show too much and think about it in too much detail. ugh
who ever wrote this article can go to hell. dont be talkin about the tiz(ashley tisdale) like dat.
I can go to hell because I don't care for Pop Princesses? Okay, lunatic.
Hell hath no fury like a teenybopper scorned.
uhh people....we need to discuss something. If you are over the age of 5 and like ashley tiswhatever then you need to see a therapist because very clearly you have issues if you are addictied to a disney girl who can't sing. my guess is that p.m must be a little four year old girl who loves disney channel who probably stole her mom's computer to write that comment. come on ashley isn't even the main thing on the show tonight.
I just hate how they have the 12 acts and 5 go through. The way they are grouped together is bad cuz this week you get a whole lot of talent where more than 5 should have gone through and last week it was maybe 3 really good acts and 2 that wouldnt have done better than 10 of this weeks acts
Totally floored by Jeffery making the top 4 on pity votes alone. His first audition was not even fully televised. He had no chance to make a real first impression with the audience.
Also amazed that Mario and Jenny actually have support at all. It's a Vegas act... so, what? On a show that consistently lets children into the live votes I would expect that acts are not being judged based on traditional Vegas showiness. Every time I see them I just see a magician pulling cards out of his mouth, except its a juggler. Every thing they've done was done on the first season, back when they had less than 1,000 acts audition. They had somewhere around 100,000 audition this year. I would've thought their standards would be a bit higher. But what do I know, obviously America seems to like mediocrity.
Last: I think there's too much talk about this being a post-Boyle AGT season. The voting is indicating it's more of a post-Lambert AGT season as voters are being exceedingly more brutal to the singing acts than in prior years. I'd say the quality of singers all around was better last year than this, but then they were actually screened for a second audition last year.
I think America nailed it. Bri was nothing special and Ou obviously deserved another shot. I agree with all the decisions.
MF788, you've obviously never heard of the "pity vote." Plenty of people voted for Jeffrey because his performance got screwed over.
Also, I'm not too surprised that FootworKINGz had to go to the judges. Simply put, they went first. Add to that the quality of acts following them and fresher on people's minds. The Fab Five lucked out last week because almost everyone following them stunk.
