Shirleymanson_scc_240 Tonight, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles touched upon that which has been sacrosanct in the Terminator world -- Kyle Reese. More than one person has played John (a different person in every movie in fact), more than one has played a Terminator, and more than one has played Sarah. I guess it had to be Kyle's turn eventually.

Okay, many will say that it was okay for Kyle to appear tonight as he only appeared in Sarah's mind and Sarah was, quite possibly, woozy from her gunshot wound when she was imagining him. Perhaps it was the wooziness that caused her to imagine Kyle as the original Lucky Spencer from General Hospital. It's certainly only because she was woozy that she gave her real first name to the doctor she kidnapped. Plus, if she'd been thinking straight she would have worked out a way so as to not kidnap a doctor who was coming onto a shift and who would be instantly missed (it was just unlucky for Sarah that the doctor was friends with a cop).

For her part, Doc Burton, was actually willing to help Sarah as she figured that Sarah was being tormented by an abusive spouse. I'm not buying that bit. Burton may have believed Sarah to be in danger from an abusive spouse, but I don't think for a minute that she would help Sarah sneak back into the hospital to remove the bullet from Sarah's leg.

She did make the whole thing more believable, ordering Sarah to give up her gun and putting Sarah under prior to the surgery, but she didn't then turn Sarah in. How exactly, I ask you, is the hospital going to recoup the money for that surgery? I guess Burton was just lucky that the surgery was successful, what would she have done if Sarah had died on the table?

It may not have been Sarah's body, but by the end of the night Burton did have a dead body to deal with, that of the cop she shot who pulled the gun on Derek who pulled the gun on her. Burton actually opted to take the fall for that rather than blame Sarah. Sarah thanked her by telling Burton that everything Sarah had said about John and Kyle was a lie. Nice lady, that Sarah.

Other things happened too tonight... starting with Riley in the hospital after her unsuccessful suicide attempt. Derek was none too pleased by that, what with the authorities getting involved, but John didn't give him a choice. I also wasn't pleased, but for slightly different reasons, I would have let her bleed out because she's annoying, not because cops and doctors would ask questions. Okay, just because Derek agrees with me doesn't make me right, but Cameron agrees with me too, and if those two are on the same side of an issue there has to be something to it.

Jesse ended up pulling Riley out of the hospital at gunpoint, right out from under John and Cameron's nose. At some point John and Derek are going to work out exactly what Jesse's doing. I can't wait for that day to come.

And, as I've said before, the John Henry-James Ellison story continues to truly fascinate and astound. John Henry has apparently learned all about his body's history and tonight wanted to ask god why god didn't give humans more ball and socket joints as ball and socket joints allow for a wider range of movement than hinge joints. See, that's just plain awesome. I want to ask god the same question, and I want to know if the Yankees are going to win the World Series this year. Perhaps I just have to ask John Henry that last one, because he was smart enough to deduce that Weaver is metal, but not metal like he's metal (anything that can do that might be able to tell me about the Yanks).

Weaver appeared a bit scared by that information, but not as scared as she was when John Henry played a snippet of audio indicating that there had been some trouble at the warehouse Sarah had visited in the last episode. Weaver went there and blew the place up. She also killed everyone prior to blowing it up, just to make sure that no one would live to tell the story.

I, for one, hope that we get more Kyle in the future, who's with me?

Two points:

One: Kyle Reese has appeared several times on TSCC in Derek's flashbacks (flashforwards?).

Two: John Henry is the owner of the Boston Red Sox (albeit not the robot John Henry), and he can tell you all about your precious yankees. They're staying in third place.

Sarah always gives her real first name, just different last name. And if the doc was willing to shoot her ex because he abused her, she was probably willing to help Sarah with what she could - something about identifying with the victim that makes a person do crazy things.

Something I don't get, maybe I missed heard, I was in and out of the room -- but she referred to Derek as Reese, why? What's going on? Is he John's father or was he going along with her wooziness, but than what was the conversation (or lack of) in the truck?

P.S. Jonathan Jackson was hott, but whats up with those sideburns - we're suppose to believe this Sarah was all into that...well it was the 80s when they were supposed to have hooked up....?

in the uncut t2 dvd sarah is helped out by kyle in a dream telling her she to find john and keep him safe so last night was nothing new there but it was very well done and i hope to see kyle more sometime soon with him fighing in 2o27 that be bad***

Nevermind, Reese is the last name, so its Derek Reese - My bad.

It was cool to see the (almost imperceptible) look of panic in Weaver's face when John Henry told her about what he had overheard. Good acting on the redhead's part. Finally somebody (or something) has thrown Weaver off her stride.

I like the John Henry character. He cracks me up with that little half smile that he does. At this point, he's neither good nor evil, he just is, making him a wonderful wild card in the show's plot.

By the way, was the factory that Weaver blew up the same warehouse that Sarah went to? Because the warehouse that Sarah went to was totally empty of people, except for the guard who shot her. The warehouse that Weaver blew up had plenty of people inside.

Maybe Sarah visited when the warehouse was closed, with only a security guard there to keep an eye on things?

I hope they wrap up everything in the next few episodes, because I don't expect TTSCC to last much longer.

Interesting that you spell God with a small 'g' and Yankees with a capital "Y". Nice priorities.

Other than that, this was one of the least interesting eps of this show that I've seen. I don't think I made it to the 45 minute mark. Ratings indicate it's time to wrap it up.

Many episodes in this second season have been shorter on action and heavier on plot and problems than the first season. The show has enough characters, I didn't really want to spend time getting to know the cops (even if it was the guy from Enterprise.) The main criticism of this second season is that they have not used the core cast well enough. Not much Cameron in this episode, or even John. However, I quite liked the Sarah/Kyle stuff. Reminded me a bit of Baltar/Head Six on BSG. Lena Headey is on of the main reasons I watch this show. She captured Sarah's mix of vulnerability and toughness really well.
Weaver on the rampage was the main (only?) real action of the episode, and it was a bloodbath! She's a great scary robot! I do miss Cromartie, John Henry is creepy though.
Sadly I doubt this show will last another season, but hopefully we will get more focus on the core 4 - Sarah, John, Cameron and Derek.

I love this show.

I think it's a great show, but I'm getting tired of the "hallucinatory person" trope in TV shows. "Battlestar Galactica" does it well, but even they have wisely scaled it back in recent episodes (I'm also led to understand that those visions will be explained in concrete terms in future episodes). Granted, Sarah's vision of Kyle wasn't as much of a disaster as "Bones" extremely bad attempt last week. That was just awful.

Why can't writers just 'show', and not use this cheat to 'tell'?
