Katewalsh_privatepractice_240 Starting or finishing, starting or finishing... our girl Addison said she was finishing last week, but she's most definitely starting. And Noah isn't backing off, trusting pregnant wife or not. The tension between these two is making this episode of "Private Practice" crazy good. And Dell got to look hang-doggy some more, but he had good reason this time.

Addison

Yeah, sure, she turned hot, married Noah down last week, huzzah Addison, but all she can think of this week is hot, married Noah. And yowsa, the chemistry here blows anything she had with Officer Kevin or Wyatt out of the proverbial water. So she's working it all through, and he's still smoldering all over the place, even throwing "in love with" out there (and yes, they really just met but that didn't come off as creepy). But she's really lonely and he's really hot. Did I mention that? She even breaks herself from Morgan (the pregnant wife) until he comes in begging for her to reconsider. Because he cares for Morgan. Ooh. Ok. And for some reason, she's using Pete as a sounding board. Duh.

In the meantime, she has Katie, a pregnant woman who has a history of delusions. Her baby has died in utero, but she can still feel her moving, she says, and doesn't believe Addison when she says the baby is gone. Violet works with her to get back into see Addison, but basically uses the lie that Addison would like to apologize for the mistake, and she can see the baby again on the ultrasound if she comes back in. Before she can get to the point of accepting it, she gets very sick, leading Addison and Pete to demand that she be declared incompetent so they can do a D and C. Violet, however, is convinced she can get her to understand reality.

Cooper, Charlotte, and Violet

Yes, it's the strangest threesome in the world. Cooper is living with Violet but rekindling things with Charlotte. Violet and Charlotte have a nice bonding moment together after Charlotte helps Violet with her nausea, and they giggle over Pete and/or Sheldon as daddies. And then Charlotte does Violets nails they dish about Cooper. Seriously. And I originally wrote that line as a joke, but then it actually happened. No, really. All of a sudden it was like a weird deja vu in the middle of the recap. I think I channeled Shonda for a second! Either that or it was predictable.

Pete

Pete is hitting anything that moves to make up for the fact that he's scared to death over his feelings for Violet and what could be his baby. The baby he and Violet find out is a boy.

Sam and Naomi

Naomi is on the loose this week, sowing some oats. One of Sam's buddies has caught Naomi's eye, and has Sam, as he says, pimping her out, much to his jealous chagrin. He's so green, you'd think it was still St. Patrick's Day. And still, she's blowing him off to pickup guys in bars and go out looking slutty. Sam and Naomi's word. Not mine. Oh, just let them get back together already. Yawn. Not hot. Predictable. But man, Michelle Obama has nothing on Audra McDonald's arms. Whoa girl.

Cooper and Sam

One of Cooper's old pediatric kids, Brandon, is all grown up, and has come to see Sam to get treatment for a sore throat. Turns out he has Stage 4 throat cancer, caused by HPV, given to him by his girlfriend, Lila. Hey kids, oral sex is sex too! Cooper and Sam disagree on how to treat him, chemo and radiation or surgery. However, the tumor is right up against his carotid artery, and so it requires immediate surgery, and that surgery is going to remove part of his jaw. The girlfriend isn't having any part of it. She pretty much yells "Ew" and runs away. Brandon originally decides to cancel the surgery to keep Lila, but Sam and Cooper get him to reconsider. That storyline didn't seem ended, so maybe we'll see him again in the future...

Dell

Hey! Dell has a storyline! His ex-girlfriend Heather has gotten a promotion, but it involves a move to St.Louis. Dell, obviously, is freaked out over losing Betsy. And the day after she tells Dell her news, she's skips town. He's the one who gets through to delusional Katie. Everyone's baby is gone this week.

In the end, Addison takes Morgan back as a patient, swearing to see her pregnancy through until the end, and then thirty seconds later admits to Noah that he's not alone in the having feelings department.

Smolder, smolder, smolder. Smolder.

