'For the Love of Ray J' serves up a Cocktail
OK, we'll admit: We've been paying very little attention to VH1's show "For the Love of Ray J." Frankly, amid the blizzard of shows the channel keeps throwing onto its air, it's hard to keep track of what's what.
"For the Love of Ray J" had its finale Monday night, and the singer/actor/little brother of Brandy had to make his final choice among three women: Cocktail, Danger and Unique (not, as you may have guessed, their real names). He chose Cocktail, aka Joanna, a 26-year-old cocktail waitress from Sacramento, Calif.
VH1 has video of the full finale, broken into nine parts, on its own site. Below is the first act (not counting a recap of the season).
What we want to know is -- if you watched it, did Ray J make the right choice? And if not, would these nine minutes make you want to watch? And why does VH1 insist on using nicknames for these women?
all these shows are complete garbage...
and, i totally watch them anyway! maybe even beCAUSE they are!!
i watched...he KINDA made the right choice. my personal fav was "danger"--yeah, "she smashed the homies" and she's a li'l "off", but anybody with a sex tape floatin' around deserves that kinda crazy!
i certainly woulda picked her...
that said, ****tail fits nicely into his carry-on bag while he's out stickin' his li'l ray j into someone like danger while he's on tour. plus, like he said, how can you not like someone who ain't tryin' to change you?!
but, back to my original point: all these shows are garbage...but, SOMEbody's gotta watch 'em while clickety-clackin' on their laptop, right?
i draw the line at "Daisy of Love", though... (i mean, if it was called "Pickin' Daisy", i MIGHT've watched the premier!)
I DVR THE SHOW EVERY MONDAY AND I WAS HOOKED, I PERSONALLY THINK UNIQUE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN IT. CANT WAIT FOR THE REUNION....DAISY OF LOVE IS PURE GARBAGE!!!!
OMG! What a surprise another young brother chose a female outside of his race! I tell my daughter everyday, by the time she is ready to get into a serious relationship there won't be any 'BLACK MEN' available to date. Our young brothers are all over the place.........

plus, i heard she smashed the homies...

I thought Danger was going to win even thought she smashed the homie like NonImus said. ****tail is all right better than that prude Unique...but like you all know that probably won't last.....

I'm not surprised he picked ****tail. Unique is too calculating, Danger is too unstable, and ****tail is the most attractive of the three remaining girls.
I kind of take issue with the comment about Ray J selecting a winner 'outside of his race', implying that it's a bad thing. I think that's a racist statement, to be honest. People should not feel they have to date only their own race out of 'loyalty' or something. People should date whomever they want. I think if there were more mixed-race relationships, racism would quickly lose traction. Racism is born from segregation. You should allow your daughter to date any race she chooses when the time comes, and not pressure her into making her selection of a potential mate based on race.

I am so happy that he didn't pick Unique!! I didn't like her and I didn't like that she wanted him to be Willie to her family!! WTF?? You want him to be someone different around your peeps? If she really liked him, she would've let him be himself and tried lessen the nervous feelings he had.
