Hughjackman_oscars09_240 We'll be covering the heck out of the Academy Awards on Sunday -- both here at Zap2it and our sister sites, LATimes.com and The Envelope. While they're on the red carpet and backstage at the Kodak Theatre, we'll be doing what we do best -- watching the Oscar show on TV and commenting on what's on screen.

We'd also like your help with that. Come back to this post at 8 p.m. ET/5 PT on Sunday, where we'll be hosting a live chat about the show, ranging from the dresses on the red carpet to host Hugh Jackman's performance to, you know, who's actually winning.

See you Sunday ...

It was a really nice change this year, the way they toasted and honored all the nominees before awarding the one, the best. They spread the honors around a bit, blurred the edges. Really good show.

This was the first awards show that I've watched in a while and really enjoyed it. Loved the musical montage. Of course I'm a big Hugh Jackman fan, so I'm probably a bit biased. I really enjoyed how the five presenters honored the nominees.

And I'm glad Sean Penn won. He was enthralling as Harvey Milk. Loved his speech. You tell them, Sean!

The best ceremony I have ever seen. Having a different past winner pay tribute to a nominee in all the acting categories was brilliant- made you want to see the performances moreso than seeing the traditionally all-too-short clips...it was obvious that almost all of the nominees were genuinely touched my these mini-tributes to their performances. Also the suspense of who would be among the five presenters in each group...inspired! Kudos to the producers for making it look great and making it a pleasure to sit through. Also loved that the speeches were allowed to go on with no intrusive music. Awesome!!

Apparently, Wolverine's secret origin story involves him once being Billy Elliot.

Dance, Wolverine, dance!!!!

I'm always amazed by these folks smug sense of self-importance. Boring show. And those little kids from Mumbai? They go back to poverty after beging used as cute props.

I loved The Oscars last night and loved how they introduced the Acting nominations.

Can anyone enlighten me about the following? At the end of the show, when they were showing a montage of upcoming films, there was the song "Wearing your new leopardskin pillbox hat" at the very end of the segment. I know it's an old Bob Dylan song, but does anyone know who was singing it last night? I loved it! Thanks!

And, the show was really refreshing...some good changes and Hugh Jackman was wonderful...also thought that maybe Tina Fey and Steve Martin would be good co-hosts sometime too.

Help! Does anyone know the following? At the end of the show, they showed a montage of upcoming films. At the very end, the song "Wearing your new leopardskin pillbox hat" was playing. I know it's an old Bob Dylan song, but does anyone know who was doing this version? I loved it. Thanks!

I thought the show was refreshing and really well done. And Hugh Jackman was wonderful. Also thought that Tina Fey and Steve Martin would make good co-hosts in the future.

Sorry about the double-post.

It didn't feel like an Oscar show, I felt like I was watching the Tony Awards. I don't care for the Tony Awards. They should stick with showing clips of scens of the acting nominees. I gotta say congrats to my girl Kate Winslet on her win last night she deserved it. And I second that Steve Martin and Tina Fey should Co-host next year.