I want to hate this Noah story because I'm so sick of the Adultery Circus that is Shonda TV, but these two do have mad chemistry. I find the struggle to stay apart (on Addison's part, at least) compelling. I'm not sure I want him for her because he's married guy falling for someone else, not to mention, I hate the position he's put her in as a doctor... and yet at the same time, I can't seem to stop watching them with total fascination.

I also have to say, as much as I support a woman's right to govern her own body, Violet is on my last nerve with her refusal to figure out who the father is. These guys deserve to know if they should invest in this kid or not with their whole hearts.

Ernesta! HEE!

And poor Dell. I love what the reveal of him being a dad did for the way I viewed him, and I hate that Heather just ran off with Betsey like that. I hope to goodness he finds her soon.

And for Naomi, I'm guessing that is pretty "slutty." She strikes me as someone who's always been pretty buttoned up.

Of course Noah sizzles with Addison... He's Flea! He has always had great chemistry with his leading ladies. (And a special spot in my heart since his Flea days.)

Olivia - I totally agree with you about the whole adultery thing and hating it at the same time I find myself getting invested. That Shona...

Still can't figure out what they're doing with Dell, though. Liked the dad hat on him, but now what?? Stay tuned I guess. I still think his undying love for the married Naomi dried up awful quick. I think I've been kinds hoping it's still maybe still there on "low." Don't really need Sam and Naomi to get back together. I'd rather see them branch out some more.

Paul Addelstein's face and subsequent "get me the hell out of here" squirm when his two worlds collided was just priceless. Nice scene. =)

Yeah, I think jaw boy will be back, too.

D'oh! ShonDa!! =)

Flea?????? What's that? Like I said last week Shonda cannot have a couple not be a cheater. It's my only real beef against her.

Did anyone else notice the vice-versa storylines on Grey's and PP about the man with the disfigured face that gets repaired and the boy with the repaired face that's going to get disfigured? Have they run out of illnesses of the week at exactly the same time?

I think Addison & Noah are just sexy because well - there's nothing sexier than a "taboo", "can't have him/her" relationship. But I find this Noah guy to be smarmy. I've seen the actor in maybe 3 shows/guest-starring roles now & so far, it seems this type of character is his M.O. He's good-looking, but he's always this arrogant, possible nice guy, who's actually a double-standard jerk. Any married guy who keeps trying to get on with someone else while claiming to love his wife, is sleaze in my book. I just couldn't look past that. And the sad part is, Addison's just living up to the old mantra: "once a cheater, always a cheater"...or in this case, attracted to a cheater. I don't like what this says about her character & it's making me like her less.

Cooper/Charlotte/Violet - That was just odd how the girls all of a sudden got along. Weird writing, I meant. But I do like how the actresses gelled together so nicely & are good enough actors to actually sell me their scenes.

Love Cooper & Charlotte. They were surprising couple when began, but I'm really invested & interested in their continued romance.

Violet/Pete/Sheldon - I like Violet with Sheldon better as a long-term couple. Better match. Sheldon's adorable & good for her I think. Pete's got so much baggage & emotional issues, I just don't see him being more than the selfish guy he's mostly come across to me as.

Dell has a story! He's totally HOT & can act. Plus the character is likable too! I hope the show gives Dell more story in future episodes though.

Sam & Naomi - I agree with you. Same. Boring. Sam's way to hot to spend the rest of the season all hung up on Naomi though. I want to see him in other relationships!

I looked up "Flea" its from GI Jane. Thanks IMDB. Never saw the movie. As a cheated on spouse, I wish Shonda would not make cheating so prevalent in all her shows.

I am loving this Addie/Noah storyline. In the past Addison has always just jumped the men even if it wasn't the right thing to do. This time while she is tempted, she is staying away. She is growing.

I think Noah's wife will probably die, opening up a possible relationship between Noah and Addison.

Don - Yeah, G.I. Jane. He played this big, dumb, lug of a guy who had a heart of gold and was the first one to be nice to Demi while the rest of the Navy Seals were kicking her in the teeth every day. It was sweet, it stuck with me. =)

Emily - I think you're right and that's exactly where this story is headed... guilt and all!
