'One Tree Hill': Can we bring back the dog, please?
After last week's organ-chomping drama, anything that happened on tonight's "One Tree Hill" was bound to be a disappointment. Still, to go from an episode so surreal to one so mundane was sort of like going to Baskin Robbins hoping for double chocolate and all they have left is rum raisin.
There's absolutely no follow up to Dan's storyline this week, other than the segments where Lucas and Nathan help Jamie to understand more about Keith and who he was. Considering last week Jamie finally learned Dan killed Keith, I guess it would be natural if the kid had a few questions. Although it was nice to see these three boys working together and to get a lot of talk about Keith, it was still sort of boring. Perhaps if they'd had this conversation in front of Dan's giant headstone I would have been more entertained.
Haley is having trouble concentrating on her music because all she can think of are her high school kids, and in turn all they can think of is her. They hate Principal Perpetual Mean Face (Haley's substitute) so much they even stage a full on "Dead Poets Society" meeting in Haley's living room and force her to teach them about "Catch-22." This revolution was all led by Sam and Jack, of course. Principal Perpetual Mean Face tries to ask Haley to come back but Haley refuses.
Julian decides he isn't quite done torturing Brooke so he gives her a sort of ultimatum in the form of two tickets for her and Sam to follow him to Los Angeles. That night. As in, to move to Los Angeles that night with no notice and be with him forever. Julian, what is your deal? Brooke asks for everyone's advice (including CHASE!) and everyone pretty much tells her to go, even Sam. In the end, however, Brooke makes the very right decision in telling Julian she has a life in Tree Hill and she can't just drop it for some guy she's known only a month. Thank you. Why can't Julian stay there for a while? He's a producer. It's called a laptop and a Blackberry.
Meanwhile, Skills decides Mouth is depressed so he drags him on a road trip to his alma mater to go to a party with Gigi and get him some college girl lovin'. Mouth is reluctant, and I am amazed they could drive from Tree Hill, NC to Syracuse, NY in like five hours. Apparently Skills' car is a Delorean. All the party does is make Mouth think about Millicent, so Skills then drives them from Syracuse to NYC (in about an hour) where Mouth begs Millie to take him back. She does. I yawn.
Throughout the episode Peyton is busy drawing her and Lucas' life story in order to give it to her baby because she is GOING TO DIE, remember? Sigh.
Random thoughts:
- I hope you all were watching "The Soup" last week to see Joel McHale comment on the heart eating. Classic!
- Sam and Jack finally kiss this week. Does anyone here care about Sam and Jack? Anyone? They keep trying to give Sam independent storylines, and I keep forgetting to care. When she's with Brooke I like her. Let's stick to that for now.
- What is up with Julian? Why is he so all or nothing? He used to be cute but now it's just bordering on creepy.
What did you guys think?

wow stop watching the show then *****.
wow, little harsh tucsonite...do you need a valium?
I won't be as harsh but I agree with tucsonite. Why does Zap2it have someone who obviously hates the show so much recap it? I'm not saying don't have an opinion but if it's that painful for you to watch this show then don't watch it, give it to someone else.
Gotta say, I'm kinda with the recapper on this one. Don't care one whit about Sam and Jack (Note to Jack, Please shower and cut your hair.). Love, love Jamie, but it was a little boring. Would've preferred to see him ask some hard questions to Dan and have Dan squirm a bit.
Mouth-Gigi-Millie, blech. I so wish they would write Mouth off and bring Bevin back!! She cracked me up.
And I LOVE Julian, but yeah, the whole, Move-with-me-to LA-tonight was weird. I could accept that he might issue an ultimatum, but that was crazy. And I really wanted Brooke to tell him that she loved him, but that she couldn't move...yet anyway.
And that is the second time Jake has been mentioned (by Peyton), so when will he make an appeance?and why?
Finally - What is up with the network? We had to wait ages for a new eppy, get 3 or 4 and now no more until April 20?? CW sucks.
I think people need to recognize when they are watching so-bad-it's-good-TV and get over it.
Aw, you guys! I do like this show. I just don't like it when it's boring, and last night it was really, really boring.
your a *****. u kno it.
Um, hate to interrupt, but *****, I believe there is a facebook quiz that tells you when to use your and you're. If you're going to call someone names, use grammar. You're old enough to spell it right.
Secondly, the show is extraordinarily boring with Mouth and Millicent and Sam/Jack. I like Sam with Brooke and I agree with the above poster, Jack needs to shower and cut his hair. Or, let's get a storyline where Sam finds her parents and she's gone. At least next week Victoria is back.
I liked the guy scenes, they were cute. Give Chase something to do. Give Julian something to do. I like both on the show. Do something to shake it up a bit. It's getting a little 90210 post graduation.
Again, I find it hilarious that people are taking these message boards so seriously...really...we have resorted to calling people *****? Grow up!! On another note, I agree as well that the show was boring, big let down after last week & please, please can they just fire Millicent & Mouth??
I love me some OTH and last night was ok, just not the best ep. But it certainly looks like they are bringing the drama for the last. five. episodes! 3 weeks away of course, boo!
I agree that I really don't care about Sam outside of Brooke, though her s/l with Haley was cute. Also really dislike Mouth. He's always been boring to me, so I wouldn't mind seeing him go. Give Skillz another s/l, he's so funny!
The ep was a bit boring, but I sooo love that they keep Keith's spirit alive by talking about him so much. I hate it when shows kill off someone everyone cared about and after the grieving ep they never mention them again. And I'm very happy Jamie finally found out Dan killed Keith and wants to know more about him. I wonder if Luke is going to buy Keith's shop? I was kinda gettin that vibe.
Peyton is depressing the heck outta me! Hasn't this girl been through enough?
